Chapter 9: Figuring Out What Happened with Sam

It was the morning after the coronation. I was so tired from the night before, but I was somehow able to wake up at around ten in the morning. For some reason I didn't feel like sleeping any longer. I was dressed in my night cloths and didn't feel like changing into anything. I just put my robe on and went down to the kitchen for breakfast. Even though I had a big dinner at the coronation the night before I was still hungry. I saw that Donovan had put the book with the drawing of me and Sam in it on one of the counters. I opened it up to the page where the picture was bookmarked to while one of the servants was making me some breakfast. The page that the picture was wedged in between wasn't important. It was just placed there to keep the picture safe from any damage. I looked at the book and thought, "I wonder if Sam still lives in the same place, he did all those years ago. I should go there and see for myself. I know that Donovan said that Sam was dangerous, but I would like to see if he was telling the truth and see if he really is all that bad. It's worth a try. He might even be able to help me out. Even if he doesn't help, it's better to have him do nothing then for him to be an enemy and then do something to stop me from what I need to do." I saw one of the servants cleaning the counters and said to her, "You there cleaning the counter." She stopped what she was doing, turned around and said, "Yes, your highness?" "Go and wake up Peter. Tell him to come down here." I said to her. "Right away, your majesty." She replied. About 20 minutes later Peter came into the kitchen wearing his nightclothes as well. I was sitting on a stool at the island in the middle of the kitchen. "What is it you need me for Saya? Aren't you tired from last night? I wouldn't think you would be so willing to be up this early after all the fun. It seems to make better sense to have slept in. Not be up this early in the morning." He asked me as he was yawning. "I know. I did plan on sleeping in. But there is somewhere I would like to go, and I want you to come with me." I said. "Okay. Where is it?" He asked as he was walking up to the island rubbing his eyes to get the sand out of them. He sat down on the other side in front of me and leaned on the counter with both of his arms crossed. "That doesn't matter right now. I just need you to come with me." I told him. "Okay. When do you want to leave?" He asked me. "I want to leave today. So, go and start getting ready after you have some breakfast." I replied. "Okay." He replied. I turned to one of the servants still in the kitchen and said, "You there in the red. I'm going to need you and whomever you need to help you to make some lunches and dinners for Peter and me for our journey outside the kingdom. Make two weeks' worth of food for traveling. I'm going to need the food ready in no more than two hours." "Yes, your majesty." She replied. I finished my breakfast. I started walking out of the kitchen but before I left the room, I turned to one of the servants I said, "And make some breakfast for Peter before you start making our travel food." "Yes, Your majesty." Replied the servant. Then I started heading to my room to start packing. A bit over two hours had passed, and Peter and I were ready to leave. We got on our horses and rode off to Sam's kingdom. I had the drawing with me in a pouch attached to the horse. I put it back in the book that Donovan had originally put it in to keep it safe. I brought it thinking it might help me somehow. As soon as Peter got on his horse, he turned to me and said, "I hope you know what you're doing." "As far as I know, I know what I'm doing. I can't just sit around thinking that something is one way when it's not or that something is going to happen when it's not. The sooner I get things done and out of the way as well as clarified then the better it is for everyone. Plus, it will help me better understand what laws I can come up with for the better of the people once everything is settled. I don't know when things are going to get better or how fast our plan will work once the war is over, but we need to get this war finished as soon as we can. We can't have the people continue to suffer. I would also like for this to end in your lifetime so you can see it in all its great glory. I want you to tell your kids what it was like to fight in the war and be a part of what made things great, not to tell them that you grew up in the same thing they were raised in." I told him." "You are a great leader Saya and even if this war will not end for another hundred years I will still tell my children the stories of how great you are and how you never gave up no matter what and that you were able to figure things out that no one was able to figure out and without you we