Riots

She was about to wake Uncle Tek up when her phone started to ring. She glanced at the grandfather clock, it was 3 am and she quickly glanced at the caller ID before picking up the phone. Her heart calmed down by a notch when she saw it was Ji Yu.

She answered the call and ran back to her room.

"Hello..." she said before she choked on her words and started to cry.

"Darling.... Baby... Ran.. Did anything happened? My phone ran out of battery, I just checked into a hotel and charged my phone and was surprised to see many missed calls from you," he explained. His heart clenched in pain at the thought of her crying and him being far away.

"sob sob sob.. Nothing.. Nothing at all. I am glad you are alright. Did I tell you I love you?" asked Ru Ran as she continue to stifle her sobs.

"No you did not, but you just did in a way," a smile formed on his lips. His eyes shining with warmth.

"I love you. Do what you need to do and come back safe okay? I love you and I miss you." said Ru Ran now sounding more calm.

"I love you too. I need to be here for a few days, meanwhile I will get Shin Tong to accompany you okay? You should rest and sleep, tomorrow is a long day for you. Make sure you eat your meals and take care," he said.

"You sound like a nagging wife. You better rest too. Just call me often okay, and is there anyone I can contact if I can't get through you?" she asked.

"You can call Darren, he is on his way here, I have saved his number in your phone, you want to talk about why you were being emotional earlier on?" asked Ji Yu now that his wife is more calm and composed.

"I had a bad dream about the hospital exploding and you were in it, I woke up panicking because it was so real. Can you avoid the hospital tomorrow and secretly move people out of the hospital? Or get the bomb squad to check? Sorry I know it sound crazy. The thought of losing you...., " Ru Ran could not complete her sentence.

"Baby... I know the feeling. Thank you, thank you for loving me. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH and I really wished I was beside you now. I will be careful," reassured Ji Yu.

Ji Yu continued to talk and when he heard no reply, he knew she was asleep. He left the line that way without hanging up.

Ru Ran managed to sleep for 1 hour and a half after talking to Ji Yu, she did not have any more nightmares and when she awaken she could hear soft snores from her phone and she knew Ji Yu was still sleeping, his snores were like a soothing music to her heart. She hanged up the phone and got dressed.

She and Uncle Tek went straight to the factory for a site visit. On the way there, the road was jammed and there was a crowd of protestor protesting at the side. She then received a phone call informing that someone had caused the factory workers to misunderstood the reason of her visit. They assumed she was going to fire them all once she took over the factory. She had a feeling this matter was instigated by someone. Her bad feeling from last night resurfaced. She knew she had to be strong, by coming back she is exposing herself for her enemies. This is something she needs to face.

Uncle Tek called for reinforcements back up to ensure her safety. She waited patiently in the car, after taking a deep breath, she got down from the car. The reinforcements Uncle Tek had called just arrived as well. The moment, her figure was seen, the crowd became wild and suddenly a bunch of things came hurling towards her. She opened her big umbrella to protect herself from the bad eggs and vegetables that were being thrown to her. Uncle Tek karate chop a brick to dust that almost hit Mei Xin, Ru Ran's female bodyguard. Mei Xin's eyes widened with horror, it was a near miss. Uncle Tek appeared so cool in her eyes.

Ru Ran used her phone as a megaphone to transmit her voice and at the corner of her eyes she noticed a group of reporters, this is definitely a work of somebody. She smiled at the crowd before addressing them. Seeing her fearless and looking so calm, the rioting workers were stunned for a moment and a man suddenly spoke up to hush the crowd and allowed her to speak. Ru Ran looked at the man and gave him an appreciative smile. This man despite not a leader but she could see the crowd respected him.
