"Was the trip back here bumpy or anything wrong with you now? Like, missing things?" asked the Valkyrie.
"Nope, everything I've got is with me, but my powers have been forced into ranks below the time we met. And there was a slight misunderstanding between Rina and me before the training session."
"Oh, what misunderstanding, Rina?"
"I thought he was some assassin or criminal trying to kidnap the kids. Ashley wanted to take a shot at me when I couldn't get who he was. Circe stepped in to fight him for a bit before I realized he was part of the Pillars. I do apologize for that," said Rina, taking some broccoli.
"Why would you think that a criminal can come into this place..." asked Raiyen, confused out of his mind.
"Well, I don't understand how does this place functions. We passed through those vines and into this open field. I thought it was just a clearing in the middle of the forest, so I was prepared if someone foreign were to attack us," confessed Rina.
"When we are saying about the Old Chapel, we don't mean just the building in the middle of this area. We are referring to the place that you see right now. The trees, the waterfall, and the building are all creations made by Gillian. He created it before any one of us had arrived."
"It was a gift for Ysabeau as their wedding anniversary. That time, the two of them were quite separated from us. I did ask about the area, but Gillian mentioned that the place was still unstable for people to come and go. This place is another realm by itself," explained Baldwin.
"So the Old Chapel is like the spell that we are trying to do?" asked Raiyen, suddenly remembering the fact that the Old Chapel was a place separated from the rest of Earth.
"Not exactly. Some Mages can pass through the barrier, and this place isn't out of the time flow. It's just hidden. Most people won't get into this part of the forest because the village next to us has sworn to protect our home's whereabouts. And here's the best part," said the Valkyrie, smiling.
"The clearing that we are at now is constantly changing places. That's why no one can find this area other than the Founders. If I were to kick you out now, you'd never be able to find us, no matter how hard you tried. This clearing moves around to avoid being detected."
"It was such a good trick. As we invited more Mages into the place, Gillian limited it to only the main six to have the key to this place. And it's engraved into our Elemental Core. As for the aerial view, there's an invisible dome surrounding to top of the Old Chapel."
"The Old Chapel can mimic weather forecasts to seem as if it was part of the forest. However, if need be, Gillian can control the area at will. Even if you fight within the forest, you won't harm anyone because the place moves each second. We don't feel it because of Gillian's Magecraft."
"And if the Mage's Elemental Aura and Energy are too intense within the place, the Mages outside can detect this place. That's why our Magecraft is limited here. And when we go to sleep, the things broken here would be fixed by the soul of the Old Chapel," explained Baldwin.
The kids were listening to the explanation as they ate. They looked at one another and thought the same thing. This place was truly magical.
"And also, we wanted to check up on the kids' training. I heard Midori had gone overboard with the friendly match, right?" asked Mavislin.
Midori's eyes widened as the Valkyrie mentioned her name. She turned to see Mavislin's smiling face. The child could have sworn that her soul went out of her body right there and then. Duncan squeezed his sister's hand.
"Ah, that part... Amani and Circe's training sessions were quick and finished within half an hour, but Midori's round took an hour because she was in a heated conflict with Rina. But I do have to report that the child is quite masterful in the art of the blade, dodging most of Rina's quick assaults."
"I dare say that I would've lost to her if I was wielding a sword. In addition, Midori was nimble and had full control of her body during the fight. But, I can't say too much about her Element."
"And why not?"
"Midori only showed her Elemental Aura and the Blood Mastery Skill. It wasn't enough for me to determine if her command on Magecraft was good or bad. Just by having a tonne of Elemental Energy doesn't mean that she would be a powerful Mage," explained Ashley.