would not have come as far as we have." He replied. I smiled and said, "Well I will definitely tell the stories of how much of a great companion you were to me the whole way through. I will make sure your memory is not forgotten. Books and plays will be written of you and people will know of what you have done for me and the people." He smiled at me and said, "Thank you Saya and you are definitely a good friend. I'm happy to call you a true friend." "I feel the same way." I replied with a smile. Then we started heading towards Sam's Kingdome. It took us about ten hours, but we finally got to Sam's kingdom, the kingdom of Lycanthrope. We stopped in front of the castle. There was what looked like human guards standing outside. I knew that they were Lycan though. I could tell just by the smell of them. Even though they had armor on you could tell that they were strong and had a lot of muscles just by the way they were standing. We get off our horses. Peter walks up to them and said, "Good evening sir. My queen wishes to have council with Sam Heartsong." "No one may see the king." The guard replied in a deep voice. "But it is important. We are here peacefully and do not wish to start any trouble. We just have a few questions for him." He replied. The guard grabbed Peter by the throat and squeezed and said, "The king does not have anything to say to humans." Peter quickly reached for one of his pouches and opened it. He grabbed a small glass bottle and smashed it on the guard's face. "Ah!! It burns!! What is this sorcery?!" He yelled as he fell to his knees with his hands on his face. The other guard standing on the other side of the gates started to charge towards Peter. Peter put up his hand and the guard stopped. "I have more of this for you if you want to feel the same pain he is going through." The guards just stood there. Peter looked back at the guard on the ground. "It is a mixture of powders I put together. To tell you the truth, what were in that bottle I smashed over your thick head were leftovers. I didn't think that was going to come in handy. But I guess I was wrong. It's a good thing I have a few more bottles of it just in case I need it again. Now get up and show us inside to where your king is. We do not wish to grant him any harm." After a few minutes the powder stopped stinging the guard and he got up. His eyes were red but there were no cuts on his face. "Come this way." He said. He turned around and started to walk through the open gates. The other guard tied our horses to a branch next to the gate so they wouldn't run away while we were in the castle then walked back to his post. The guard led us to the grand hall. "Why are we in the grand hall? Is this where your king is?" I asked. "He will be here shortly." The guard replied. Then walked outside, closed the door and locked it. Once I heard the lock sound I ran to the door and started to bang on it. "Let us out? Do you know who I am?! This is outrageous!" I yelled. A loud howling noise filled the room. We looked around to see if we could find whoever made the noise. Peter and I quickly drew our swords out. I looked at Peter and said, "Peter toss me one of your refreshing potions." He grabbed one from one of his pouches and tossed me one. I opened it and drank it without spilling a drop. He grabbed one for himself and did the same. I started walking forward with my sword in both hands. Suddenly there was a Lycan behind me. Within seconds there were more surrounding me and Peter in their full form. I had noticed that the one that was in front of me was wearing a necklace with some sort of Lycan amulet. Without any warning, they started to attack me at the same time without aiming to attack Peter. They just wanted me. I flew up to the celling as fast as I could. Luckily, they missed me. Peter took out one of his powders from his pouch and threw it to the ground where the Lycans were at. It made a big puff of dark purple smoke blinding them from what was going on. They couldn't see a thing. I took the only chance I thought I had and flew down to the one with the Lycan amulet. I was able to pin him down. I wanted to make myself look as intimidating as possible, so I made my eyes red, my fangs out and my wings extended. Peter was shuffling through one of his pouches and found another small bottle of powder. It was yellow. As soon as the smoke cleared, he threw a little bit of it at the Lycan that were still standing, and it paralyzed them. They were not able to move at all. When the purple smoke had cleared some more the one, I had on the floor was able to see me better. He spoke and said, "Sayaka? Is that you?" I loosened my grip on him a little and I said, "Yes. It's me. But who are you?" He turned back into a human. I let go of him and got up off from the floor. He helped himself up and backed up a