Du Ru Ran became an orphan at the age of 5 years old after a deliberate car accident. She was then taken in by her uncle. Life was truly tragic but being a smart girl, she managed to turn the tides around. She plans to avenge the death of her parents and her little brother who she did not get to meet in this lifetime. At that time, thank her lucky or unlucky star, she met a pair of mother and son, who gave her some warmth in her moment of total darkness. 

Years later, when they meet again, he stuck to her like a fly she could not get rid off. He kept insisting she took advantage of him when they were young and insisted that she take full responsibility for him.

20 years ago:
"Little girl, you really need to take responsibility on this young master when we are older. I am never going to let you go." He whispered into her ears. Due to his illness, he somehow grew up a little mature than peers his age. Hence, it wasn't a normal for him to be thinking about his future at such young age. In fact, since he was three years old, he had been groomed to be a fine young man in order to prepare him as he is the next heir of his prestigious family. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

At the present:
She thought a dumb cupid made a mistake by accidentally release an arrow and the arrow went straight to a 7 year old boy and now, 20 years later, he is delusional.

"Why can't you leave me alone? I really have no time, no room for another person. I am pretty occupied with getting my revenge. Go and fly away," she said while making the hand gestures of shooing a pesky fly away.

"You really don't need to work hard on my behalf, I am touched that you worry about my well being and feeling. As long as I get to see you, that is all I require. You really don't have to do anything."

Ru Ran felt her head is going to explode, shameless, when did I, how on earth did he manage to lift himself so high that even direct language don't get to his thick skull? Fine, if you don't want to leave, I will walk away.

True to her thoughts she walked away huffing and puffing, fuming at the fly she can't get off.

"Wifey wait up!!!"

"Seriously, what do you see in me?" she asked impatiently. 

Instead of answering her immediately, he spun he around to face him, pushed her to lean against a nearby wall, locked her body with his legs and arm in order to stop her from escaping. His facial expression turn serious, gone the silly demeanor he had put up earlier. 

Her heartbeat increased and her palms started to sweat. She stuttered, "What.. What.. Just what do you plan to do?" 

"I am going to answer your question. Look me in the eyes. I see a beautiful lady, a stubborn one, cold exterior but inside she is kind and afraid to get hurt. She gave me a kiss 20 years ago and gave me the strength to live and from that day onwards, I have given my heart to her."

My reflection in your eyes

"Yu, next time promise me, you won't keep anything from me, okay?" said Ru Ran after Ji Yu finished speaking.


He nodded his head solemnly. He then told her about the spirit master Ken recommended them. He informed her about Ken's intention towards Ai Sha.


Ru Ran then remembered the day when she connected with Ai Sha's body, that woman is truly pitiful. She sensed Ai Sha's longing heart for love.


"Okay, I will get Darren to pass her my message before we let her go," he said and did not plan to elaborate further.


Ru Ran then told Ji Yu to rest beside her because she knew he had been worn out. Their baby is growing obediently in her womb, every day when the nurse comes in to do a fetal heart doppler, the two of them would get so excited. 


In a dark cell, Ai Sha had news passed on to her how she had been disowned by Du Wen Hai because he had found out that she is not his daughter and for many years he had been fooled and cuckold. He had filed against her for the rights to her shares and he had won. She now owns nothing. Her so called real father despite knowing she had been captured, had not made any moves to save her. She was allowed two phone calls, one she made to Ah Li, the other, she called Young Master Han, in hopes he would save her. He after all had expressed his love many times. Yet when the time had come for him to prove it, he disappointed her. She did think of Ken but she assumed he had also long given up on her. 


She was glad that this happened as it opened her eyes towards the people she had associate her life with. She let out a miserable laugh. I am only a bastard child who is nothing but a mere pawn. Why? Why bother having me? Children aren't they supposed to be the product of two people in love? Why bring them to the world if there is no sincerity from the very beginning? She could not hold back any of tears. Thinking about the day, she went crazy, she was indeed crazy, her enmity towards Ru Ran disappeared on this lonely night. 


She heard from the guards that Ru Ran is still vegetable like. If it was the previous her, she would feel elated with this sort of news but right now, her heart felt heavy. She realised that Ru Ran had worse fate than her and she now wish that Ru Ran would get better and maybe just maybe they could truly be friends. She has seen and heard that Ru Ran treats those who are nice to her well and sincerely. 


Her thoughts were interrupted by a knocking sound. To her surprise, Ken was standing at the door. She blinked her eyes a few times, before she rubbed both eyes forcefully. 


"Come, I have come to take you home," his deep voice travelled to her ears. 


She pinched her arm only to jump out in pain. 


Ken chuckled at her silly antics. He then placed both of his hands under her armpits and lifted her up. 


"You.. You.. Please, let me down, I am filthy," she protested. 


Ignoring her pleas, he then carried her out princess style. At the exit, Darren signalled for him to stop. 


"If she doesn't have any good intentions against Madam, Master won't let her go in the future. It was Madam's decision to let her go. Madam apologised that she did not know that Miss Ai Sha's soul was as lonely as hers and wishes that Miss Ai Sha can find her own happiness and wishes Miss Ai Sha all the best," said Darren robotically. 


Ken waved his hand indicating point taken. He that strode out with Ai Sha in his arms. Ai Sha was still surprised by Darren words but the last few sentences she took it to heart, she will get up again but this time, she wants to find true happiness. When you are at your lowest point, there is no other place to go but up. I will be a better person, she vowed.
