As Midori tried to swing a punch at the Valkyrie, Mavislin quickly caught the child's arm without much effort. One glare from the leader of the Pillars was enough to send chills down the poor girl's spine, but the spirit inside her refused to back down.
"If you're going to voice your opinion about the matter, why not do it peacefully instead of attacking us? Talk before using force, dear Mordred," commanded Mavislin, not caring that the child was in her iron grasp.
The child widened her eyes as Mavislin found her out. Midori sighed before she stopped resisting the Valkyrie's grip. Once Mavislin released her arm, red sparks started appearing around the child. Then, a sudden gust of wind burst from the girl and revealed Midori's changed appearance.
The left half of Midori's hair had switched from white to pale yellow. Her left eye was in a darker shade of green compared to the other eye. Her ears and tail remained the same color signifying that the Knight Of Rebellion didn't completely take over Midori.
The girl had been wearing a little green dress that Raiyen got from one of his trips to the future. However, the dress was now covered by armor. To be more specific, Mordred's grey and red armor had shrunk into Midori's size. Mavislin blinked her eyes before shaking her head in amusement.
"Well... I'll be blown away and baffled by this madness... I thought Midori's body wasn't fit enough to do a spirit takeover?" asked the Valkyrie.
"It's easier to control her body's movements ever since we've exchanged memories. It's as if I needed to understand the child before accessing her motor functions. So think of me as a backup plan if Midori's consciousness fails," explained Mordred in the little fox's body.
Tomoe and Bryan backed away in fear as Baldwin and Raiyen exchanged glances before shrugging the matter off. Ysabeau held a very stern look and seemed quite angry at Mordred for using Midori's body as a host. However, Z remained calm as he peeked at the Headmaster's expression.
Which was still calm, with the occasional eye movements.
"So, why did you act out, Mordred? Did Mavislin say something to trigger you?" asked Ysabeau rather harshly.
"Not exactly. It's the whole matter itself. Midori tried to suppress me, but I needed to speak with you about this case, so I was rough. You'd said Merlin was working with the Congregation during the days when my father was alive. And when we all died, Merlin took our bodies, right?"
Everyone nodded in unison.
"Let me be clear to you. I am the soul of Mordred Pendragon, and I'm not some copy of the real one. I've regained every fragment of my memory, and I ask you to let me be of use to this task regarding the King Of Knights. With this body, I can fight alongside you-"
"Like hell, I'll allow such things!" roared the High Queen, slamming her fists on the table.
"Clement! Please brew some tea for the High Queen. After a few hours of discussion, she needs to relax," ordered Z, instantly helping the High Queen rest.
The startled chef nodded anxiously before diving to the stove to brew some tea leaves.
"I've been keeping my mouth shut ever since you materialized in the child's body, but I can't take it anymore! From the beginning, I knew you were in that poor girl, but you were dormant. I thought you'd leave her once she sprouted those ears and tail, but the duel occurred."
"And you appeared while making contact with Midori's soul. Then, hours later, you gained control of the child's motor functions. Are you not ashamed of what you've done?!" argued Ysabeau, clenching her fists.
Mordred seemed confused as she looked to Mavislin for help. The Valkyrie took the expression as a sign of support and tried to soothe matters between the two women.
"Hang on, Ysabeau... There's no need to get so angry at Mordred for what she'd done... The Knight was only trying to help Midori. Having a spirit help her for the battles to come isn't a rare sight for us to see, so why are you so worked up about it?" quizzed Mavislin.
"It's not rare for bottom-rate Mage to use another spirit's help for power, but have you seen any Mage live longer than a century when they do so?" shot back Ysabeau, her piercing eyes never leaving the nervous Knight.
"She's not going to last that long anyway since she isn't a true Mage. Her body is still human, and that's how I managed to get control so easily. I'm not going to harm the child, I swear. Besides, if I meant ill to this kid, I wouldn't have entered her in the first place."
