The Ark Of Mordred's Past

"I was King Arthur's illegitimate child. I joined the Knights without telling them about my true identity, and I was accepted into the ranks because of my quick skills. I am known as an Artificial human, otherwise called a Homunculus."

"Thus, my body matures faster than a human would. And I was able to rise the ranks into a known Knight to serve the King directly. I didn't hate him at first. I truly respected him from the bottom of my heart," explained Mordred, as the area changed.

Midori found herself standing at a dark alleyway with a bright light coming from the only opening. An unseen force made the child walk towards the end of the area. As she neared it, a child with a brown cloak and hood was staring into the streets. Midori squinted as she tried to see the roads.

There was a whole stretch of people gathering by the side of the street as if to make way for someone important. The people were clapping and cheering in celebration. Midori leaned forwards to get a glimpse of the person beside her and found that she was looking at a young Mordred.

Suddenly, the adult Mordred appeared behind the child.

"This is was the first time I laid eyes on the King. It was a parade to honor the return of the Knights Of the Round Table after a battle in the foreign lands.," explained Mordred, pointing at the streets.

The crowd cheered even louder as a group of Knights sat on top of horses riding through the streets. The only one Midori could recognize the one with a blue, fluffy cloak and a King's crown. The one Knight who crossed blades with Mordred in the previous scene.

The child then turned to look at the younger Mordred, who had eyes like a child.

"Wow... So that's the King Of Knights..." murmured the young Mordred.

"That's right, and that is the place you should be aiming for, my dear child. Then, one day, you would be defeating the King to take his crown," said another voice, scaring the living daylights out of Midori.

A woman with pale skin and white hair gently whispered into young Mordred's ears.

"That was my mother, Morgan La Fey. At that time, I was too young to understand my mother's motives for me to be in the Knights and just wanted to work alongside the King. Taking the King's place was impossible in my thoughts since he was perfect in every way possible."

"Thus, I promised myself to follow in his shadow and became his sword to protect him. I eliminated his enemies so he wouldn't have to lift a finger to clear small rodents. At first, he was beautiful to me," explained the older Mordred as the place changed again.

This time, Midori was at the corner of a room with a large wooden table in the middle of it. Again, the King was sitting while two Knights stood at his side. A fully armored Mordred stood at the table and nodded while the King made a simple nod.

"I was accepted into his Knights, but I made sure not to reveal my true appearance as my mother refused me to take the helmet down until my last resort," explained Mordred as she took Midori to step outside of the room.

Midori jumped as she saw a soldier pinned to the wall by Mordred's sword.

"The King... He is not human! You have to understand this!" pleaded the solider, grabbing the blade in fear.

Mordred turned her blade in cold blood and beheaded the soldier with ease.

"I wish I would've known that the rebels were telling the truth. I kept thinking that the King was perfect. But he was right; the King did not seem human at all. He did everything perfectly, even to the point that he drove Sir Lancelot into insanity. Then, after a while, my mother appeared again."

Midori took a step backward and found herself in a corridor that allowed the colors of a sunset to seep into the pathway and walls. The child walked a few more steps before halting right before the young Mordred with her helmet down.

Morgan appeared from the shadows and started yelling at Mordred, looking very upset.

"How long do you intend to play Knight?!" exclaimed Mordred's mother.

"Mother..." greeted Mordred, confused.

"You are the King's child! His one and true heir to the throne!" yelled Morgan.

"I am? I'm... The King's son?!"

Mordred looked so happy upon hearing the news that she was related to the King. However, the scene changed drastically with a bang on the table. Midori turned around to expect a battle of some sort only to find that she was back in the room with the large round table.
