"Good morning, Mira." Scar greeted, when he met me climbing down the stairs. It dawned on me that he had possibly been waiting for me all morning.
He was putting on a black jeans and a black polo that fitted him perfectly. Of course his jacket was still on. It seemed that he did not like to expose any part of his body.
The combination of black and black looked really nice on him contrasting with his white skin. At times like today I caught myself wondering how he would look without the scar. It was as if we both planned to wear black today.
"Good morning, what are you doing here?" I replied, not sparing him a glance. I was still so angry about yesterday. I wanted so bad to kill him now.
"I'm following you to_"
"No you are not, my landlady asked that I come, alone. Do you need me to explain to you the concept of alone?"
"Yen yen yen." he mimicked, mockingly. "I'm going with you and that's that."
"Indeed you have nothing to do with your life other than to follow me around. I see." I taunted. It was unbearable to see the look in his eyes they were so cold and unfeeling my mouth went dry.
"Mira." He sighed trying to hold my hand. His eyes warmed up when he called my name.
"Don't, Don't touch me."I hissed.
I walked away before I could do anything stupid like hugging or kissing him. He was the one who rejected me in the first place, I was only following in his footsteps.
"Fine suit your self." He shouted after me.
His outburst made me feel that he was not going to follow me anymore and I immediately regretted talking back at him. It scared me how already used to him I was. Without him I felt so alone. So afraid like the world was against me and I had no one and was not sure of even myself.
My fear died down when I heard his footsteps behind me.
I smirked In victory. It made me happy to know that he cared about me and that I won this round.
My landlady welcomed me into her home with a smile that was all too fake. I didn't even need to knock, she sighted me from downstairs and sent Chisom to let us in. I was however shocked that she welcomed Scar too. He did save her house though, maybe it was in gratitude that she let him come into her home.
Scar didn't want to go up though but I gave him a reassuring smile. Since she had already seen him then there was no need hiding from her again.
I was more than sure that that was the reason she stood outside. She wanted to make sure that the gossips about me and Scar were true.
"Good morning ma."I greeted sitting down on one of the sofas in her parlor. Her parlour was really comfy. It was painted green. Green sofas and green dining chairs circled the room and a big plasma TV was hung on the wall. She lived upstairs like we did but her own flat was more like a duplex since no tenant lived below.
"Good morning ma." Scar greeted too.
I glanced at Scar from the corner of my eyes only to find him staring back at me. Nothing was more beautiful, nothing. Not Even the sun in the evening when I considered it most beautiful. He winked at me and I looked away cursing myself for staring.
Bastard! He angered me so much.
"What do you want? a drink maybe." My landlady asked taking a sit, she crossed her legs and faced me squarely. "Mira?"
"Thanks but I ate before I came." I replied.
"Scar?" She asked smiling at him
"Water." Scar replied with a smile of his own.
We were sitting on the same sofa but I refused to acknowledge his presence.
How dare him smile at her!
"Water it is! Chisom get him water " I felt like it was her way of telling Chisom that her presence was no longer needed.
"I'm sorry for what happened yesterday. I don't know how to explain it, without it being confusing. I'm not a good story teller and_" I blurted out without thinking. I just wanted the meeting to end as quickly as possible.
She cut me off.
