Laura Conti's POV
The Amalfi coast was like heaven on Earth. It has beautiful beaches, nice sea breeze and there were lots of people around the beaches and also on the road. It is very windy but in a good way. I was wearing the sunglasses that Lucca gave and he also wore one. I was looking at him in the peripheral view as he was driving through the road.
"beautiful, is it?" Lucca said as he was driving down the lane.
"Yeah, it is. Very much," I said as I was at the coast. The wind blew my hair as I was letting my hair down. I could not bother to let it out of my face, I was too excited to look at my surrounding. I can hear that Lucca chuckled beside me but I don't give a damn.
"we'll be arriving soon. We need to buy you some clothes before we go to my parent's mansion," he said before taking a left turn that was going into a market place. I just nodded.
after he found a spot to park the car, he went out of the driver seat to open the door for me. Thankfully, this time, he let me wear my shoes and walked on my own. It would be more embarrassing if he had to carry me again in that bridal style.
"Let's go in here," he said as he took my hand and we went into a local boutique that has a display of the various range of clothing.
"Welcome, may I be of your assistance today?" The sales person was talking to Lucca as she eyed him up and down. No doubt that my fiancé was everyone eye candy but that doesn't mean she had the right to ignore me.
"hi, yes, umm, I want all the dress and clothing that you have in her size," he said as he pulled me to his side. His gesture made my heart ache a little. "my fiancée forgot her clothes so I think you might have what we need," he said, smiling at the salesperson. She beamed with happiness when he did that before he continued, "I don't mind she just naked all around but we will be visiting my parents so it would not be appropriate," Lucca said before the smile of the salesperson died.
"of course, come this way, miss," she said with a murderous voice that can send chills to my bones. I looked at Lucca before I went inside the fitting room.
"Here are some of our best dresses and clothing, please let me know if it not fit," she said before dumping all the dress on the chair inside the fitting room.
"Okay, thanks," I said politely before she stormed out of the room. I shrugged at her sudden behavior before choosing some of the dresses that caught my eyes.
The first one would be the aqua blue short dress that hangs perfectly on my body. I looked at it in the mirror before someone was knocking on the door.
"are you okay in there?" Lucca asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just trying some dresses," I said before I make a small twirl with the dress.
"come out, I want to see it," he said. Knowing Lucca, if I don't do what he wanted me to, he will break the door. I slowly opened the door before I walked out and showed it to him.
"what do you think?" I asked as I twirled in front of him.
" it's okay, try something else," he said and I changed a couple more.
After a few minutes then dragged too few hours, we finally finished picking up my new clothes. I just picked up a few dresses and jeans and blouses that were fitting for the sunny Mediterranean weather but Lucca insisted that I need all of them
"Don't be ridiculous, Lucca. I don't need that much for our 3 days 2 nights stay. I can survive with just 5 clothing items," I tried to reason with him as the price for that many pieces were already 5000 euro.
"Nonsense, we need all of them. What will you wear if we have some unnoticed events?" He said. I rolled my eyes at him.
"I can recycle dresses. Have you ever heard of laundry?" I said as I arched my eyebrows at him.
"yeah, but my mother would never allow her future daughter-in-law to wear the same dress twice," he reasoned.
"did you know that not all people have the luxury to even afford food let alone the luxurious clothing that you bought for me. If you can, maybe perhaps donate it to charity,' I said before I stormed out of the store and went to the car. A few moments later, Lucca came out of the store with just one shopping bag.
"here you go," he said as he gave the bag to me. I arched my eyebrow at him before peeking inside, it has only 5 pieces of clothing that I chose earlier.
"thank you, now can we go? I am starving," I said before my stomach growled. I blushed at the sound.
"looks like I really need to feed you. Come along, mother and father are waiting for us. Oh, and also my younger sister, Talia. She just got back from her study abroad program in France," he said as he opened the door for me to get in.
"well, I can't wait to meet her," I said before Lucca walked to his side and drove off from the market place.
It was another 30 minutes drive from the market place to the Giovanni Mansion. Apparently, it was located at the top of the mountain as we can see the view of the whole Amalfi coast. I can only imagine how much does it cost to build a house over there. Lucca parked his Lamborghini in front of the foyer and a butler come to greet him.
"Welcome home, young master," he said before bow to him
"how's it going, Matteo," he said before he went to my side to open the door for me and offered his hand. I took it as I got out of the car. The wind was still blowing in my hairs as it was blocking my view before I have to smooth it out with my hands.
"is this her, sir?" The butler inquired my relationship with Lucca.
"yes, you might not remember but she's Laura, Uncle Oronzo's daughter," Lucca said as he pulled me to his side.
"Of course! My word, you have become beautiful my lady since the last time I saw you," the butler said as he bowed to me. I courtesies to him as well.
"right, enough chit chat. Let's get inside, Laura has been dying to get some lunch," Lucca teased before I smacked his broad chest. He mimicked as he was in pain.
"don't listen to him, Matteo. He just joking," I said before smiling at him and went inside with Lucca.
"is she here? Is she here?" A new petite voice was coming from inside of the house. We were in front of the entrance when I felt someone was pushing down on my weight. I was pushed back a little. I looked at Lucca to inquire who was this person that was hugging me.
"Talia, mind your manners. Let Laura breathe. She just gets off the flight," a familiar voice was coming from inside of the house. A moment later, Uncle Lorenzo popped out from the big door.
"No, I don't want to let her go. Brother has kept her to himself. Now, I want to take her from him. She will be mine for the rest of the weekend," Talia pouted as she did not want to release her hold on me. I chuckled at her behavior.
"stop that this instant, Talia. Look at you, behaving like a child," an authority voice coming from the inside and instantly Talia moved away from me. Oh no, not again. The memories of my childhood that were being controlled by this voice was very painful that I don't want to remember it.
There she was, Sofia Giovanni. A strict and merciless aristocrat that controls my childhood whenever I'm playing at Lucca's house. There were so many manners and rules that I was glad I don't have to follow anymore.
"Well, won't you greet me, young lady?" She said while looking at me up and down. I feel like I was being undressed under her starling gray eyes. It was like a cold frost that catches me on my back.
"good afternoon, ma'am. How are you? It has been a long time since I meet you," I said as a courtesy to her. Lucca sighed at his mother treatment toward me.
"Hello, mother. How are you?" Lucca said before kissing both her cheeks.
"and you, mister, only come visit us when you want to get married," she said as she was eyeing me up and down again before went inside the house.
"don't mind her, she has been dying to see who is Lucca's fiancée is and it turned out to be you. It's good to have you to join our family and I am sorry for your loss. Your father was a good man," uncle Lorenzo said as he patted my back.
"why we all stand here? come, come inside, it's 100 degrees out here," he said while pulling me inside. I saw in the corner of my eyes that Talia was whispering something to Lucca and his face expression suddenly turned dark. I wondered what was all that about.
"Lucca, mi amore, you're back," an unfamiliar voice coming from the living room and a figure were running toward Lucca and before I know it, a blonde was kissing my fiancé.
