The boy closed his eyes and focused on bringing the shield's power into the battlefield. But unfortunately, although Amani's affinity was with water and ice, the shield he had summoned did not possess such elements. Or so, everyone thought. But this shield wasn't by the actual hero.
No, it was from the mind of Amanikable, the boy who had to deal with iced and water-type torture back in the Infinite Experiment Mission in Albion. They wanted to know and test the limits of human physical endurance against the water and cold.
The only form of escape that Amani knew of was reading books and learning new languages. And much like Z in his previous realm, Amani was the only one who cared to bother about learning how to write and read. Out of all five, Amani was the most knowledgeable and could read.
The blood within him allowed the boy more memory space than the rest of the kids. He could remember everything since birth and the legends he had read from the fallen books of the experimenters. One of his favorites was the legendary King Arthur and his Round Table Of Knights.
Unbeknownst to the five children and the Founders, the introduction of the Arthurian Legends to the chosen five was not a coincidence. But that would be revealed later, where Mavislin finds herself facing off the knock-off version of the King Of Knights.
For now, Amani was using the legend of Galahad in his shield. In the tale, Galahad did not have the power to use water to his advantage, but all the Knights of the Round Table had some form of connection to the Lady of the Lake. However, Galahad was different as he mirrored the King.
He pulled the sword out of the stone during a test that the King held for Galahad to join the Round Table. The King then proclaimed the Knight of the Shield to be the Greatest Knight. And later in life, Galahad was the only one to reach and ascend by the power of the Holy Grail.
Amani prepared for the spell in advance of the duel since he knew it would one day come in handy. The child had created his version of what Galahad's shield would look like based on the symbols and weaponry the Knight was drawn with. With that in mind, Amani was ready.
The area was split into two as Circe's half of the playing field was in a sea of flames while Amani's area was frozen solid. Bryan threw up his shield to protect himself from the next clash. Amani felt the shield's power pouring into his entire body while he focused on envisioning the weapon.
Remembering what Mavislin had said about the Blood Element, Amani forced his body to adhere to the advice and sent his blood to circulate in every part of his body. As a result, his heart was working into overdrive.
But this wasn't to protect himself against hostile attacks that Circe might do against him. No, Amani knew that the spell he was about to unleash beforehand was still in trial mode, and anything could happen due to imperfect spell creations.
Thus, Amani needed a backup plan if the spell backfires on him or the clash gets out of hand. And that plan was to pour everything he had to not get injured from the blast.
As for Circe, she had rubbed the bow with her spilled blood and pulled out a strand of hair to act as an arrow instead of the ones gifted to her. This confused Bryan as Mage doesn't usually go through the hassle of creating more weaponry if the weapon has already manifested in their hands.
Nonetheless, Circe prepared for a spell that does not need a chant, showing the power difference when words aren't used. Z wouldn't have believed it if he weren't looking at the battle right now. There was a reason why Circe was chosen by Mavislin herself.
The two girls were much alike since Mavislin never liked using long chants to invoke power. It's not that she can't; the Valkyrie finds it annoying and a waste of time when the outcome would be the same. Thus, save some precious seconds to turn the tide of the battle.
Furthermore, not using any incantations or chants before the attack leads to her true strength from the get-go instead of having to gather her powers, a complete opposite of Amani. Circe's arrow felt odd... Eerie to Bryan. It was an arrow, but something felt off about it.
Even the red bow gave off terrifying feelings as Circe loaded her weapon up and aimed for Amani.
"Grant me the power of the rising sun, Mantra of Lost Love!" shouted Circe, making the arrow erupt into flames.