few feet. I don't think I could ever forget what he looked like when I saw him for the first time after so many years. He looked handsome. He was a bit over six feet tall. Short blonde hair and bright blue eyes that seemed to shimmer or shine when the light hit them the right way. I had a hunch that it was him, but I wasn't sure because it had been so many years since I saw him last. I was confused as to how he was able to recognize me after so long. I didn't know what he would look like all grown up, so it confused me that he was able to know that it was me right away once he got a close look of my face. I also didn't think that any Lycan would know what I looked like unless there were some sort of spy. His castle wasn't that much farther away from mine compared to others, but it still frightened me a bit. Lycans don't usually come to close to my castle without a reason. It made me wonder what the reason was he had for coming so close, and without me knowing about it. They don't usually change into humans outside of their own territory in order to keep their identity safe from harm. To many humans, they don't look too different when they are wolfs because they look so much alike each other. I thought he had spied on me or had someone spy on me for him, so he knew what I looked like. "But why would a Lycan spy on me?" I thought to myself. With a shocked look on my face I was looking at him and said sternly, "Speak Lycan. Who are you? I command you to answer me." "It's okay Sayaka. I figured you wouldn't have recognized me. It's been a long time. Many years has passed by since we last saw each other. We were both young. How you've grown. How is your family?" He said to me. I thought to myself, "Does he not know that they are dead? Maybe he didn't spy on me, or maybe he did but he's just saying these things just to throw me off and make me think that he hasn't been spying on me. His kingdom isn't that much farther from mine after all. Barley a day's ride from here." I looked at him and said, "My family is dead. They were murdered by a human. Now answer my questions beast." He came towards me, but I moved back from him a few steps. "Answer me Lycan. Who are you? Stop ignoring me." I said firmly. He gave out a little laugh and said, "Sayaka. You don't remember me, do you? It's okay, I understand. It has been many years. It's me. Sam. Sam Heartsong." I looked at him up and down and analyzed him. I started to piece together that it would make sense why it would be him. He looked a lot different because he was older, but he did have some of the same features. I did have a hunch when he got up from the ground and stood up, but I wasn't sure. There are many people that have similar features as a lot of other people do but I started to realize that it really was Sam. "I knew it was you." I said out loud. "I knew it was you just by your foul smell." I continued. He smiled and said, "Well I do need a good bath, but you don't need to be that cruel about it old friend." I quickly walked towards him and pointed my sword at his throat. "You are not a friend. Those days are behind the both of us. That is not why I'm here. I am here because you need to tell me why it is you were trying to kill me. What is the meaning behind you trying to stalk me?" He looked confused. "What are you talking about? I wasn't trying to kill you or stalk you. I was trying to find you. I wanted to warn you about a man named Donovan. Well he's not a man. He's a vampire. And a dangerous at that." I put my sword down and put it back in my sheath. "Why do you think he's dangerous? He's my grandfather. There's no reason for him to hurt me." He looked at me and said, "Your grandfather? No matter. He is still dangerous. Family to you or not. But I see that he's already came to see you. Well just to let you know, he killed my father and my wife Larentia. She was pregnant with our child." Suddenly, before I could say anything, I had a vision. It was through the eyes of James' little brother Jacob. I saw Donovan killing Queen Marishka. Then I saw another vision of Donovan from a few years prior. It was Donavan standing in front of wherever I was. It looked like I was in a room. I was in someone else's eyes. I saw a woman. She was pregnant. Donavan raised his sword. Then I heard, "Donovan no! Not my wife!" Then I saw Donovan slash through the woman with one blow and kill her. I saw her fall to the floor. "No!!" The voice yelled." It sounded like Sam's voice. I came out of the vision and saw that I was back where I was and in front of Sam. I was sitting upright on the floor. Sam took me to a room. Peter was leaning up against a closed door. It looked like he was waiting for something to happen. Sam was sitting on the floor a few feet in front of me. He was leaning up against a chest asleep. I looked around and sat