General Wang, The Prickliest One

A panel inside the closet started to tremble. It was trembling because the hand of Wei Yu was trembling uncontrollably.

"Don't be hasty, It's me! It's someone you know."

Sure enough, it was someone Li TengFei and Wang Lei knew.

"Young Master Wei! What an uncomfortable place to play. You went out to play for a few days, but instead come into a den of thieves and human traffickers. How is this fun?"

That ever present amusement lingered on Li TengFei's lips, teasing his second favorite target, that is young Wei Yu. His number one favorite target was still the always prim and proper, young but an old man at heart, Wang Fei.

Wei Yu had both his palms up in defeat. Even his knees were knocking together. He forced out a fake laugh. Wei Yu attempted an escape, but the attempt failed and he ended up kidnapped by human traffickers instead!

"Who is this?" Wang Fei spied the top of a bald head, ducking behind Wei Yu's shoulder. His long arm immediately grabbed at that person, a dumb looking Wei Li Na was revealed, eyes wide and blinking like a new born deer. Wei Yu reached out to grab her back, but he was too slow.

Wang Lei already had his hand on the back of Wei Li Na's collar, he pulled out the undershirt and triumphantly claimed, "And you're still wearing my undershirt! Eh, Little! River! Spirit!"

"River spirit?" Li TengFei had an intense gaze on Wei Li Na. He looked her up and down once, then did it again. He scratched the growing stubble on his unruly chin. "Is that what this is about? Somebody stole your underwear?"

Wang Lei let go of the collar, he actually blushed. Was this actually over stolen underwear? No! His jade charm was also stolen! Wang Lei was about to say something, but Li TengFei cut him off before any sound could come out of his open mouth.

"Let me take care of this! Who dares taints the reputation of the impeccable General Wang, I cannot accept." Li TengFei's words were protective of an officer under his care. But the tone was dripping with sarcasm and ridicule. The faces of the soldiers in the room could not keep calm, every single one turned crimson red. Mouths pursed shut, choking down puffs of laughter.

Like a gust of wind, Li TengFei dragged Wei Li Na out of the room. She stumbled behind in his hurry, Li TengFei was very close to lifting her up in his arms in his haste to take her away. Wang Lei followed the pair outside. Still wanting to say something, but was unable.

Wang Lei could only look helplessly from afar, watching the pair - one tall and one small, arm in arm, as they disappeared in the distance.

Wei Li Na obediently followed, not saying anything. Far away from an angry Wang Lei and his armed men, was the safest place to be. Why should she object. They were now a good distance from Wang Lei, but Li TengFei was still in a rush, leading her somewhere.

"Wei Li Na, little Li Na, do you not know me?"

"Huh?" Somebody in this world knows her? Li TengFei came to a stop, he kept Wei Li Na in place with a hand on both her shoulders.

"Look closely. Do you know me?" Wei Li Na looked and looked, but she truthfully did not know this man! He had dark, straight brows, a high nose with a small bump. The eyes were mischievous and fox like, thin lips that often curled. A very distinguished and manly looking face, the type that attract bees and butterflies.

Wei Li Na shook her head, "Don't know."

"I know you, you look exactly the same. I don't know if you got amnesia on your way here. You are in terrible shape, and what in the world happened to your hair?" He lightly touched her bald head, his fingers lingered on the shape of a very prominent bump on her scalp.

That was a serious injury, but Dave said she only had a concussion. Is it possible she lost her memories as well? Wei Li Na did not answer, instead she kept up that blank look on her face. Li TengFei could only sigh.

Li TengFei did not want to bring her to the crowded infirmary. Instead he lead her to his own quarters. He lead her to his own bed and had somebody call for a doctor.

"I'm fine. I don't hurt anywhere."

Li TengFei insisted, gently pushing her back on the bed. Wei Li Na also insisted, and sprung up back to a sitting position, resisting the nonsense of this strange man! Li TengFei sighed again. He seems to sigh a lot.

With an expression that said, this-stubborn-fool, he unlaced her boots and pulled them off. He helped her out of her borrowed jacket. Noticing she had a weapon strapped to her back, underneath her clothes. "What is that?"

Wei Li Na took out Star Born, that was currently folded in the innocuous shape of a metal stick the length of her thigh bone. She handed it to Li TengFei, not really worried he would find anything wrong with a metal stick. Not a single person, aside from Dave and herself, in the Ancient time or the Space age, nobody has seen Star Born's true form.

Li TengFei took the stick and weighed it in his palm, guessing it was around 20 kilos. He swung it left and right, "Is this a weapon?"

"Yes"

"Address me as 'General', great fondler of flowers and trampler of grasses, peerless from the Western Regions to the Central Plains."

"Yes, General," Wei Li Na replied, expressionless. Her straight face, Li TengFei found annoying. This sort of person had a high, thick wall, nearly impossible to tease, well protected by their dense nature. He returned his focus on Star Born, expertly twirling the weapon with ease.

Then he did something Wei Li Na did not expect. Li TengFei held the metal rod at each end and pulled it in opposite directions. Star Born obediently unfolded into its real length. Li TengFei's face burst into a smile.

In the next second, he twisted the metal staff in opposite directions. A huge blade bloomed from one end of the staff. This discovery made Li TengFei even more happy. He examined the unadorned blade, "Can it do anything else? Is there a second blade?"

She really needed to stop underestimating ancient people, Wei Li Na thought to herself. She's been losing ever since she got here!

"No second blade, just that one."

Li TengFei retraced his earlier movements, twist and retract. Star Born folded into its innocuous form of a metal stick, "Very ingenious, did you make it."

"Yes," Wei Li Na only nodded her head. The fact was, she didn't make it. Dave made Star Born with a 3-D printer and some meteorite metal they harvested from an inert rock in space. The design was mostly Dave's idea, Wei Li Na just said she wanted a cool, badass halberd that was also a secret weapon.

"Then can you make another one?"

"Uhmmmm" Of course she can't! She doesn't have a 3-D printer anymore.

"Forget it." Li TengFei wearily rubbed the protruding bump on Wei Li Na's head yet again, "The doctor should be here soon. I'll have someone bring you clothes of your own. General Wang is holding a grudge against you for taking his underwear! Of all the people you could steal from, you had to pick on the prickliest one."

Li TengFei chuckled to himself, leaving the room, closing the door gently behind him.
