The Ark Of Time For A Picnic

"If word comes out that you've scared the kids, Mavislin won't be letting you see the sun for a very long while. Probably the only thing you would be seeing would be the stars since her punches are getting quite powerful," replied Z, pointing in the direction of Mavislin and Raiyen.

"Sorry, I thought it would be a fun thing to see Bryan freak out, seeing how much he likes the food of the Old Chapel," commented Baldwin, rubbing the sore spot on his head.

"You didn't exactly accomplish your goal, but you did end up freaking the kids out. But seriously, where do all the troublemaking Mages end up going?' asked Bryan, wiping Nasima's tears.

"Either they become high in the ranks such as a few of Baldwin's Glorybringers, or they'd end up transferring to Ysabeau's Dynasty of Wings as recruits. If they kick up a fuss, they're welcome to join my Ark as a Hazard Class and get disciplined by the Calamity Class Mages," replied Z.

"Then if they refuse to be in the Arks at all?"

"If that's the case, we won't stop them and allow them to be free. But, once they cause any trouble that's considered deadly to us, we'll lock them up in the Congregation's old basement. That place is worse than a normal prison, seeing that most Mages died from starvation or disease."

"I wonder if that's better than being ground up or executed..."

"We can't kill any Mage unless we are fighting with them. Ysabeau and Mavislin made it mandatory not to provide executions, seeing that the population of the Mages on this planet is low. But so far, there's only one account of the Mage going into the prison. I might have to check on him soon."

That gave Bryan the chills as Z spoke so calmly. It was as if he was the one who made those prisons. The Slayer then turned to Ashley.

"Try not to lower yourgaurd if Z is around. He might seem friendly and nice but he is the most merciless out of the four of them," said Ashley.

"Advice heeded. Anyways, I hope you are proud to train the next set of the Barren Pillars. They've been rescued from endless torture and pain, so please do be patient with them," said Bryan.

"Not to worry, they are great in my books. Although, of course, they need more practice and experience to sharpen their skills further. But I can tell they've got a bright future ahead of them as the Pillars. And speaking of which, do you want to check up on the Flower Mage?"

Bryan quickly caught wind of Rina's whereabouts and rushed over to the Spearman's side to help her. Favorably, Rina was a Mage and the damage done wasn't too extreme. Although, the Butterfly Girl was pouting as Bryan helped her get back to the group.

Slayer Verna was clueless on why Rina was pouting and badly bruised from head to toe. So all he could do was to help her pluck out the splinters and leaves she'd gotten on her hair and legs. While doing so, Rina ran her mouth to no end, upset about the previous battle.

"Alright, alright. There's no need to be angry anymore. Let's get the last of these things out, and we'll head back to where the rest is, alright? It's okay now... Don't have to be so upset," cooed Bryan, plucking out another splinter.

Rina abruptly burst into tears, and Bryan felt like dying now. He then pulled out a sack from his belt and handed it to Rina.

"Stop crying. Here, have this. They are called chocolates. Clement made them. You should like it since you like sweet things. The chef asked me to try, but I didn't like it. You can have it all if you promise to stop crying," said Bryan, placing the sack into Rina's hands.

Rina nodded and opened the sack to reveal little, dark, brown spheres. They smelt delicious and Rina popped one in her mouth. Her eyes sparkled as she chewed on the beautiful snack. It was bitter but sweet at the same time. And she loved it.

Bryan thanked the heavens and Clement's cooking. After getting the last of the wood out, Bryan and Rina headed back to the group, where the kids waited for the food. Rina sat down next to Nasima. Bryan proceeded to pour everyone a cup of lemonade.

"Why are we having lunch outside?" asked Z.

"Clement heard that these kids were being trained to be part of the Arks, so he thought it was a good idea to have a picnic out here. The Old Chapel's weather forecast is constantly sunny unless Raiyen decides to mess it up, so I agreed with that idea."