up more. I look up at Peter and Sam. "Hey!" I say loudly getting the attention of the both. "Are you guys awake?" Sam woke up and Peter looked down at me seeming to snap out of what he was zoned into. Sam rubbed his eyes, looked up at Peter then looked at me, saw that I was awake and said, "Yeah we're awake. What happened? Are you all right?" I looked at Sam and said, "I had a vision of your past. I saw everything that you went through that nigh. The murders of your wife." I paused. "But know that he is trying to kill Jacob." They both looked at me with confusion. Peter sat down on the floor next to me. "Who is Jacob? Is he your Lover that got poisoned by the other queen?" I looked at Peter and said, "No. Jacob is King James' Son. He's just a kid. We have to save him." "Why?" Asked Sam. "It's a long story. We don't have time to sit here and have an explanation as to whom and why right now." I replied. Sam and Peter nodded. Sam got up and crawled on his knees to get closer to me. "Well whoever this kid is I will help you save him." He said. "Well I'll need your army anyway. We aren't done here though. I still have many questions that you must answer Sam. Right now, I feel that we need to go and save that kid." I replied. Peter just nodded. We got up from the floor and headed to the throne room. "So, who is it that we were saving this kid from?" Asked Sam. "Donovan." I replied. "Okay. That is reason enough for me. Do you know where Donovan is and how we can get to him?" He asked. "Yes, He's back at my castle. He doesn't even know that I'm here." I replied. "Perfect." Sam said. "You are coming with Peter and I back to my castle. You will not attack Donovan. He does not know what is going on so you will act like nothing has happened. Is that clear?" I said firmly. "Yes. I understand." Sam replied. "When are we leaving?" He continued. "Right now." I told him. "Get your horses ready right now." I continued. "Of course." He said. He turned to one of his butlers and said, "Go and get my horses ready right now. Have him be at the front, ready to ride right away." "Yes, of course your majesty." The butler said quickly." About a half an hour later the horses were all out front. We got on them and rode back home to Verelandra. We finally got to the castle. I started to get a bit worried as we started to get closer to the gate. We slowly walked towards the entrance. Peter got off his horse and opened the gate. I could see a few bodies on the ground from where we were at. As we slowly walked through, getting closer, the smell of fresh blood started to get stronger. The few bodies that were on the stairs were servants. We walked past them and went inside. What we saw inside wasn't any better from what was on the steps outside. There were bodies everywhere. But most of them weren't part of my kingdom. They all had armor on. They all had their swords in their hands or next to them. There were even a few stuck in the podiums. I kneeled next to one of the solders to look at the detailing on the armor better. I remembered the designs. I remembered seeing the designs at my cousin Haruka's castle when I went to visit her. That's when I realized that that's where these solders were from. "Why are they here?" I thought to myself. I stood up and looked around. It was a mess everywhere. I've seen many things that were this bad before but for some reason I couldn't hold my stomach. I turned around and started to rush towards the door to go outside but I couldn't hold it in. I made it past the hinges, but I threw up right as I was passing the door.

"Are you okay?" Asked Sam. "Yeah. I'm fine." I said as I was holding onto the wall, leaning up against it. "For some reason I couldn't hold anything in." I continued. "This was all Donovan's fault. I know it. He is the only vampire I know of that would be willing to do this. He's done it before, and I knew he would do it again. This will not be the last time he would strike either. He will keep doing this until he is stopped." Sam said. I looked back and pointed at a few of the bodies on the floor. "No. It's not him. These are all vampires. Vampires don't usually kill other vampires. The blood isn't healthy to drink from another vampire. You wouldn't die from it, but you would get very sick from it. On the other hand, I don't know him that well but, as far as I know, he has no reason to kill these men. I don't know the extent of his power, but I can tell by the way the bodies are lying on the floor that he didn't do it." I said. I went back outside and walked over to one of the servants on the stairs. I knelt and looked at their neck. I looked up at Sam and said, "Sam come here." Sam came towards me and knelt in front of me. I looked back down at the servant and pointed to the neck and said, "Notice that?" I asked Sam. He had a confused look on his