Du Ru Ran became an orphan at the age of 5 years old after a deliberate car accident. She was then taken in by her uncle. Life was truly tragic but being a smart girl, she managed to turn the tides around. She plans to avenge the death of her parents and her little brother who she did not get to meet in this lifetime. At that time, thank her lucky or unlucky star, she met a pair of mother and son, who gave her some warmth in her moment of total darkness. 

Years later, when they meet again, he stuck to her like a fly she could not get rid off. He kept insisting she took advantage of him when they were young and insisted that she take full responsibility for him.

20 years ago:
"Little girl, you really need to take responsibility on this young master when we are older. I am never going to let you go." He whispered into her ears. Due to his illness, he somehow grew up a little mature than peers his age. Hence, it wasn't a normal for him to be thinking about his future at such young age. In fact, since he was three years old, he had been groomed to be a fine young man in order to prepare him as he is the next heir of his prestigious family. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

At the present:
She thought a dumb cupid made a mistake by accidentally release an arrow and the arrow went straight to a 7 year old boy and now, 20 years later, he is delusional.

"Why can't you leave me alone? I really have no time, no room for another person. I am pretty occupied with getting my revenge. Go and fly away," she said while making the hand gestures of shooing a pesky fly away.

"You really don't need to work hard on my behalf, I am touched that you worry about my well being and feeling. As long as I get to see you, that is all I require. You really don't have to do anything."

Ru Ran felt her head is going to explode, shameless, when did I, how on earth did he manage to lift himself so high that even direct language don't get to his thick skull? Fine, if you don't want to leave, I will walk away.

True to her thoughts she walked away huffing and puffing, fuming at the fly she can't get off.

"Wifey wait up!!!"

"Seriously, what do you see in me?" she asked impatiently. 

Instead of answering her immediately, he spun he around to face him, pushed her to lean against a nearby wall, locked her body with his legs and arm in order to stop her from escaping. His facial expression turn serious, gone the silly demeanor he had put up earlier. 

Her heartbeat increased and her palms started to sweat. She stuttered, "What.. What.. Just what do you plan to do?" 

"I am going to answer your question. Look me in the eyes. I see a beautiful lady, a stubborn one, cold exterior but inside she is kind and afraid to get hurt. She gave me a kiss 20 years ago and gave me the strength to live and from that day onwards, I have given my heart to her."

A story about love and revenge. (I hope so)

My reflection in your eyes

He hoped in his heart that the spirit master can help in Ru Ran's condition. The spirit master was the one who helped him stay in contact with his father's soul after his father's death before his father was chased away by the spirit master for reincarnation. At that time the spirit master did warn him that ghost/soul cannot be trusted fully. Ken insisted to the spirit master that there is no way his father would want to harm him or lead him to a self destructive road.


He was plucked out of his thoughts when his phone rang. He then realised that Ai Sha had long excused herself when she saw him immersed deep in thoughts, leaving him alone with his helpers.


Ken recognised the voice, its Mei Xin. His heart could not help but feel anxious yet excited.


The words he wanted to say, stuck in his throat, refused to budge.


"Mei Xin here, I just want to say thank you for letting us go. We.. We are getting married tomorrow and hope you are willing to give me away...


Ken could not believe his ears. Today seems to be the day that everybody is thanking him for his good deeds. It felt satisfying this novel feeling. Plus, his sister is not only angry but hoping he could play a big role in her big day. His lonely heart doesn't feel so bleak anymore. Unknowingly, a tear rolled down his cheek.


"Em. Okay. Just let me know the time and place," he said quickly as to not let her hear his quivering voice.


His right hand man who was standing beside him could not help but wonder if his boss had been replaced by some wandering soul like in those transmigration books his girlfriend loves to read or did his boss experienced a rebirth? He decided that he had been influenced by his girlfriend and he should not think too much.


"Em boss, what.. What if it's a trap?" he asked just to remind his boss that just a moment ago, the two siblings were on opposite end.


"This time, I just want to believe that goodness exist. I have good grasp of human nature and character. I believe in my sister's integrity," he said in a proud tone.


Listening to his boss's words made him questioned many things, boss, if you had good judge of character why did you insist on going against Ji Yu in the beginning and even went that far to work with Ah Li. But as a subordinate he kept these thoughts to himself.


Who else if it is not Ji Yu on the other end.


"Heads up. Mom and dad want to meet you, I told them you are not too bad, but mom might just give you a slap for bullying Xin Xin earlier. It's being held in the hospital because you know Ran.. 


"If you trust me, I have a better venue....


Ji Yu listened attentively on his end. Ken's proposal definitely doable. The best solution to their current situation. Ru Ran felt down but did not expressed it but how could he not know what she is thinking. She felt because of her,. Mei Xin is not getting the wedding she deserved. 


They ended the conversation after some detailed discussion. Two great mind, when combined, the result will be definitely nothing less that extraordinary. 


Ji Yu then informed Brother Tek that all he and Mei Xin required to do is just turn up for their big day. Leave everything else to Ken and himself. 


Ken will be in charge of the venue and the wedding dress. Ji Yu will be in charge of the food, cake and bridegroom's attire. Security details will be joined responsibility. 


Ru Ran who was listening at the side could not help but marvelled at Ji Yu's softened and relaxed expression. It seems that the past had truly been put behind.
