The Jilted Second Young Master (15)

Song Jia waited until Su Qi calmed down a bit. Finally, her twin sister stopped crying and after washing her face, she sat crosslegged on the bed across Song Jia.

"So how was the..." Su Qi was about say 'retard' when Song Jia gave her a sharp look. She instantly changed her words. "How was he?"

Su Qi didn't have any good feelings for Lin Yitian, as all she remembered about him was that he constantly smashed things. He also humiliated her by not touching her, and by continuously ignoring her. To sum it all up, for most of their marriage life, she was miserable. If not for Nie Poan, she wouldn't have been able to bear it.

"Yitian's fine," Song Jia said. "Actually, he's doing better than fine. He hadn't smashed anything for a whole month."

Su Qi's eyes widened. "That's...how could that be possible?"

Because of her reincarnation, Lin Yitian's constant tantrums...there was probably no one else in the world that knew it better than her. If he didn't like the food, he would throw his plate against the wall and demand for a new set of dishes. That's why a single meal would take them hours to finish because he couldn't be satisfied by anything that was given to him.

If Su Qi was being too loud while watching the TV, he would scream and throw a fit. If she so much as touched one of the furniture inside the house and moved it by 1 millimeter, he would scream and throw a fit. If he didn't like the clothes that she was wearing, he would scream and throw a fit.

Instead of getting a husband after marriage, Su Qi felt more like she gained a child that never stopped throwing a tantrum. And she couldn't get angry at him either, because his family was powerful while she was just a flower vase bride. She could only tolerate him and not voice out her frustrations.

Every girl dreamed of a happy marriage. How could Su Qi simply reconcile this absurd reality with that of her lifelong dream?

She wanted an equal partner, not an overgrown baby to take care of.

"He's easy to get along with, once you know him well enough," Song Jia said, remembering the time he forgave her easily when she stained his shirt with ketchup. She didn't know why Su Qi seemed so terrified of Lin Yitian. He wasn't as unreasonable as she made him out to be.

Su Qi, "..."

Easy to get along with? That man?

She was even starting to doubt if she and her twin sister were talking about the same person.

"So about Nie Poan..." Song Jia brought back their previous topic. "What do you want to do?"

At the mention of his name, Su Qi's eyes became teary again. "What can I do? Even if I want to meet up with him, I couldn't..."

She suddenly stopped. Su Qi's eyes brightened, and she tightly gripped Song Jia's arm.

"Sister, that's it!"

"What?"

Su Qi beamed at her, her excitement becoming nearly palpable.

"If I remember correctly, he's going to start as Lin Yitian's psychiatrist next week. If I go there and meet up with him for just a few days...surely, I'll be able to make him fall in love with me again!"

Song Jia showed a clear look of hesitation.

"You...you want to return to being Lin Yitian's fiancée?"

"Of course not!" Su Qi blanched. "I just want to have the opportunity to meet Nie Poan. After he agrees to date me, we'll exchange places once again."

Song Jia wanted to scold her. Did she think Su Jia was born to be used as her substitute? To be exploited and discarded as she pleased?

But Song Jia ultimately decided not to say these things out loud. This was the last chance that she would give to Su Qi. She told her from the beginning that she would do her best to try and dissolve her engagement with Lin Yitian, but Song Jia did the opposite of her wish.

Song Jia hoped that after Su Qi discovered Nie Poan's true nature, she would come to appreciate Lin Yitian more. And Song Jia had also made sure to create a good impression of her twin sister with Lin Yitian. This way, there was a possibility that her twin sister would repent from the sins she did in the past and have a peaceful, if not loving, marriage with Lin Yitian.

Song Jia didn't do all of this for Su Qi. On the contrary, she did it all for Lin Yitian. She didn't want him to end up all alone. If her host didn't have ALS, Song Jia as Su Jia would have happily married him. He was sweet, loving, and kind. Song Jia thought that he would make a very good husband.

It was only unfortunate, that this body of hers had only one year and a few more months to live.

Otherwise, she wasn't really willing to give a priceless jade to a broken shoe [1], ah.

...

Late in the evening, Song Jia returned back to the mansion.

Because she remembered Lin Yitian's anxious face yesterday, Song Jia decided not to stay over at her family's house. It was already eleven o'clock when she got back, and most of the lights inside the mansion had been turned off.

The furniture Lin Yitian had smashed inside the living room were already replaced with exact replicas. Even the maids had taken a vow of silence. Because of Wang Han's words, Lin Yitian became afraid that Song Jia would know about his 'tantrum.' Lin Yitian didn't know why, but he didn't want Song Jia to discover that he was different from other people.

In front of her, he wanted to be like Lin Shenglan, the son his father had always praised and was proud of.

Lin Yitian didn't want Song Jia to find out what his parents already did, that he was a 'special child.'

In front of her, he only wanted to be a normal man, a man that she could praise and would also be proud of, like Lin Shenglan.

Song Jia made her way to her bedroom. Because there was a set of trailing recessed lights that dimly lit up the hallway, Song Jia didn't have much trouble finding her room.

Song Jia stifled a yawn and flicked on the light switch.

Suddenly, she shouted in shock.

"Lin Yitian!"
