On the way back home Mrs. Shin whinned about not knowing the girl's name and how much she wished her to be their beloved Yang's woman.
"Dear, She is a foreigner. She'll go back to her home. You'll find many girls like her."
Whenever they wanted about his girlfriend, their beloved nephew, Yang would just shut them up with a stupid grin.
" Someday." He would reply.
However, Mrs. Shin could not forget about the girl and one day rambled about the her during dinner.
"Honey, you remember that girl?"
The professor who was busy in cutting streaks absent-mindedly replied "which one?"
" That sweet one from orphanage."
Mrs. Shin elbowed him to take her hints.
" Ah.. yes. What about her?" Professor Shin wondered why his wife was bringing that girl from days before.
" Isn't she pretty?" Mrs. Shin again elbowed him.
" Yeah.. No doubt in that. She is a nice girl."
"She would have been a match for our Yang."
Lu Yang, who was taking a sip of Chateau Lafite chocked on his favourite red wine and began coughing.
" Aunty! Uncle! What is this?" Yang asked them annoyingly.
" What! Nothing."
" Are you trying to set me up for some blind dates?"
The things Yang hated most in the whole world, going to blind dates was on the top of the list.
"...."
" I have a girl already aunty. Uncle you tell her to stop please." he whisper-begged to his uncle.
" She is not setting you up young man. But you tell me where is this girl of yours? When are you bringing her home to meet us?" Professor Shin quietly put down the knives and forks and asked him in a serious tone.
Today finally they have successfully trapped their nephew to blurt out some truths what he had been avoiding all these times.
"Are you still in touch with each other? What happened Yang? "
Lu Yang wasa. guy who used to talk a lot about this girl to his favourite uncle and aunt. Every night after completing homeworks he would call them all across the continent to tell them about this dreamgirl of his.
But after coming back there was no sign left of the previously always living in the moment Yang.
Yang lower his head and covered his face being unable to lie about himself anymore.
Every man have to bear his own cross. But Yang was exhausted bearing all his grief alone. It's been long he had pour his heart out to someone. He was really in need of a shoulder to cry out.
Mr. and Mrs. Shin came closer and embraced him.
"It's okay Yang. Everything will be fine."
Yang hugged them and began sobbing.
"Uncle, I lost her. I totally lost her."
They lost contact 2 years ago on that cursed day.
"After waking up from coma I tried to contact. But I couldn't reach her how many times I tried. I knew her adress. I went looking for her. But she was not there. No one was there. The neighbors said they moved."
" Strangely enough, her school refused to give any information. And you know what the hardest thing the neighbor told me? Her family moved from there as they were unable bear the loss their elder daughter."
Mr. and Mrs. Shin stunned hearing all these things. They knew nothing of those. They couldn't imagine how much pain Yang might have gone through. Alone.
"Later, I found missing complaints of her name in the police station. They never found her. Never. She just vanished into thin air. Nothing was found. Not a thing." Yang began trembling in their embrace.
" It's okay Yang. It's okay. Just breathe. Okay?"
"Aunty do you believe she is dead?" Suddenly Yang looked at her aunt.
"I don't know son. What do you think?"
" She is alive. I know she is alive. She promised me to meet. I know she is alive."
" We understand Yang , But, It's been years already. If she was alive she would definitely meet you. Maybe....."
"NOOOOOOO....." Yang cut off her words."She will come to meet me. She promised."
"But Yang, if she truly loved you she would definitely reach out to you. Don't you think it's enough time already?" Professor Shin calmed him down. " Your aunty is right Yang. You should move on."
"Nope."
Yang hurriedly replied Poppin the 'p'.
" I don't wanna get her off my mind. I wish I could meet her again, court her again, tell her all the truths.. I wish I had a chance... I would make up everything for her.... I would never lose her again..If only I had a chance."
"If she is alive then she is still abroad. All those things happened back then... We had no news of her. We didn't know her name. You never told us. we even don't how to contact her. we tried everything possible. And You.. you were in coma. Even after waking up you didn't tell anything about her. We could have tried to reach her. You refused to meet anyone after recovery..." Mrs. Shin helplessly watched him.
Yang took a deep breath and stayed mum for a few minutes.
"I wish you guys could have meet her... You would love her at first sight... she is one of a kind you know." Yang stopped himself from crying further.
" It's just... Just...I... I was so scared to face her... I was afraid that she would never accept me after knowing my identity. She was a simple girl. I was scared that she would think of me as a liar once we met. I was going to come clean to her that day. She didn't even know of my real name. She didn't even know what I look like."
"That would be Our first date. I was on my way to our first date. Our first meeting." Yang was in tears.
Talking about her always brought back painful memories to him.
"You guys never met before?" Mrs. Shin was surprised.
"No. But I knew how she looked like. Being the no. 1 ethical hacker in the country I hacked into her's. How do you think I got her adress?"
Yang looked at her with a smug in his face.
" My boy." the professor patted his back proudly while Mrs. Shin looked at the duo with suspicious eyes.
" But you know what uncle , after I woke up, when I began looking for her, there was no information in the net. It was like that person never existed. Her whole family too. Only evidence of her existence was the police complaints and some ex-teachers of her former school. Like someone has swept clean every little thing about Alexandra."
Both Mr. and Mrs. Shin found it strange. Suddenly Mrs. Shin raised her brows.
"Alexandra?"
"That's her. Alexandra was her name." Yang said proudly.
" True love." Mrs. Shin patted his head. "If she truly loved you... If your love was true.. And if she is still alive.. She will come back to you one day ... The question is can you wait enough for her to come back?"
"... No one forgets their true love. Maybe she is in pain like you. Maybe she is suffering just like you... Maybe she thinks of you all these time.. Maybe she is still waiting for you.. you never know xiao Yang... you never know..."
Mrs. Shin embraced him closer reminiscing about the past.
It's been 2 years since Yang came back home following the accident.
The boy always used to talk about a girl over phone.
According to him "She is the best in the world. Incomparable. Aunty you'll never regret meeting her."
For about 3 whole years their overseas conference calls between them were about this one girl. Yang poured out his heart to his aunt and uncle. The relationship between the aunty and nephew was too close.
No one was aware of her name or whereabouts. He never told anyone anything . They only knew that Yang loved a girl overseas.
" You know what aunty.. I think she still resents me.. She has the right to hold grudges.. I never tell her my identity... She doesn't even know my real name.. She.. She..and ..I. ... I think she wouldn't be able to recognize me even if I stand in front of her... "
"It's okay dear. It's okay. She'll understand."
" I.. I .. I knew every little thing about her. Her likes, her dislikes, her dream, her hobby.. every little thing about her... We used to know each other like blank sheets.. We.... It's complicated. I can't explain to you right now... I'm not ready yet...I ... I'll tell you everything.... one day... "
