CHAPTER 79

It was a Monday and a public holiday so I wasn't going to work.

I didn't mind, though I would have before I met Scar.

After last week Saturday where he had surprised me with a big bowl of delicious ice cream and had given me my first orgasm ever I couldn't get him off my mind. And I tried to. I really did but he was stuck there.

He had taken over my senses and I could hardly breath without thinking about him first.

I hadn't seen him since that evening when we both walked back home in silence while trying to avoid curious eyes of people watching us. I in front and Scar behind as we both pretended like we didn't know each other.

it would have been much more convincing if he was very much far away from me but he had insisted to be close enough to protect me.

Right now I was questioning his intentions as I hadn't seen him again that Saturday night and Yesterday too.

I spent most of Saturday and Sunday night looking down the window in the hopes that I would find him lurking around. I was scared that he had given up on me but I didn't want to jump into any conclusion. It was getting harder though. Every second I stayed without seeing him scared me more and more.

Of course he had a life asides me but I was hoping that he wouldn't leave me to my fate with that Bastard Ken.

I wanted him around. I needed the peace and hope I felt anytime he was around me.

We were both meant to see the DPO today and while my family were upstairs watching a movie I had gotten dressed and was now sitting on the stairs waiting for him.

My excuse for coming downstairs had been that I just wanted to read a novel without being distracted by the TV but I hadn't even been able to read a page since I got down here.

The only thought that occupied my mind was him.

Scar.

Scar.

Scar.

I was about to throw the novel away in frustration when a shadow came across the stairs.

I looked up to see gazing at me the one who had built a home in my mind and heart.

"Good morning Mira." He greeted with a smile so sweet I smiled back forgetting that I was supposed to be pissed.

"Good morning to you too. I guess." I replied standing up from the stairs I had been sitting. I dusted the back of my dress and walked down to the pavement.

"I thought you were not going to come." I said, unable to hide the hostility in my voice.

"And leave you alone with that DPO God forbid." Scar chuckled and winked at me. "I won't be leaving you with any man that isn't me."

"Oh really now?" I asked, beaming. I wanted to throw my hands around him and hug him but that would have been so embarrassing.

I had to suppress my feelings because love, love can break you and I was too broken to take that chance.

However, the fact that he was now with me and hasn't given up onleke I had feared was good enough for me.

My smile grew wider as I looked up at his curious face.

"You suddenly look so happy. Were you really missing me that much because the Mira I had seen on that stairs..." He gestured towards the stair where I had been sitting. Where my book was now left abandoned. "Was pretty pissed about something, but now see you are all smiley. Accept that I have gotten under your skin." Scar finished.

I rolled my eyes and giggled at how happy he looked wriggling his brows at me as if He had just proved to me the greatest mystery.

"Well I am happy to see you that I won't deny and___"

"I knew it!" He exclaimed cutting me off. We both started walking out of the stairs and into the compound.

"But that's because I didn't want to see the DPO alone." I finished earning a slight frown from him.

I opened the compound gate and we strolled out.

"Keep telling yourself that." Scar scoffed, cheering up again.

He flagged down a tricycle and we both jumped in.

"Estate police station." I said, informing the driver of where we were going.

I rested my head on Scars shoulders not wanting to stay away from him. I needed to feel him, to inhale his powerful scent. He was like peace and war together. A kind of addiction.

"So why didn't you tell me you once worked as a security guard?" I asked.

Scar seemed lost at first but it was only for a short while before he seemed to pick up. "I knew you would jump into conclusions. I didn't work as a security man anywhere the fuck_"

"So how do you know them?" I pushed further wanting to know him better.

Just then we arrived at the police station which was not too far away from my home.

"How much is your money?" I asked the driver totally forgetting about the question I had asked Scar.

"One fifty." He replied.

I tried to bring out the money from my purse when Scar stopped me. He thrust his hands into his pocket and brother out a thousand naira crispy note.

"Keep the change." He said as he handed the money to the driver.

"God bless you. Thank you. u no go lack anything...." The driver was still praying and blessing Scar when we walked into the police station.
