A Big Sister?

"I see, those are the weapons that the mayor ordered to the swordmaker in the capital. Let me get you to her."

The villager spoke and invited Christa to follow her as she leads the Adventurer to where the mayor of the village is. Christa's eyes were eagerly wandering around the village as they walk through the streets. Much like to a city, the village of Eisvel is pretty active and lively. Kids are outside their houses playing games with each other, the adults were busy working with things in the village, merchants are booming with their business and so on. It's almost like it's not a village, but instead a lively town or a city.

"This village sure is active and alive." Christa spoke with a pleased grin as she follows the villager.

The villager watched the girl looking around and getting into the atmosphere of the village. Doing so, she talks to her and asked, "Say, you're Angelika's kid, right? The little girl she was with when she came here when the village was in a pretty bad situation."

"I'm her student... Or it's more like she just took me and then began training me." Christa looks above and contemplates about it.

"Student, huh?" The villager continues to speak. "Miss Angelika is an incredible person. Back then, when she arrived at the village, Eisvel was in a pinch, but she saved the village rather easily as if it was just a simple issue to her."

'Eh... I wish I could remember it happen.' Christa mumbled inside her head. While still in her thoughts, the two finally reached the home of the village's mayor, where a fine and beautiful lady was standing outside the front house, waiting for the two to come closer to her.

"We're here. There's the mayor, it looks like she was waiting for us." The villager said to Christa as she finally turned her attention to the person in front of them. The two's footfalls finally stopped as they reached the place and the person they were going onto.

"Oh, who's the young lady beside you, Kara?" The lady who the villager called the Mayor spoke to her while looking at the black haired girl besides Kara. Incidentally, Christa's unusual crimson red eyes caught her attention. The moment she sees it, she did not need to know from the villager who the young girl was.

"Eh? You're..." The mayor's face was filled with shock and surprise as if something big has been revealed. Until she began scratching the surface of her head. "Who are you again?"

Christa were awkwardly smiling while the villager with her dead eyes were not impressed. "Hey..."

"Sorry, sorry. I think I remembered it now. You're Christa, right? The little girl who were with Angelika 8 years ago." The mayor puts her hands on her hips as she speaks in a friendly manner.

The black haired girl responded and said, "Yes... I'm her former student." Christa continues. "Speaking of which, aside from me, you guys seem to know Angelika quite well, is this her home village?"

The villager and the mayor of Eisvel stared at each other, at the same time, they smiled at one another before the mayor responded to Christa.

"You're wrong, this is not her hometown." The mayor spoke in an elated way. "But even though it's not the village she was born and raised, even though we could not repay her enough back then, the caster, Angelika helped and save the village. If not for her, this place full of people peacefully living together wouldn't be here right now."

At that time, a person is running and is having a hard time to breathe. Of course, the person was heading towards Christa and the other two ladies.

"Uh... I think I already heard about Angelika saving the village more than twice now, what happened here back then?" Christa curiously asked the question to the mayor. However the mayor decided to not give a word as a woman were seen in the background, coming and running towards the three.

"Why don't you ask the one who knows a lot about you and Angelika?"

"Eh?" Christa tilted her head in confusion. Then suddenly, hands came out of nowhere and wraps itself around Christa. Obviously, the girl were surprised at that sudden moment.

"Wha...?" Both arms tightens its grasp on Christa, rendering her from moving even her arms. "I can't breathe..."

Christa stares at one of the arms wrapped around her, when she did, it's fair white skin and defined shape made Christa thought that it was from Angelika. "This arm... Angelika?"

Her face turned on to the right, where a girl whose hands were wrapped around Christa. The two came face to face with each other, the unknown girl speaks to Christa with a broad smile on her face and said, "It's been a long time since I last saw you, my little sister!"

For some reason, everyone did not say a word after the girl spoke to Christa. It's like they were waiting for Christa to answer the girl who called her as her little sister. And inside Christa's mind, she was completely confused and could not articulate a single word to speak. The only thing she could say with a blank expression on her face is, "Who are you...?"

Shock hits the young woman like a thunder, the girl is shaking as she slowly takes a few steps back, completely taken aback from the words Christa spat out. Her voice were stammering as she said, "I-impossible... y-you don't... remember m-me...?"

