Guilty Pleasures

It's the next day and we all wanted to experiment and sleep a night on our own. I can't do that... My aunts crazy, and I need Joshua to survive, I WANT him right now. But my mom calls me in a cold tone from downstairs. I make my way and see her leaning on the island in the middle of our kitchen holding her phone. "They want you to the police station." My mother says. My heard drops, my breathing gets a bit heavier, and I get changed and we head out.

While in the car I text Joshua.

I was called to the Police station... I text.

Same...

Do you know why? Joshua asked.

I have no clue. We didn't witness it, or would have caused it. But there might be resources to lead up to something. I reply.

We arrive and my mother and I walk in the rain until inside. We go to the second level and go to an investigator. But while I was going through the entrance, I saw everyone else there. Grace, Dawn, Angel, Jake, And obviously Joshua. Seems like I'm not alone. "Hello, Jenna. I'm Detective Giles, and you have been a suspect for the murder of Stella Grall." He says. He's a nice looking man, probably in his late 20s or early 30s with light brown hair and dark brown eyes. "May I ask how?" I ask curiously. "Well, before her death, she had been tagged on a post you had put up. It was a middle school graduation photo with the seven of you. The caption says: 'Wish you could disappear'." He explains.

Joshua.

I get called up next and I see Jenna walk out like she witnessed a huge accident, or like someone died. I glare at the others before I get up and make my way to the investigation room.

I take a seat across from a lady detective. "Hello, Joshua. My name is Detective Giles. You have been a suspect to the murder of Stella Grall. We have found out from Jenna Youngman that Stella likes you, is that correct?" He asks. Very straightforward... "Yes sir..." I say looking down at my shoes, playing with the laces of my hoodie. "From what we could find out, you had a thing with her. Did you two date at a point?" He asks looking up and down from time to his clipboard. "She liked me, I liked her. There wasn't much to it. Freshmen year ended with all of us going on our own path." I explain.

"Can you specify going on your own paths?"

"Stella grew with depression, Grace always hung out with the mathletes, Jake went into a shell, Dawn hung out with the seniors, Angel was always with the debate team, and Jenna stayed neutral. She didn't change, but she hung out with Model UN. I guess you can say we all formed and joined our own cliques." I explain, my heart accelerating every word I speak. "And what about you, Joshua?" He asks without looking up, writing away on his clipboard. "I just went to school and went home. Nothing more to that. Yes, I hang out with popular high school kids but there isn't anything to it." I explain. How am I a suspect, that's my question. "May I ask why I'm here? Specifically?"

"You see, there was a tape on your freshman year of you yelling at Stella. There wasn't an audio but it was seen you snatched a book from her." He looks up this time, speaking in a cold voice. As if he's saying I did it already.

"That was my older sisters book. She's deceased." I adjust the way I sit. "We will do a follow up tomorrow after school after speaking with more suspects. That's it for now, thank you for your time." Detective Giles says. I spring up and leave.

I'm glad that it's over.
