CH 25

The next day at the game Theo was starting as pitcher. The first pitch was a fast ball high and inside.

Jace called for the 2nd pitch to be a curve ball but Theo struggled shopl his head.

Jace then called for a low and away sinker. The batter fouled off the ball

Jace once again asked for a high inside curve.

This time Theo agreed with the pitch and struck the batter out.

for the 2nd batter Jace asked for 2 fast balls high and inside then. low and away curve.

Theo liked all the calls and struck the the batter out. The next batter grounded out to the new 3rd baseman.

The first 2 at bat got out while the 3rd hit a single to center field.

Theo hit a double after getting 2 balls. Caleb worked his way to a full count and ended up getting walked.

Joe got up and saw a fast ball he liked but sadly the right fielder chased it down for the 3rd out.

The first batter in the 2nd inning hit a hard live drive to Joe who cought it for the first out.

The next batter hit a ball straigh back at Theo hitting his pitching arm.

Theo managed to grab the ball and flick it to first earning the 2nd out but it easy to see he was in pain.

The umpire stopped the game as the Jace, Caleb, and joe all ran to the mound and started asking Theo if he was ok.

Coach Williams was at the mound before Theo could give an answer and so was the athletic trainer .

Theo's arm had a nasty bruise already below the elbow. By the time Steve a Janine got to the mound it was already decided that he would go to the hospital to be checked out. Both this parent escorted Theo to the car but on the way from the mound Theo looked back at Jace and told him they better still win.

With Theo out of the game Jace can't pitch cause theres no other catcher.

The coach put in the wild pitcher. Before the kid could throw any balls Jace went up to him and told him to just put it near or in the strike zone he would do the rest.

The wild pitchers first pitch was a high inside ball scaring the current batter.

the count got to 2 balls 2 strikes The pitch ended going dead center and got smashed to Caleb who caught the ball with ease.

Jace hit the first pitch and it hit the wall. Jace ran as fast as he could and earned a in the park home run.

The next 2 got on base with singles.

then the 4th batter did a sacrifice bunt.

the 5th batter ended up doing a sac fly. The 6th batter was hit by a pitch before the pitcher was changed.

The next batter was the new pitcher witch struck out swinging.

At the top of the third they did another pitcher change and the junk ball thrower came on the mound.

The pitcher got 2 out then allowed 2 on. Jace seeing the runner on 2nd lead off and looked distracted called for a way outside ball then threw the runner out.

Caleb and Joe got back to back triples and this time Jace hit a out of the park home run. making the score 5 to 0.

The next 3 all got out. At the top of the 4th it became a definitive game for the most part making it go to the top of the 7th and final inning with the score at 5 to 3.

The junk ball pitcher let up another double before they out in another pitcher.

The other team got to used to the slow pitching and on the first fast ball the batter hit into a double play.

The next batter popped the ball up to Jace for the final out.

Jace quickly grabbed all his stuff and started making his way out of the base ball field. one of the players pnt he bench had went to the changing room and already grabbed Jaces bag of cloths for him.

Jace was planning on running to the hospital but when he got to the parking lot Analese and her parents were the and offered him a ride to the hospital.
