She got kicked out?

Darren asked them to take a seat before he disappeared to prepare tea, coffee and light snacks. If his memory serves him well, his future father in law is a coffee person while his future mother in law loves exotic tea. Thankfully he was planning to visit them and had prepared some gifts in advance, he decided to use those in advance since they made their way to his place. How could he not know their reason for showing up. Since their goal is a common goal, why not just go along with it.

Shin Tong was panicking in the bathroom, she could hear her parents voices clearly. She looked down at her clothing, she was dressed in Darren's shirt and his shorts she found in his closet. His shirt was baggy on her with the length covering her knee. She had to tie up the waistband of the shorts to keep it from falling. She was worried her parents might misunderstood their relationship with her current appearance. She took a deep breath as she splashed water on her face. No matter what, she still have to face them. She will try to explain if they misunderstood. Feeling resolute, she turned the handle of the washroom doorknob. As she was about to leave, she froze as she heard her father spoke.

"Young man, it is not proper for us to be the one visiting, it should have been the other way round. I have raised this daughter of mine for the past 25 years and I would not in a million years expect my daughter to do such thing, running off with a man."

Darren's reply was even more shocking that she wished she could burrow herself into the ground.

"Uncle, it is really my fault of not visiting earlier, but we had some misunderstanding earlier and one thing led to another, I know that Uncle have great understanding with regards to young and passionate love. I apologised on making the elders worry about Tong Tong, I am a man who takes responsibility seriously and I would not slight Tong Tong one bit and will treasure her the way elders have been treating her and strive to do better," he said solemnly while pouring out the drinks he had prepared.

Shin Tong wanted to vomit! What young and passionate love, they haven't done anything improper! Responsible?? What nonsense was her man spouting! Her mother's reply made her want to wail out loud.

"Our Tong Tong is unruly and brash, but deep down she is loving, gentle and kind, she can be hard headed and stubborn most times but she has other outstanding qualities which I am sure you are aware of. I take it you accept her flaws because once you are in this, there is no way you can leave, if you make our precious girl miserable, we definitely not going to let you off easy! So, please think twice before you act all noble," she said in a stern manner but her twinkling eyes were a dead give away to her actual thoughts.

"Aunty, I have given it much thought, don't worry, I understand her character well," he answered not bothering to defend her flaws.

Shin Tong could not take it anymore that she stormed out, her anxiety had evaporated and replaced with indignation.

"Mummy, daddy! What are two doing here?!" she said as she glared at her parents.

They ignored her existence, instead they started praising the drink made by Darren. Darren took pity on her grabbed her and placed her on his lap. She struggled to break free but he held onto her firmly.

"Darren! What on earth are you doing?" she hissed.

"Relax, uncle and aunty knows how much we love each other and we can't get enough of each other," he replied shamelessly.

"Young man, don't push it," warned Shin Tong's father.

Darren was not afraid but out of respect, he placed Shin Tong beside him and held her hand tightly.

"Tong Tong, you need to learn be obedient to your man but there are times that you can defy him if his orders or wishes are meant to bring you harm. Be good ya, mummy and daddy wishes you both happiness and prosperity. Don't forget to give us a dozen of cute grandkids. That day, Madam Zee was boasting about her 7th grandchild, pity me, I have none to brag about."

Shin Tong was made speechless by her mother. Does this mean, she is no longer welcomed at home? They just gave her away like that? Not even setting a date? Won't they be the ones at the losing end, giving away their daughter for free, or did they think it is going to be tough for her to be in a relationship hence, they are grabbing on to Darren as to not missed out on him.

The couple drank their fill, chatted aimlessly before they decided to leave.

"Darren, promise mummy you'll take care of Tong Tong, tonight we will make arrangements for her things to be sent over. You can set the date later, maybe register first, but promise us, you'll have the ceremony before the year ends," said Shin Tong's mother as she patted Darren's hand.

They left as swiftly as they came. The moment the door closed, Shin Tong pushed Darren away.

"What was that???!!! Why did you even agree?!"

"Why not?!" he answered.

"Why not?!! They are only tricking you into marrying me! You know we haven't even..

Her face blushed hard as she tried to utter the words.

"We haven't what?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.

"You know.. Argh, don't act dumb!" she said in frustration as she threw a pillow at him.

"You mean this?" he asked as he closed in dangerously on her, locking her beneath him as he pushed her to lean back against the couch.

"You.. You.." she said as she tried her hardest to push his face away.

"Since you are so upset we haven't done it yet, we might as well do it," he smiled slyly.

"I didn't know you were anxious for it to happened," he added gleefully.

Shin Tong wanted to slap her forehead hard listening to his bullshit. Before she could retort, his face had already made way its way to her bosom.
