Black Mammoth

###Note###

The star rank system is from the original novel, the same with the bronze, silver, etc. adventurer system.

"How can this be? Just how can someone complete the quests so fast?"

"I have only 15 reputation points..."

"This guy again, do we know anything of him?"

"Not really, Guild Master"

Guilds and players couldn't help but curse at the gab between them. First to arrive at the city and now first adventurer.

Altough they didn't really understand the later, they could guess by the way that the Adventurer Association treated them.

-

Oblivious views to the turmoil he caused, Adam checked the new title.

[First Aventurer] (Unique Title)

All reputation earned +100%

50% Discount in Adventurer Association.

Enjoy Count status in any city where there is a branch of Adventurer Association.

'This is so great!' Adam almost spoke out loud with excitement, reputation was very hard earn, but now he even had Count status in the practically any human city.

He walked with quick steps toward an npc receptionist.

"I wish to receive my emblem" He said with his practiced smile.

"I see, you are first..." The receptionist said while taking something out "Here is your 1-Star Emblem, now you can receive 1-Star quests from the Association" The receptionist said in admiration.

"Alright, many thanks miss" Adam received the emblem with a smile. It was a like a bronze colored medal with a single star at the center.

"Congratulations brother, I wonder if you are free now... I obtained a quest that seems dangerous" It was Agil that contacted him.

"Dangerous?" Adam asked.

"It seems like an ordinary delivery quest but I can't put the items on my inventory and need to ride a cart. Is an A-rank quest so the rewards should be good, what do you think?" Agil explained.

"Alright, where is the delivery? I'll check if I can pick a quest to that place" Adam replied.

"Is at a barbarian town, Manafell"

"Alright, I'll meet you in a while" Adam said and closed the window.

He then proceeded to check the 1-star available quests.

As expected, there were too many of them to count.

There were some to collect herbs but he never heard the names of those herbs. Because of this he choose not to pick them yet.

This couldn't be helped, there shouldn't be any 1-star adventurer at this stage of the game, only after exploring different areas would more materials be known to players.

He filtered the quests to those related to Manafell town and the list shrinked inmediatly.

Only seven quests were available.

'Find the town chief son... no I'm not a babysitter.

Clothes for the winter... this seems too easy...

There you go, mammoth hunting it is' Adam choose the quest and left the building.

-

"Everything ready?" Adam met with Agil at the city gates.

"Yes, we can go now" Agil replied and they walked out.

Adam was honestly a bit disappointed he expected for the cart to be pulled by horses.

He sighed while looking at Agil pulling the wooden cart by himself.

-

After ten minutes they could no longer see the city as they have entered a forest.

"Are you sure you need to pass through here" Adam asked, the terrain wasn't exactly friendly to be pulling the cart.

"Yes, is neccessary that I don't go trough the official trade route" Agil said tiredly.

"What kind of class us that anyway? A trafficker of sorts?" Adam laughed, he already knew his class anyway.

"Ehm yes something like that. I am a black merchant. What is your class? You have never told me" Agil asked, it was obvious that he didn't have just a starter class.

"A monk" Adam replied and punched the air.

"No wonder, I never saw you with a weapon. Are those gloves your weapon?" Agil realized.

"Yes, the gloves are replaced with the guantlets, I just lost a equipment slot" Adam replied, it was true that he couldn't equip gloves as a type of armor like other players.

"Be ready, something is going to ambush us" Adam said, he could feel ten creatures behind the trees in front of them, their smell was awful.

Hearing him, Agil stopped for a second but seeing that Adam continued to walk, he followed too.

Adam stopped at the side of a thin tree, adjusted his balance and punched.

Pak!

His fist made the tree tremble as if it was about to fall, but what fell was a small creature.

Agil didn't manage to see what it was until Adam kicked it mid-air.

"A goblin..." Agil wasn't surprised to see them here.

Adam looked at the monster in front of him.

'An a rank quest is certainly complicated' Adam tought, it wasn't something that the average player could complete with two people..

Forest Goblin (Common)

Level: 15

Hp: 2,330/3,450

Agil realized that Adam dealt 1,000 damage with a single kick and wondered just how could he be so strong.

Adam was more surprised at the goblin defenses, altough he didn't attack with his fist, the damage of his kick should't be so low.

Specially considering that he golbin was only two levels higher than him.

Nine more goblins rushed at them with one of them shooting arrows from a tree branch.

The injured goblin charged at Adam but before he got too close, he kicked the ground and sent dust to Adam's eyes.

"Fuck you little green man" Adam shouted, he entered a blind state for 3 seconds.

The overconfident goblin smirked and rushed at him with a dagger in hand.