face and said, "Notice what? I don't see anything. There's nothing there." I looked back up at him and said, "Exactly. Vampires suck blood from the neck of a human. It's one of the few areas of the body where the blood is the most fresh and crispy." Then I paused for a second and said, "Unless," Then I grabbed the right wrist of the servant and looked at it and then the left wrist. "See? Look. There are no bite marks on the wrists either. The wrist is the other part of the body that has easy access to fresher blood." I said. I looked up at Sam and said, go around to the servants' bodies and see if you can find any bite marks on the neck and wrists. I stood up and whipped my knees off. I looked down at Sam. "When you're done, go around to some of the solders and see if you can find any bite marks on them as well." I told him. Sam stood up and said, "Okay." Then started to look around. I walked back inside. Peter was standing in the middle of the room looking around him. "Peter." He turned around and faced me. "Sam is outside. He is looking for bite marks on the bodies. Help him look and do a body count as well." "Okay." He replied. I looked around the room. As I was looking, I noticed a sword that was different from the soldiers' swords. The handle's design was different. I walked up to it and noticed whose body it was lying next to. It was Haruka, my cousin. Her body was ripped to pieces. I felt like throwing up again. I dry heaved a bit, but I was able to keep myself together. "This was definitely not a vampire. There are too many creatures that have the capability of doing this. I wish there was a way I could tell who or what did this and why." I said to myself. Peter came up to me and said, "There are too many bodies to count. From what we did seem to count it seems that it would be in the hundreds. But none of the ones we saw had any bite marks on them. Some of them looked as if they were ripped to pieces." "Like this one?" I asked him. Then I pointed to my cousin. He looked down at her and sighed. "Yeah. Exactly like that one." He replied. I looked back at him and said, "We were only gone for a few days. I wonder who could have done this in such a short period of time. These soldiers are from my cousin's kingdom. It takes a couple of weeks to get from here to Haruka's castle. Even if they got here right after we left. Why would she bring this many of her soldiers with her and how could this much damage be done in such a short period of time?" I said to Peter. "I don't know. I can name off a few creatures that could do this kind of thing, but I don't know why. There are many different types of creatures and things out there that no one knows about yet. Even if it was something, we knew existed I still wouldn't be able to tell what it was that did this. There are a lot of your subjects that love and adore you and are fighting for your cause but there are many enemies that you have as well. Ones that are not even part of the evil king's side. Ones that have no sides but their own. For all we know they could have done this just for the sake of doing it. No rhyme or reason. In my opinion I think we should just burry the bodies and try to figure it out later. I do have something that will be able to help us come back to it later and figure it out." He went outside to his horse. I followed behind him wanting to know what it was he was going to do. He opened a sack and pulled out five clear crystal balls. Each one was as big as one hand. He tossed them up in the air. They flew up a few feet and stopped. They were floating in the air on their own. He looked at them and pointed towards the bodies and said, "Examine everything. Every detail. Make sure you get everything that is out of place with the castle and the bodies." Then they flew over towards the castle and a red beam of light came out and they each scanned thing one at a time. Peter looked at me and said. "They should be done by the end of the day to finish scanning everything." "Okay." I replied. Suddenly, I heard footsteps of someone walking out of the front of the castle. It looked like a servant. They stopped at the top of the stairs, looking at Peter and me. "You there. What happened here? How were you able to escape what happened?" I said. Then he raised his head and took off the servant's hood. It was my beloved Prince James. He had an evil look on his face. He was sarcastically smiling at me. He was slowly walking down the steps one by one. I was in shock. "James!" I said. Peter pulled out his sword and said, "Don't come another step closer traitor." "Be careful Peter. Remember, he's not himself. He was put under a spell." "What? You don't like what I did to the place? I livened it up for you. It was a bit dull. I thought you would need some redecorating. Well I didn't necessarily do all of this. But I did make sure that it would happen." He said. