In the vast void there are innumerable points shining bright like tiny pinpricks of white light set off against a black canvas.
A closer look reveals that each point is in fact a star ; a massive ball of fire radiating heating and light.
Suddenly however the stars begin to inflate at a rapid pace some keep on getting bigger and bigger till they eventually burst apart scattering all across the void , others cease to grow after a certain point and instead continuously shrink till they lose all of their warmth.
Either way after the brief period of the upheaval where their grandeur is the maximum possible they fade away into oblivion sinking the void into an eternal darkness.
The void is now a vast cemetery not just because of the massive corpses of the stars that have been buried into the fathoms but also due to the disappearance of all life that roamed freely in the starry skies in an era now long since gone.
Be it the most ordinary of beasts or the greatest beings who having paved the Great Dao have attained [Eternal Life] none have been able to escape this calamity ; for this time it is a true end of worlds.
When the myriad realms extinguish there is no place to hide ; in front of the final judgement all are equal.
Nobody knows how long has passed since then ; for time itself has ceased to exist since that meaning.
Suddenly a slender form appearing incomparably minuscule compared to the endless void appears on this empty realm ; treading over the nothingness with ease with each movement carrying an unparalleled grace.
This being bears the form of a man wearing the clothing of a traditional Dao Master , his form is fuzzy and his face unclear ; like mist he seems to shimmer between the realms of reality and illusion.
Even so each incorporeal step of his bears an incomparable dignity causing the very void to vibrate in response to his presence.
The Great Tribulation that has swallowed up all of the realms of existence seems to bear no effect on this Dao Master.
Regardless of experiencing an infinitude of cataclysms and destruction of a scale beyond compare his form is unaffected.
Even if the Heaven has perished he is imperishable , even if the myriad realms have extinguished he is inextinguishable.
With a will , all of existence dances to his tune.
In this eternal darkness that has covered the myriad realms the radiant splendour he carries in his parson is the source of final light.
In a realm of collapse where time and space have lost their meaning and all the rules have descended into chaos he stands still unaffected for he is a being who has transcended the concept of rule itself.
The man walks on towards the remnants of what had once been a star giving warmth to a thriving planet teeming with life.
He sits cross-legged in front of it for what could be an eternity and could also have been but a single instant due to the utter meaninglessness of the passage of time.
Eventually he lifts a finger and prods it at the last vestiges of rock that had once been the core of the star .
A bright flame appears on its surface momentarily vanishing an instant after even so its job has already been done.
Strangely the dead core begins to glow fiercely and is lit up once more as if responding to a summons pieces of rock begin converging on the core and eventually plumes of gas are attracted towards it forming an outer surface.
The star is lit once more.
Tremors pass through the void and time itself is reversed .
The dead are brought back to life and the destroyed realms slowly begin to return back to what it once was.
Unlike the void which is enduring rebirth the form of the man begins to fade away increasingly as the world is brought back to life he himself is drawn into oblivion.
For that is the price he has paid.
A solemn sigh spreads across the void its source being the man .
"Millions of years pass by in a single instant
Civilisations arise only to fade into the mist
Heroes dazzle leaving only skeletons behind
Mountains rise only to sink into the vast blue
And stars shine bright only to fall into the void
For all is but a dream fading into the horizon "
After saying these words his form currently indistinguishable from a mirage finally fades away.
The world is restored back to once it was with none being the wiser of the cataclysm that had devoured everything.
Eventually the tribulation shall arrive once again and the great twilight will descend once more.
Is there any possibility of escape the next time ?
The answer is unknown.