"No..." Christa then casually confirms the girl's question, that which another shocker like lightning strikes her really hard. Her body was twitching as if Christa hits her with lightning magic.

The mayor finally decided to step in order to help the girl to introduce herself to Christa, who she called her little sister.

"Well, it's been 8 years since you guys met and got seperated from each other, and she's still a child back then, it's only natural she'd forget some things and other people." The mayor finally steps in and talked to the girl who is crestfallen and devastated. "For now, why don't you try and reintroduce yourself to Christa?"

The girl's eyes lightens and is back on her feet, she clenched both her fist as she responded to the mayor of the village. "That's right. If she can't remember me, I just have to make her remember."

She then turned her attention and stares at Christa with complete focus and seriousness. Meanwhile, Christa is there, standing still as she gaze quietly at the girl. Still confused and perplexed at the girl's sudden actions.

"I am Aina..." The girl finally introduced herself as she composed herself. "...Your big sister."

Christa then gestured both her hands as she shakes her head. "Like I said, there's no way I have a sibling. My teacher took me alone."

"No no, I didn't mean we are sisters by blood, we became sisters when you and Angelika found me back then." Aina immediately answered back, an answer that finally give a little information why she calls Christa her sister. Hearing that, makes Christa ask her.

"Angelika and I found you...?" The words she spits out made Christa curious.

The mayor steps in the conversation once again and said, "Just like what she said, Christa. Why don't you both explore the village while she tells you the story? What do you think, Aina?"

Aina took the mayor's suggestion - to explore the town and tell her a story of what happened in the village of Eisvel and how they became sisters 8 years ago. Aina took a glance at Christa, as if she's trying to invite her to come without saying a word. Sure enough, Christa gets what the girl's intention just by looking at her sincere and pleading look.

'Well, I don't have to be in a hurry, I could even stay here for today, and it looks like she knows me and Angelika quite well, I guess I'll go with it.'

After thinking it through her head, Christa finally speaks to the girl. "Okay, I'll tag along with you. Let's take a walk around the village."

Her eyes lightens up, her happiness spread around her like a bright sun. "Yes! I'll take you around the village!" Her light is even more brighter than before that Christa has to cover her eyes with both her arms. "Too bright..."

"Alright then, mind if I take the weapons from you, Christa?" The mayor approaches her as she asked Christa to give her the weapons.

"Yes." Christa then takes the bag of swords out hanging around her back and shoulder, then she proceeds to hand it over to the mayor, that which the mayor eagerly takes it from Christa's hand. As Christa releases her grip from the bag, the mayor thought that it wasn't that heavy, seeing a young girl casually holding it and passing it on to her single-handedly, and so, she decided to take it by a single hand as well. But just as expected, the bag of swords fell on the ground with her hand still on the handle.

'It's this heavy?' the mayor spoke and was surprised to how heavy it was. She then tries to pull the bag up, now with using both her hands. "I didn't think that it was that heavy."

"Sorry, I forgot to tell you that it was." Christa sincerly apologizes to the mayor as she bows her head.

"It's fine, it's fine. It's my fault for thinking that I could handle it single-handedly." The mayor proceeded to laugh in an awkward way.

Christa offered a helping hand to the mayor, but to hide her embarrassment, the mayor responded with a resounding no. She then continues to speak to Christa and said, "You've done your job, now let me take care of the rest."

"Alright..."

"Now then, I'll take my leave and distribute these weapons to the people who will participate in the vampire boar hunting tonight. Enjoy your trip to our village!"

The mayor then walks away, with the bag of swords that is obviously giving her a hard time walking. Seeing this, the villager spat out a sigh before she speaks to Christa and Aina, telling them that she will follow the mayor. "The mayor is quite stubborn sometimes... Alright then, I'll go follow and help her, I'll see you around, you two."

The villager then ran towards the mayor to help her. It look like the mayor was still prideful and doesn't want the villager to lend her a hand, but eventually, she gave up and she had the villager help her taking the bag of swords. Then, the two disappeared from Aina and Christa's view.

After that, Aina turned her direction towards Christa. "Shall we go, too?"

"Alright." Christa responded and followed Aina's lead.
