The Ark Of Shield Of Evalach

Like how Baldwin and Duncan's Aura could cause things to decay around them, it would seem that Amani had the same type of hostile Aura as them. But Bryan found it oddly confusing since Amani has never shown himself to be passive-aggressive, only being passive at all times.

However, Tomoe and Z knew that each child could possess such a trait, despite their behaviors saying otherwise. Tomoe's Aura can emit flames, and those blue flames can fight against otherworldly beings. Z's Aura causes the water in the air to converge to him, making the area dry.

"Arsonist Arrow: Octennial Sun Rays Of Apollo!" yelled Circe, unleashing eight giant flaming arrows at Amani.

"I stand upon the sea of chaos and valiantly with this shield. This is our grand home that heals all wounds and disperses all grudges. A piece of the Round Table ruled by King Arthur in the lost legends... The center of it all. Show yourself," chanted Amani as the right arrows closed in.

Bryan remained calm but cautious as Amani stopped moving, with Circe's attacks increasing by the moment. But a flash of blue shot out from his opened palm and negated the eight arrow, forcing Circe to pull back and try a different approach. But Amani's new weapon came first.

"Shield Of Evalach!" shouted Amani, slamming a colossal shield down onto the ground.

This made Circe lose balance and made her rethink her next strategy. Circe found it difficult to breathe since the playing field had tipped towards Amani's favor. She needed to think of something fast. Otherwise, she won't win.

Unfortunately, her keen sense of sight isn't going to help in this round. Circe knew that she needed to be level-headed in the heat of the battle, or else she would fail as a Pillar. The child took a deep breath in but felt pain in her lungs as she did so. Could it be?

With a giant swing of his new weapon, Amani cleared the area and stood tall with a large crimson shield shaped like a crucifix. Despite it being that shape, it was large enough to cover Amani's body. The heart of the cross was protruding out with the inscription of runes.

With the help of the Old Chapel's translation Magecraft, everyone witnessing the battle could understand the runes on the shield. And no doubt, that shield was once wielded by the Knight Of the Shield. Sir Galahad, son of Lancelot, was now standing on the battlefield.

At least, that's what Z could discern from the top of the field. Tomoe looked intrigued while the twins looked at one another. Especially Midori, since the Knight of Rebellion inside her wanted to come out and beat every living daylights out of the 'Galahad' at the pit's bottom.

"I thought the twins were the only ones who could command the Arthurian Legends' Spirits?" asked Z while glancing down at the duel.

"Perhaps Midori's blood has got to do with this? Or that Amani child was only using the shield as a weapon and not as a summoning spirit?" asked Tomoe, looking at Z with raised eyebrows.

"I guess I would weigh on the second thought since I don't sense another person within the area."

Meanwhile, Circe had called back her bow and began to breathe frantically. She wasn't panicking because Amani had stepped up his game. Instead, her breaths were shallow and quick because of the icy dust inhaled into her system.

As she figured this problem out, Circe realized that she was starting to cough out blood. The child knew that she only had enough for one more unique spell to turn the tides of the battle. Or else Amani would win by proxy since Circe had spilled blood, one of the criteria to end the duel.

Blood... Someone had mentioned the use of the Blood Mastery to create weaponry. But Circe was calculative when it came to trying out new things. She wasn't as reckless as Midori or timid as Nasima. No, Circe was the girl in the middle regarding behavioral outcomes.

Known for breaking up random disputes within the group, Circe remained as cool-headed as possible in every situation she was in. If she showed any signs of panic or fear, the poor child would've been subjected to brutal punishments.

That's why the child always chooses the calculated approach after weighing the pros and cons of the decision. The experimenters will continue their tortures to invoke the child if she doesn't. So Circe learned to think ahead due to such horrendous conditions.

Circe was the most experienced in archery and long-ranged combat out of the five children. However, now faced with a close-quarters battle, Circe was at a disadvantage. It's now or never, thought the fire child. But how was she supposed to win against such odds?
