When Midori regained consciousness, the first person to embrace her was none other than her twin. Duncan's outfit, hair, and eyes had returned to normal. Bryan sighed in confusion as the children began to swarm the little fox.
"She wasn't in any real danger as far as I could tell since the cut wasn't too deep. But that Death Scythe of Duncan's should be monitored carefully. Legends say it could cut through anything, even beyond the Upper Skies. Thus, that's how your Heavenly Bull got sliced."
"After lunch, Ashley will be joining in supervising the children's duels since Z needs to speak with his troops at another of his missions. If I'm not mistaken, the only one who hasn't lifted her weapon yet is Nasima. I wonder which kid is going against such a sweet bundle of joy," said Mavislin.
Z widened his eyes as he heard someone mentioning his name. He then went towards the Valkyrie and Slayer, with Ashley following behind.
"The ocean problems are on hold because of the Rogue Mages Mission, but I still need to spend more time investigating what's going on with that place. Plus, there have been more sightings of beasts in that area. Luckily, no one got hurt yet," explained Z, stretching his arms.
"Do those beasts link to the storm closing in on the Teuton Domain?" asked Bryan.
"That's why I need to get back to my desk to find out. By the way, how's the Orphanage coming along? Did you two manage to get all the kids into that place safely?"
"We did, and since the kids were willing to follow instructions, we didn't have much of a resistance. And I think they like that place better than the Old Chapel for some odd reason. It is a shame that the building doesn't come to life, but the place is bigger than here."
"We've moved all of them, and they were picking out their bedrooms when we felt Duncan's Elemental Aura skyrocket. Luckily, Clement was there to help, and it is lunchtime right now. So Rina and I are heading back to the main house for lunch. Do you guys want to follow?"
The children nodded as the adults made their way toward the Old Chapel. Awaiting them on the dining table was a feast from the gods as they were so many dishes laid out for them. From mashed potatoes to racks of lamb. Instead of rice, everyone was having something called 'noodles.'
It was yellowish, and the children loved it. Gillian and Ysabeau were still upstairs as the crowd rushed into the dining hall. Raiyen was still sleeping, so Mavislin didn't bother to wake him up. After all, he deserved to have a nap now and then. Rina went to check on Kai, who was still sleeping.
Everyone began to eat while talking about the duels earlier. The children spoke amongst themselves as they recounted their moves, and they'd wanted to try out other spells. Z was elaborating more about the ocean's problems with Mavislin.
Baldwin's whereabouts were now unknown since the guy liked to be in the cover of shadows so Z had no way of checking up with him. Rina sat beside Bryan, who was joyfully talking to Tomoe and Ashley. Mavislin caught sight of Rina pouting as she left out of the conversations.
The Valkyrie then stood up to give some broccoli to the Butterfly Girl before she spoke out.
"How did the first duel go? Were there any major things worth noting during that fight?" asked Mavislin, addressing the question to everyone at the table.
"The first duel was Circe and Amani. It was a close fight, but I honestly thought the fire would beat the blizzard since Circe had more power in her attacks than Amani. But it was Amani's defense that had bested everything in that duel. Furthermore, both have shown their Orginal Spells."
"And Amani seems to have a spell similar to Midori and Duncan, using the legend of Galahad in one of his defense arsenals," explained the Slayer.
"Is that so? Perhaps I should arrange a book tour for the lot of you since your powers are quite connected to Arthurian Legends. Did the two of you learn anything from each other?" asked the Valkyrie, looking at the two children.
"I learned to use more defensive moves instead of always relying on firepower or brute force. So in the next duel, I promise I will not lose again," said Circe, shoving a spoonful of noodles into her tiny mouth.
"And I tried applying what you'd said this morning about the Blood Element, and it worked. I used my Blood Mastery as a defense mechanism to hold myself down during the clash so that I wouldn't slip. However, I haven't learned to use it to enhance my attacking abilities."
