Mental energy

Ken cradled Ai Sha gently in his arms and rushed out to the van where Ru Ran and Ji Yu were waiting. They have brought along Ji Yu's trusted team of health care workers including Dr Toh.

Ji Yu stayed back to ensure that Ru Ran did not run off to get entangled in this mess, she has another month to go before the fetus in her stabilise. Despite Ai Sha being somewhat related to them, and Ai Sha repenting, he will not allow Ru Ran to hurt herself of their baby. If it was up to him, he would have left her at home safe in the company of his trusted people but his heart softened when she pleaded to come out and lent a hand.

Both Ru Ran and Ji Yu gave way for Dr Teoh and team to work on Ai Sha who had lost her consciousness. Oxygen was delivered to her via high flow mask with a reservoir bag. A blanket warmer was placed on her as well to increase her temperature as she suffered from hypothermia. They need to get her to the hospital for full body xray to look for fractures as her body is battered and blue. Her beautiful face suffered as well.

Ken was acting like a fish out of water. He could not sit still and was very anxious. Ru Ran was dizzy just from watching him.

She got up and took hold on his hand.

"Hey! Stop it! She is going to be fine! She is a fighter! She will be alright, okay!" said Ru Ran.

Ken calmed himself down when he heard Ru Ran words. He believes Ai Sha is not going to give up as well, she is a fighter just as Ru Ran said. He is going to believe in her. Just as he was about to utter his thanks, he could hear a sour voice speaking and when he looked at the source of the voice, definitely a man's face who had just tasted vinigar.

"Cousin, Ai Sha is going to be fine! Stop getting all fidgety like ants in your pants, if you continue to act this way, I might need to punch you a few times to set you straight. Wifey, it's okay, when it comes to comforting we men have better ways!" glared Ji Yu at Ken. He could not help but feel at lost when his wife left his side to comfort another man.

Ru Ran glared at Ji Yu and went back to his side without saying another word. This unreasonable man, only know how to use his fist to solve problems. She shook her head and could not help but smile in the end. Such a silly man, in this sort of situation he still have the energy to feel jealous.

She pinched his waist as to warn him to behave. Ji Yu knew she was angry and did not continue to harp on the subject. He just took her hands and patted them gently as a sign he is sorry. They then smiled at each other.

Their interactions did not go unnoticed by Ken who went off tangent in his thinking by envisioning a future of him and Ai Sha interacting in similar manner.

He then looked at Ai Sha battered face and the anger in him rose again. He really wants to tear that bastard who did this apart! He then turned to Ru Ran and Ji Yu and said, "I have to trouble you guys once more, can you take care of her while I settle those unfinish business." He really wanted to swear left and right to express his anger and displeasure but he knew he have to mind his language in front of a pregnant lady.

"It's alright, we are family after all, no need to talk too much, just go!" said Ji Yu. Ken's heart warmed up to those words. Family. For years, he wanted revenge for his broken family and childhood, however, the very same person he went against is the one who gave him most warmth and support.

Ji Yu and Ru Ran nodded as they watch him go, but before he left, Ken planted a kiss on Ai Sha's forehead and whispered in her ear, "I'll make them pay for all your sufferings!"

Ai Sha who was going in and out of consciousness, had heard their earlier conversation as well as this promise of his clearly. Her quickened heart rate could be seen normalising as she heard his vow.

Ru Ran went and sat beside Ai Sha after Ken left. That day when Ru Ran was unconscious when everyone was chanting for her recovery, a weird phenomenon happened which she could not explain nor speak up about it. She could only remember that with each chant, she could somehow received the individuals exact thoughts, like some messages to her when they were chanting.

Ai Sha was the last to arrive that day and when she started chanting for Ru Ran, their souls were connected for a moment, Ru Ran could feel her sorrow and how sorry she was towards her and how Ai Sha truly wished for her recovery and happiness. There was also this small voice that hope they could start over and be friends. However, the moment Ru Ran awaken, she never had the chance to meet up and reconcile properly with Ai Sha. Maybe this is heaven's way of working in mysterious ways.

Ru Ran took Ai Sha's hands and clasped it together. Even though she didn't learn the chant but because of Ji Yu's constant chanting, Ru Ran remember the chant by heart. Ru Ran started to chant and hopes to send Ai Sha her innermost thoughts and hopes.

"Ai Sha, I hope you can hear me, I received your well wishes the last time we met, I know how you were only a pawn in our mess, I don't fault you any more nor hold any grudges. I wish you continue to move forward and there is a good guy, waiting for you here, to recover, don't disappoint him. I would like to be your friend too," said Ru Ran mentally.

She figured out that the chant is a form of mental energy that transmit another person's wishes to the other person who is on the other side, to help them decide to stay on and fight on.

Far away, in an isolated mountain, a man in all white robe, was looking out at the horizon, while stroking his beard with a smile on his face. "It appears she has understood the mystery of life, but my child, life is an onion, there are more layers for you to peel to understand the whole essence of life," murmured the old man while chuckling.
