With that, Melody stepped out of her house into the new world. She lived in a pretty suburban area, with many houses similar to hers around the neighbourhood.
Melody adapted quickly to her new environment. Being unsure where to go, she whipped out her phone and tried to search for a map.
She eventually succeeded and navigated her way to the city which was a thirty minute walk. Normally, she'd take the bus but after checking her credit card linked onto her phone, she soon realised that she only had a couple of dollars.
There was only enough to buy the groceries for a week. After looking at her ID card, she also found out that she would have to go to high school.
She wondered if she should ask the chat if she enrolled, but she was asking a bunch of immortals about school, was that not too weird?
She walked around with these thoughts floating around in her head soon before noticing some odd things. It seemed like the world that she had been transferred to was not entirely like Earth.
There were quite a few differences, she figured as she observed her surroundings. For one, everyone had extremely over exaggerated hair colours that seemed to come straight out of a cartoon.
Melody continued to walk to the shopping centre and when she finally arrived, she picked up all her ordinary groceries... there were some slightly different items as well. For example, what were these weird trinkets that everyone seemed to be grabbing.
She reached out and took one as well and read the description on the back.
'Use One Trinket a Day to Activate Your Enhancements. Enchanted by Wizards with a Power Level of 2 and above'
If there were active gods... then could there also be active wizards? That did magic like the movies. With a slight hesitation about the restrictions of what she could and couldn't ask on the chat, she swiftly typed in a question.
[hey, does the world have magic?]
Instantly, she saw that a RefinedQuartz was typing.
RefinedQuartz: Yes, the world that you are in contains wizards. If you're wondering if your one, it depends on your natural capabilities.
Sweet. So there was a chance to become that magic user that she wanted to be when she was ten years old.
RefinedQuartz: I suggest that you find a mortal that can do magic to help you. Self discovering magic in the beginning is extremely dangerous.
With that quick dialogue she understood the world around her more. These Body Enhancers seemed to work for a day, and allow the user to have slightly enhanced powers. They only worked if you were completely non magical though.
After a second thought, she decided to put it back down and check out at the counter.
This time, as she walked back home, she saw seemingly impossible things. Small children lifting huge tables.
When she finally reached her house, she was exhausted but... what was this? There was a small note that had been slipped under her door.