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Well I found your dear old Grandpa awhile back. I found him roaming around my queen's kingdom one day in the market. He was just looking around and doing what people usually do in the market place. Just shopping for food or goods to purchase. I will say it did take me awhile to realize that it was him. But once I found out, I spied on him. He went to the market quite a bit. He didn't have any schedule as to what days he went or time of day. But it seemed like he liked to go down there a lot. It didn't seem like he was looking for anything, but he did have a lot of friends he met up with. He did like talking with many of the merchants. It seemed that he was very well liked by many of the people. I eventually started talking with him and got him to explain who he was, even though I already knew. Through the time of getting to know him better, he told me of the many things he did. Good and bad." He made a small laugh and continued, "And he did do a lot of bad things. Many bad things." "What is your point?" I interrupted. "Well, he told me that he was a changed vampire. He had many centuries that he had lived and even though he knew what he did was bad he felt that he got all the bad out of his system and he had no need to do it again. He thought he wouldn't want to do it again. Well, I found a way to make him want to do it again." He said. "You mean all of this WAS him?" I asked in shock. "Yes. It was." He replied. Peter then intervened and said, "I know a bit of what he's like. I've read many diaries from many different people across the centuries and almost all of them mention him in some way. He has done many bad things to people. He might have done some good but, from what I've read, he's done many more bad things. I don't know how much he's told you but how do you know that he isn't doing anything to your castle while you are here?" James's smile went away. He knew that Peter was right. He didn't think about what Peter had pointed out because he was so concentrated on trying to get rid of me that he didn't think about his kingdom. "Well, I guess I didn't think about that part." He said out load. At that moment Sam came outside and stood beside James. He looked at him and then looked back at Peter and me and said. "Hey look, a servant seemed to have survived." "Sam that's not a servant. That's someone else disguised as a servant." I said to him. He looked back at James and said, "Oh. Do you want me to kill him?" He asked. "No. Just stay right there with him so he doesn't escape." I replied. "Okay." He said back. "By the way James, why do you have servants' cloths on?" I asked. He looked at Sam and then looked back at me and said, "Well since it seems that I am going to be here for a bit longer I might as well give you an answer. My queen and I wanted to make sure that you weren't going to interfere with our lives again so she came up with the idea that I would come over here and kill you myself. So, when I got here, I decided that going undercover and disguising myself as a servant I could keep you safe from Marishka. I thought I found a way to do that by using Donovan, but I guess that backfired on me. I didn't seem to think that things would go the way that they went." He replied. "No. I guess not. How long were you here for?" I asked. "A few months. It was surprisingly easy." I was mad that I didn't know about this sooner but there was nothing that I could do about it. It was too late. The damage was already done. "Let me go back to my castle and see if there is any damage done." James said. "No. I will use my powers and look from here." I replied. I stretched out my wings then flew up to the top of my castle and looked towards James's castle. I used my powers to see what was going on. At first, I didn't see Donovan, but I still didn't like what I saw. I saw fire. Bodies covered in blood were everywhere. Then after a few minutes I saw Donovan walking out of the castle covered with blood. He was carrying the queen. I didn't know if she was alive or not. I flew back down and landed in front of James. "It doesn't look good. It's Donovan. It looks like he destroyed everything. It's all in flames and covered in bodies and blood. He has the queen. I'm not sure if she is alive or not." I told him. He seemed to be in shock but all he did was put his head down. After a few seconds he lifted his head back up and said, "Let me go to my castle. I don't want to fight Donovan. I know I'm not strong enough. I just want to see who and what is left." "No. I'm not letting you out of my sight again." I replied. I looked at Peter and said, "Peter. Put him in the dungeon." "Okay." He replied. I looked at Sam and said, "Sam, I want you to follow them and make sure that James doesn't