Even in a blind state, Adam could clearly feel his sorroundings, his senses were much more than just sight.

Before the goblin could get close enough to attack, it received a punch on the forehead that stopped him on his tracks.

Adam attacked with his long leg as if it was a whip, the attack landed at the goblin right side and killed it.

Four more goblins came at him while the rest tried to bypass him and go for Agil who had a dagger in hand.

Not waiting, Adam also rushed at them. This time, before he got close to them, he closed his eyes.

The dust attack failed to blind him and when the goblins reacted, Adam was already at their side.

Adam's punches would send them flying so he attacked trying to prevent that.

A single punch was enough to take half their hp, after two punches they died.

The goblins couldn't put any resistance against him, his speed and strength was many times stronger than theirs.

Even a lord of the same couldn't defend itself against Adam, much less a common goblin.

Still, Adam still complained at the lack of suitable skills, most skills required swords, daggers and the like to activate them.

Agil didn't have a problem protecting himself, he was actually very skilled with daggers.

Adam arrived and kicked a goblin in the back of its head with all his strength. The goblin was sent flying to the side and clashed against another goblin.

Agil killed a goblin in front of him and inmediatly charged at the second one.

The second goblin started walking backwards trying to evade his attacks when Adam kicked him and sent it straight to Agil's dagger.

Agil finished the goblin with two quick stabs.

After that, they turned to the other two goblins, Agil burned a Magic Scroll and a fireball consumed most the injured goblin.

Adam arrived at the side of the other and grabbed it's neck with an iron grip before killing it with two punches.

Only one goblin remained, still shooting arrows at them.

"You aim really sucks" Adam laughed and rushed at the tree where the goblin was at.

At the same time, flying dagger struck the goblin forehead and made it fell from the branch.

Adam smiled at the mid air goblin, with the full force his charge he punched the goblin in the mouth.

The goblin head exploded.

It took then less than a minute to kill the goblins.

Agil couldn't help his surprise at the monk's ridiculous damage.

The last goblin was corrupted by Adam to drop the Dust Kick Skillbook.

It was a dirty attack, very much to his liking.

[Dust Kick] (Active)

Kick the ground to blind the target for 3 seconds.

Effect depends on enviroment.

It wasn't much but at least he could use the skill.

Agil was shocked to see a common goblin dripping a skillbook. 'Just how high is his luck?'

Not caring for his reactions, Adam signaled to keep walking.

-

They met six more ambushes like the previous ones, three of which had a Lord rank goblin as a leader before coming out of the forest.

"Look, that should be Manafell Town" Agil said in excitment. They finally could leave the goblin territory.

"Yeah, we need to hurry or we won't make it there before the time limit" Adam said and resumed his walk.

Agil who was dead tired of pulling the cart had grit his teeth and follow.

There was only a two hundres meters between them and the town.

They arrived at the gates were two mountains of muscles stopped them.

"What are you carrying?" One of them asked.

"This are the goods that the Town Chief requested... from Deaf Rat" Agil answered and took out an emblem.

"Good, come in the chief has been waiting for you" The guard said happily and signaled them to enter.

Adam couldn't help but wonder what the cart had that would make them so happy all of sudden.

After a few minutes they arrived at the town chief building.

Agil was covered in sweat.

The barbarian chief greeted them with a smile.

"Thanks for bringing these goods, here let me reward you" He said and took out some items.

System: Quest completed. Reward: 12 Adventurer Reputation, 2 Barbarian Reputation Points, Silver-Rank Space Ring, Exp +350,000

Adam received reputation and a space ring. It was a very useful tool that could carry a large amount of items, specially useful for merchants.

Adam was a bit disappointed at the rewards, as an A rank quest it was truly bad.

Agil on the other hand received much better rewards and was brimming with happiness.

"Chief, I heard you needed a hand with mammoths?' Adam asked, the quest only said to come at the village to receive more information first.

"Oh, so you have accepted my request. Yes, some travelers have reported a big mammoth ten kilometes to the south. The town soldiers are too busy to deal with them. Can you deal with them?" The chief explained.

"Alright, I'll be going then" Adam accepted the quest.

"I'll return and complete the quest at Black Dragon City" Agil said.

Adam nodded and started running to the south gates.

Now that he was alone, he felt much better, previously he didn't obtain the drops that he wanted and the exp was very low.

He simply couldn't exploit the rates with Agil around.

-

He soon arrived at the area where the mammoth was supposed to be, he didn't have trouble spotting the ten meters tall creature at the foot of a hill.

'Aren't mammoths supposed to live in cold enviroments? How did this one ended up.here?' Adam tought while looking at his target.

Black Mammoth (High Lord)

Level: 28
