Du Ru Ran became an orphan at the age of 5 years old after a deliberate car accident. She was then taken in by her uncle. Life was truly tragic but being a smart girl, she managed to turn the tides around. She plans to avenge the death of her parents and her little brother who she did not get to meet in this lifetime. At that time, thank her lucky or unlucky star, she met a pair of mother and son, who gave her some warmth in her moment of total darkness. 

Years later, when they meet again, he stuck to her like a fly she could not get rid off. He kept insisting she took advantage of him when they were young and insisted that she take full responsibility for him.

20 years ago:
"Little girl, you really need to take responsibility on this young master when we are older. I am never going to let you go." He whispered into her ears. Due to his illness, he somehow grew up a little mature than peers his age. Hence, it wasn't a normal for him to be thinking about his future at such young age. In fact, since he was three years old, he had been groomed to be a fine young man in order to prepare him as he is the next heir of his prestigious family. He fell asleep with a smile on his face.

At the present:
She thought a dumb cupid made a mistake by accidentally release an arrow and the arrow went straight to a 7 year old boy and now, 20 years later, he is delusional.

"Why can't you leave me alone? I really have no time, no room for another person. I am pretty occupied with getting my revenge. Go and fly away," she said while making the hand gestures of shooing a pesky fly away.

"You really don't need to work hard on my behalf, I am touched that you worry about my well being and feeling. As long as I get to see you, that is all I require. You really don't have to do anything."

Ru Ran felt her head is going to explode, shameless, when did I, how on earth did he manage to lift himself so high that even direct language don't get to his thick skull? Fine, if you don't want to leave, I will walk away.

True to her thoughts she walked away huffing and puffing, fuming at the fly she can't get off.

"Wifey wait up!!!"

"Seriously, what do you see in me?" she asked impatiently. 

Instead of answering her immediately, he spun he around to face him, pushed her to lean against a nearby wall, locked her body with his legs and arm in order to stop her from escaping. His facial expression turn serious, gone the silly demeanor he had put up earlier. 

Her heartbeat increased and her palms started to sweat. She stuttered, "What.. What.. Just what do you plan to do?" 

"I am going to answer your question. Look me in the eyes. I see a beautiful lady, a stubborn one, cold exterior but inside she is kind and afraid to get hurt. She gave me a kiss 20 years ago and gave me the strength to live and from that day onwards, I have given my heart to her."

My reflection in your eyes

Ji Yu continued to chant the mantra beside Ru Ran the whole night. He was worried because Ru Ran haven't regained her consciousness but he calmed his chaotic heart down and concentrate on his mantra chanting. The spirit master's words echoed in his ear, " The question is how much of will she has and how much is she willing, only then her heart can be set free." He is worried that if he stop chanting, she may never ever wake up again.


The next morning, Ken came to visit as he did receive any reply from Ji Yu. He was shocked to see Ji Yu in a trance state. He asked Darren if anything happened out of the ordinary but Darren just shook his head and informed that after Ru Ran had a seizure, Ji Yu had been in that state. No one can extract him or stopped him. He did not stop to eat, drink or rest. Even when his parents came, no one could stop him, it was as if he was possessed.


Ken looked around and decided to walk around the hospital, sure enough, he met the man he wanted to meet.


"En, I can see you have been enlightened," he said while stroking his beard.


"What about them? Can't you help?" Ken asked anxiously.


"Young man, the first time I met you, I knew your heart is not bad but tainted, instead of worrying about others, you need to cleanse your soul, and the other soul you seemed to have an interest in," said the Spirit master smilingly.


"Master! What nonsense about other soul? My tainted soul might just be ill. By the way master, can't you help them?" he asked again.


"It is good that now you can start to care about others, previously I was worried that your heart can't be softened. I can't help them.  Only those who help themselves can be helped," he said mysteriously.


"Master, would it hurt just to speak in a non twisted way?" he said in frustration.


"Young man, if life was as simple as that, why do you think there is suffering?" said the spirit master ignoring Ken's words totally.


Ken just shook his head and then help but lower his head in a dejected mode. He met the spirit master by chance. At that time, after his father's death, when he was begging for food, someone kind hearted gave him a meat bun but before he could take a bite, an old man, dressed even more worse than him, asked him for half the share of his bun, initially he hesitated but finally he gave in. The old man then laughed heartily and said, "Not bad, not bad. Your path won't always be dark. Since you did a good deed, I can grant you a wish."


He remember his younger self mockingly answered, "I wish to speak with the dead, can you do it old man?"


"I was hoping you would not request it but since I promised you, I will grant you this but words of the dead cannot be fully trusted."


Ken decided that since the spirit master has already spoken there is nothing he can do to intervene and it is all up to the two to work things out, he might as well go cleanse his soul, after all his hands were indeed tainted by blood. He wanted to say his goodbyes to the spirit master but only to realise that he had been standing alone. He scratched his head and walked back to Ru Ran's ward.


The scene he saw shocked him, now not only Ji Yu is chanting, but a few other people joined in. Some of the faces he did not recognised, all of them had a solemn look on their face. Even Ai Sha was in the crowd. How did she arrive? Didn't she say this morning, she does not want to get involve in any of Ru Ran's matter but wishes Ru Ran all the best?


"If I stay, would I meet him?" she asked.


"No, he will never exist and after you have decided, everything about him will cease to exist in your heart," answered the spirit master.


Ru Ran closed her eyes, all she could think of her reflection in his eyes. She opened her eyes and answered confidently " If this is the case, I rather go through million sufferings than forget he ever exist."
