The Ark Of The Spell Of The Future

"You seem joyful about getting your hands dirty, Headmaster Gillian."

"Of course! Do you know how long has it been since these hands of mine had done any combat or Elements?! Minus the minor altercation with Benjamin a few weeks ago, I have been assigning Missions to everyone for the past year! I hate sitting at a desk and not having fights in my life."

"And before you ask, no, it's not the same as reading a Mage's book to get a battlefield perspective. But back to what you were saying about the Husks coming back, I thought the gap was a decade long? Earth wasn't meant to house the Husks either," complained Gillian, pouting.

"That's true, only to a certain extent. By having a Time Mage with us and against the Corrupted One, it would seem that the Husks are going to appear here more often. However, we aren't sure about what Raiyen did to cause the heightened appearances of the Husks and Benjamin."

"All we know is the Time Boy has done something to them. However, the echoes and versions of the Corrupted One, which appear frequently, are weaker than the real deal. The problem is that we have no clue which versions are just the echoes and the real ones."

Gillian opened his mouth to protest as Raiyen left with Mavislin and Midori. Rina wanted to drag Midori back to bed where the rest of her groupmates were sleeping, but the Valkyrie had other ideas for the Knight in the little fox's body.

"Midori has slept long enough, and I doubt you'll remain calm after gaining access to a natural body after so long. Raiyen and I have a plan for the two of you, but you can't tell the rest. Do you promise?" asked the Valkyrie, holding out her hand to Mordred.

Mordred nodded while Rina sighed loudly.

"Just make sure she comes back alive. Tomorrow is another training set again," sighed Rina, retiring for the night.

The Time Mage's ears perked up when the Angry Man mentioned his name.

"Whatever it is about the Corrupted One, I have no clue. I'm not the future self that you speak about. Maybe you can ask Verna about that version of me. That boy may look normal, but his mother is related to me for some reason, so try asking him for help," replied Raiyen loudly.

After mouthing an apology, Raiyen shook his head and glitched out of the Old Chapel's doors. Mavislin ran outside, holding the child's skeletal arm. Once they bypassed the vines at the area's entrance, Mordred's eyes shined with anticipation as she was met with the beautiful night sky.

"I was about to say not to ask him about the matter since I didn't know if the Raiyen we've got here in the future or the present one. But since he'd said that, I'm not going to pin the blame on him. Besides, there should be a reason why Benjamin got fragmented like this," said Baldwin.

"I agree. A powerful spell to fragment a creature like the Corrupted One should be formidable and require a massive power to pull the stunt off. And Raiyen isn't as hot-headed as he was back in the days, so I doubt he would make rash decisions in the future," answered Gillian.

"Don't be too sure; a spell from the Time Mages is a force to be reckoned with, so he might have done the spell as a last-ditch effort to save someone. But, instead, the question we should be asking is what creates a spell, drastic enough to divide a being as strong as Benjamin."

"I'm afraid of the answer to my question. Thus, I won't be thinking about it now," finished the Angry Man, with a heavy tone.

Baldwin may fight Raiyen on every other occasion, but it doesn't excuse Baldwin from seeing Raiyen as his kid and brother in arms. Losing him would be like losing a comrade and family member. The Dark Mage shuddered at the thought that Raiyen would be the first to go.

Baldwin pondered back to the Umbra Mission... Had he been a second late, Mavislin would've lost control or died while fighting against Benjamin. It was the only time that the Angry Man felt scared to lose someone that isn't related to him by blood.

And the right time to realize the family he was invited to wasn't just a bunch of friends anymore. The Angry Man knew that if he was scared to lose the other Founders, it meant that they were his family now. Baldwin laughed as he never thought he would be part of this randomized family.

He wondered if Abi wanted him to be in this family... But back to the situation, Baldwin explained his research on the Husks.
