"Today's lesson is going to be different from yesterday. Firstly, Rina will not be teaching you for today. So instead, no one is going to train you for today and you will all learn from each other by dueling with one another. And there will be someone watching over as you guys fight."
Mavislin then turned to the Slayer for more information about the day's plans for the children. All eyes were on Bryan as he stuffed his face with more bacon. Z nudged the Slayer by his side, and Bryan quickly cleared his throat.
"As Lady Roydon has said, today plans to get a sense of everyone's battle skills. So I've prepared for the five of you to duel but not simultaneously. I will be watching over the duels, and I will make sure to halt the fight if things go out of hand. The first one would be Circe against Amani."
"After your meal, go to your room and put on your battle attire, and we'll meet at the same place as yesterday's training ground," commanded Bryan, straightening himself up.
The kids nodded in unison as they finished up the last bites of their food and hurried back upstairs. Rina decided Kai won't be eating anymore since half of his breakfast was on the floor and plucked the baby out to wash him up.
Then, as everyone wanted to leave, Tomoe came right in, but he wasn't looking for food.
"So, I hear that you are leading the train for today? Then how about our training?" asked the Kitsune, staring at Bryan.
"I won't say that I'm leading the session today, but I am in charge of the five kids for the whole day. And besides, our training is mostly just the two of us dueling each other until we pass out. So skipping one won't make a difference," replied Bryan.
"Yes, but now I'm left with nothing to do. And I can't disturb the rest since they've all got stuff to do. I'm bored being alone," whined Tomoe, placing his head on the table.
"Well, you can come and see the kids' training. We're starting quite soon. The kids will be fighting with each other for today, so I'm hoping something interesting might happen. Come on, let's get a move on. Lady Roydon, are you joining us?" asked the Slayer, turning to Mavislin.
"No, I've got to help Rina out to bring the rest of the children to the new area. Raiyen would be indisposed for a few days, so he can't be called. Do supervise those kids and make sure they don't kill each other," ordered Mavislin, leaving.
The Slayer and fox nodded as they headed outside. The children had run out from the other door and were sitting patiently on the grass floor, waiting for Bryan to start the class. Tomoe stood by the trees as Circe and Amani got ready to battle.
"The both of you showed the best control over your powers. This time, try using your Original Spells against each other while doing the best defense you have up your sleeves. There is no time limit. You may begin," announced Bryan, stepping away.
Circe pulled out a strand of her hair while Amani got ready to call upon another mythical beast. As the hair solidified into a bow, both kids' Elemental Aura began to burn brightly.
"Combust and burn. Ignite and create. The fire within my heart sets this hair ablaze... Let this hair of mine flow through the winds and connect the burning stars..." chanted Circe, with firey amber flames surrounding her tiny body.
"Interesting... She added to her incantation to power up her original attacks. I never knew these rascals could think of such things," said Z, popping up behind Tomoe.
The poor Kitsune nearly lost balance as the Galaxian Mage appeared out of nowhere. Meanwhile, Bryan was fixated on the duel while summoning up a shield to protect the rest of the class.
"Wait, how did you know that she had that incantation? I thought you weren't there to see Circe's Round?" asked Tomoe, glancing at Z.
"Oh, I know a few things that some people might not expect. For instance, even if I'm not around, I know about every Mage's powers and incantations since I have access to the archives. But what I can't foresee is the battle itself and what the outcome would be," replied Z.
Suddenly, Tomoe saw frost starting to form around Amani and felt chilly as Amani made his move. The fox quickly looked back to the fight where Amani was ready to unleash his power.
"My fingers comb and control waves. My palms invoke ice and snow. Let these reigns I hold choose the beast I need..." chanted Amani, as his ocean-like Aura engulfed him.
