Du Ru Ran became an orphan at the age of 5 years old after a deliberate car accident. She was then taken in by her uncle. Life was truly tragic but being a smart girl, she managed to turn the tides around. She plans to avenge the death of her parents and her little brother who she did not get to meet in this lifetime. At that time, thank her lucky or unlucky star, she met a pair of mother and son, who gave her some warmth in her moment of total darkness. 

Years later, when they meet again, he stuck to her like a fly she could not get rid off. He kept insisting she took advantage of him when they were young and insisted that she take full responsibility for him.

20 years ago:
"Little girl, you really need to take responsibility on this young master when we are older. I am never going to let you go." He whispered into her ears. Due to his illness, he somehow grew up a little mature than peers his age. Hence, it wasn't a normal for him to be thinking about his future at such young age. In fact, since he was three years old, he had been groomed to be a fine young man in order to prepare him as he is the next heir of his prestigious family. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

At the present:
She thought a dumb cupid made a mistake by accidentally release an arrow and the arrow went straight to a 7 year old boy and now, 20 years later, he is delusional.

"Why can't you leave me alone? I really have no time, no room for another person. I am pretty occupied with getting my revenge. Go and fly away," she said while making the hand gestures of shooing a pesky fly away.

"You really don't need to work hard on my behalf, I am touched that you worry about my well being and feeling. As long as I get to see you, that is all I require. You really don't have to do anything."

Ru Ran felt her head is going to explode, shameless, when did I, how on earth did he manage to lift himself so high that even direct language don't get to his thick skull? Fine, if you don't want to leave, I will walk away.

True to her thoughts she walked away huffing and puffing, fuming at the fly she can't get off.

"Wifey wait up!!!"

"Seriously, what do you see in me?" she asked impatiently. 

Instead of answering her immediately, he spun he around to face him, pushed her to lean against a nearby wall, locked her body with his legs and arm in order to stop her from escaping. His facial expression turn serious, gone the silly demeanor he had put up earlier. 

Her heartbeat increased and her palms started to sweat. She stuttered, "What.. What.. Just what do you plan to do?" 

"I am going to answer your question. Look me in the eyes. I see a beautiful lady, a stubborn one, cold exterior but inside she is kind and afraid to get hurt. She gave me a kiss 20 years ago and gave me the strength to live and from that day onwards, I have given my heart to her."

My reflection in your eyes

Ru Ran rushed to Uncle Tek, he was bleeding from his abdomen. The memories of the car accident, the smell of blood all rushed back and made her trembled. Her face was as white as sheet. She knelt beside Uncle Tek and prayed that Uncle Tek will be alright. Mei Xin wasted no time to call the ambulance service and at the same time, she knelt down and tore a big cloth from her pants and compressed Uncle Tek wound. Mei Xin knew Ru Ran was too distraught at the moment to think straight, the usual brilliance in her boss's eyes is gone and is replaced by a dim and lifeless appearance.


"Miss, don't be sad, this old man, is glad to see you grow up...


Uncle Tek words jolt Ru Ran out of her trance.


"You are going to be fine, okay? Anyone called the doctor?!" she hollered.


Mei Xin informed Ru Ran that she did and a few seconds after, the ambulance siren can be heard blazing loudly from a distance.


The primary care responders, pushed everyone back and started to do their work. They setup drip, they clean and bandaged the wound and reassured Mei Xin and Ru Ran thatmost likely the bullet missed vital organs as Uncle Tek did have torrential bleeding and his vitals remained stable. Mei Xin volunteered to follow Uncle Tek to the hospital. She refused to let go of Uncle Tek's hand.


She is 20 years younger than Uncle Tek and when she started working for Ru Ran, she had long admire Uncle Tek, but today she knew her heart was about to burst into pieces when she saw him lying in a pool of blood. Life is short and if she doesn't fight for her own happiness, no one else will. This hand, she doesn't plan on letting go. 


Ji Yu woke up a to an explosive sound nearby. The motel he was staying vibrated along the booming sound. He quickly jumped out of bed put on a shirt and ran out of the building. What he saw shocked him, the hospital was no longer there. He became very angry, whoever who wanted to catch his attention has succeeded and he will make them regret. Whoever it is, is blatantly disrespecting the value of human lives in a such coward manner. Why hurt the innocents? There are other patients in that hospital receiving treatment. 


That hospital is the hospital build by his parents for him when he was receiving treatment here. After his treatment, it became the main hospital for the orphanage and surrounding residents. Due to Ru Ran's weird dream, he took it to believe it and had asked his people to start evacuating the hospital. He hoped that no lives were lost. His phone rang and it was Darren. 


"Yu, we did not manage to evacuate everyone, we lost 50 lives, mostly those that were on breathing support machine, could not be transported out. We managed to save 2500 people."


Ji Yu sighed for the life lost. He will definitely get to the bottom of things.


"I have news from Country Z as well, an attempt has been made on Ru Ran's life," reported Darren.


Ji Yu almost lost his grip on his phone when he heard Darren's news.


"Compensate the families, give them an explanation that an act of terror is launch on me and my family. I will get to the bottom of things and personally allow them to do whatever to those scumbags. I want to fly back to Country Z. Sorry buddy, you have to help me with things here," said Ji Yu as he hang up.


He made a call immediately to Ru Ran, however her phone was unable to go through. He called his parents instead and informed them to be extra cautious. Someone had already made a bold move to attack him and Ru Ran at the same time.


He wasted no time to board on his private plane to return to Country Z. He is worried about Ru Ran and praying that she is alive and well. Their life has just begun and he had been looking forward to growing old with her. He had always envisioned himself and Ru Ran holding hands in their old age while walking around shopping or strolling.