escape. I also want you to guard him. Peter and I will go to his Castle and see what we can do." "But I want to come and help you defeat Donovan." Sam said. "No. You aren't coming with us." I told him. "Peter, once you take him to the dungeon, I want you to head over to the castle. Use any magic you must get over there as fast as you can. I'm going to fly over there and see if I can stop Donovan from whatever he's going to do next." "Okay. I'll get right on it Saya." He replied. "I don't want to go to the dungeon. I want to see my castle. I want to see what it looks like. I want to see what happened." James said with anger. "No. You are going to stay in the dungeon until I say so. It's to keep you safe and to make sure that you won't get away. I don't want to lose you again. I still love you and I will not let you go and give up on you. I know you would do the same for me. You are not yourself and I will not give up until we get things the way they are supposed to be." I told him. I looked back at Peter and Sam and said, "Hurry up and get him to the dungeon. We'll worry about cleaning all of this up when we get back." Then they grabbed him by the arms and started walking over to the dungeon. I flew up in the air again and flew towards the castle as fast as I could. I was able to get to the castle fast. I saw Donovan walking to the front of the castle gates carrying the queen to a carriage. He opened the carriage door and put the queen inside then closed the door. As soon as he closed the door I flew down and pinned him to a stone pillar penetrating his gut with my hand that I was quickly able to turn into claws as sharp as a dragon's talons. My other hand also turned into talons, I had them up against his throat. "What did you do here? What did you do to the queen? Is she alive? Where is King James' kid, Prince Jacob?" I said in anger. Donovan just smiled and said, "Oh, the little boy? You want to know where he is, do you? We're playing hide and seek. Want to play?" Then he coughed with a bit of blood coming out. I quickly pulled out my hand from his gut and he fell to his knees. He put one arm around his stomach and the other he used to hold himself up. I had his blood on my arm, but I didn't bother trying to wipe it off. I started to look around and see if I could guess where little Jacob was. Donovan looked up at me and said, "You're just like your father. Weak." I could control my anger. I was really pissed that he would talk about my father like that. "How dare you say that about my father," My eyes went blood red. I quickly rushed up to him and grabbed his neck and ripped his head off. Then he turned into ashes. I then walked towards the gate. I turned back towards the castle and I was scanning around to see if I could locate Prince Jacob. I closed my eyes and used my telepathy to see if I can talk to him. "Prince Jacob. Can you hear me? It's Sayaka. The one who cured you from your illness. It's okay. I'm her to help you again. I'm not going to hurt you. The bad man is gone. I got rid of him. He won't hurt you again." I didn't hear anything. I walked up to the castle and went inside. I went to the throne room to see if he was hiding in there. Then I heard, "Milady Sayaka." It was little Jacob. "Jacob. Is that you?" "Yes, it's me." I heard him say. "Where are you Jacob?" I asked. "In a hiding place my father put me in. I'm in my room." He replied. "Can you send me a visual so I can find it and come up and get you?" I asked. "Okay. But hurry. I'm scared." He said. "Don't worry. I'm here now. I'll make sure that you will be okay." I said. "Okay. "He replied. Then Jacob sent me a visual map to me so I could see where he was. "Okay. I'm on my way." I ran up the stairs and got to the door of the room where James was in. I opened the door and saw King James II on the floor leaning up against the wall with his throat slit. He was sitting next to a painting of himself. There were slash marks that had torn it up a bit. I went up to it to try and fix it. When I did that it had opened a door to a hidden room. Jacob was inside. When he saw me, he jumped up and hugged me. I looked at him and said, "What happened here?" Jacob looked at me with sad eyes and said, "Donovan killed Marishka then took her body and ran out of the castle. I was already in the hiding place. My dad told me not to come out until someone came to get me or until it was safe to come out." I sighed. "Okay, well I need you to tell me the rest of the story but first, we need to get out of here now. It's not safe to stay here much longer. The castle is on fire and we need to leave now." I told him. "Okay." He said still hugging me. I looked around the room and saw a window. I used my powers to break it open. I lifted little Jacob up and held onto him then flew out the window. I flew back towards my castle.
