The Ark Of Duncan's True Element

"I can stand in for you since Raiyen has woken up. And Baldwin seems to be coming back here, judging by that thick shadow. By the way, why do you need another Mage to supervise the training? Duncan would be the last one," said Tomoe, walking over to the Valkyrie with a yawn.

The rest of the worried kids tagged along the Kistune's tail and embraced their group mates. Everyone tried their best to keep Nasima from crying, even Circe, who the child of winds had attacked. As soon as the Kitsune pinpointed the hiding Mage, Baldwin came out.

The Angry Man popping out of his shadow impressed Duncan that someone other than himself could go into the shadows and not be seen for the whole time.

"I wish I could sew your mouth shut for the benefit of my ears and life. I'm lucky this is a training set, not a real battle. Or else I'm going to use you as my meat shield," threatened Baldwin, glaring daggers at the fox.

"I would love to see you try, Sir Baldwin Noble. Because unlike you, I face my enemies without using the cover of shadows. Your threats to attack me have reminded me of something... Ah, that's right! You owe me a payment for getting that intel from Urnsfield," said Tomoe, smirking at Baldwin.

Mavislin looked at Baldwin with a raised eyebrow.

"Shall we settle that somewhere away from the Valkyrie? Or your master, to be extra careful," whispered Baldwin, nudging at the Kitsune's side.

"Anyways, coming back to why I needed to have another Mage on deck to help out. Suppose Duncan goes into trance modes like Nasima or rebel like Midori. Who knows what will happen. No offense, but Duncan, your powers are the most lethal one amongst you."

"Midori's Blood Mastery is nothing compared to the most basic of Duncan's Element. However, I do not doubt that I would have to pay special attention to Duncan. After all, the Element Of Darkness is not one to be messed with," explained Mavislin, pointing at the scrawny boy.

"Hang on... I thought we chose Duncan because his Element was the same as Sir Noble's Element?" asked Rina, confused.

"Nope, these children were chosen because of the powers and aspect they represent. These kids represent the basic Elements that I first used. Fire, Water, Wind, Nature, and Darkness. At first, I thought Duncan had the Necrosis Element, but after seeing his shadows, I changed my mind."

Mavislin got closer to Duncan and crouched down to be at the same eye level as the little boy.

"Listen, Duncan. I never meant to scare you, but it's for your safety and the well-being of others. You wield one of the Founding Elements, which sounds impossible since your twin holds a derivative Element."

"Next time, I will teach everyone about the Elements, but I have to warn you first."

The Valkyrie gently placed both hands on Duncan's shoulders, shocking the boy.

"Your Element is the Mother of all Dark Elements, including necrosis and Corruption. The more death surrounds you, the more powerful you become. This Element gets powered by your emotions, specifically the negative ones. The more you hate, the stronger you get."

"You are like my twin, who went mad with his powers. The first Valkyrie in the Universe to hold a derivative from the Element of Darkness. My brother fell from grace after murdering everyone nearby and ultimately causing the War that ended so many worlds at once."

"I never want to see that outcome again. So, you have to listen to me as you train. Ask every question you need to about your powers. Because right now, you are the youngest Mage to hold a Founding Element. The possibilities within you are boundless when it comes to spells."

"You can use Poison or Necrosis. You can even create new Elements by muddling different aspects of the Darkness Element. But one thing you have to remember; your Element thrives when it's at its most destructive. So your agility and defense may not be strong by your damage must be high."

"That's why I placed you at the Dementor Pillar and have good faith that you will excel in meeting my expectations. But first, I need you to control your powers before we can take it to the next step. Promise?" asked Mavislin, giving a bright smile to Duncan.

The child nodded as Mavislin pulled him into a hug, which made the rest of the kids jealous. Particularly the child of winds.

"No fair! I want hugs too!" protested Nasima, leaping from Rina's lap to hug the Valkyrie.

"Nasima! You're going to hurt Lady Roydon if you pounce on her like that!" yelled the Flower Mage as the rest of the children followed the little girl.
