Jinhee POV
I don't feel awkward at all. I kinda guessed that he liked me. I just never thought that he LOVES me.
I'm sorry oppa, but I won't be able to fullfill your wish. I hope you find someone better than me.
I fell asleep thinking about what I could do to make my best friend feel better and get over me.
I woke up to my stupid alarm the next morning.
"Ugh, I hate waking up early." I said as I slapped the stop button on my clock.
I glared at the clock, muttering, "I swear, I will kill you one day."
Then I stood up and went to take a quick morning shower cause I felt all sticky and disgusting.
I took a sniff of my shirt almost gagged. I smelled like rotton fish.
What the hell?!
Definitely need a cold shower.
*After shower*
I got changed into a yellow and blue shirt with black denim shorts and a pair of black boots. I took out the black laces and replaced them with neon blue and yellow laces. One on each boot. Now it matches my shirt.
"Perfect!"
I took my time strolling to school as I was too lazy to drive today.
Whistling a soft tune as I entered the school gates, I grabbed the textbooks that I needed for my first class and sauntered off.
An image of Jimin oppa confessing to me yesterday flashed across my mind and I halted abruptly.
"I should go look for him."
That being said, I hurried to my classroom and spied Jimin oppa sitting at his seat, a couple of seats away from mine.
I walked right over and sat down in the seat next to him.
"Hiya! You doing okay?"
He looked startled for a second but recovered quickly and gave me a gentle smile, "I am now."
I chuckled. "So...where do you wanna go for our date?"
I whispered into his ear, making a blush spread from his neck to the back of his ears.
He thought for a while, placing his index finger in his chin and tapped continuously.
"I got it! Let's go to the National Park! They just opened up a new trail there! We should go see it."
His eyes sparkled with excitement. I grinned and gave him a thumbs up. I can't wait.
Jungkook POV
I texted Jinhee, saying to meet me at the school gates before class started. I wanted to discuss where we should go for our hang out today.
She never came.
Did she read my message? I checked my phone for the millionth time and tried to call her again. And again the call went to voicemail.
Maybe she turned off her phone. I shrugged and walked to class. Once I entered the classroom, I spotted Jinhee sitting next to Jimin hyung.
They seemed to be talking about something very secretive, because they were whispering into each other's ears.
My heart squeezed at their close contact. I decided to break up their little conversation by tackling Jimin hyung to the floor and start tickling him.
He screeched in laughter while Jinhee stood behind me, an amused expression on her face.
Everyone in the classroom stared at us because of the noise we were producing. I didn't care. To hell with those busy bodies, always staring at us like they have nothing better to do.
I stopped torturing Jimin hyung with tickles and his laughing seized after a while.
"Well that's one way to go about introducing yourself into the conversation." Jinhee commented and I sniggered.
"What were you guys whispering about?" I asked, curious. They exchanged glances and Jinhee answered with a, "Nothing!"
I furrowed my eyebrows, feeling suspicious, but I let it slide.
While the teacher had her back turned towards us, I whispered, "Psst! Jinhee! Where should we go for our hangout today?"
As soon as I said that, her eyes widened and she gasped, "Oh shit! I'm so sorry! I totally forgot about it!"
Jinhee POV
How could I have forgotten?! I was supposed to hang out with Jungkook today!
"Oh shit! I'm so sorry! I totally forgot about it!" I exclaimed.
Dang it! What do I do now? I can't cancel on Jiminie oppa, I'll crush his heart!
But Jungkook... My face fell, I'll have to cancel. I hate this...
"Uh Jungkook, could we do the hangout another day? I forgot that Jimin oppa and I had plans today."
My heart sank when I saw his crestfallen face.
"I'll make it up to you. We can do it tomorrow."
"Pinky promise?"
He held up his pinky finger. I mentally rolled my eyes at his childishness.
"Pinky promise." I repeated and hooked my pinky with his.
"What are you guys doing together anyway?" he inquired.
I winced, deciding not to tell him about our date.
"Nothing, just hanging out like how we used to."
"Oh."
Jinhee you pabo!
I sighed. It's gonna be hard to juggle between these two.
Jimin POV
Jinhee really is the best, doing this for me although she doesn't like me.
I wouldn't have expected something less from someone like her. She's so precious.
I saw her talking to Jungkook during class since he's sitting behind her.
He looked sad for a moment before Jinhee said something while pinky-promising him. They seemed close. Not even one day of them being friends and they're relationship is as good Jinhee and I's.
If this goes on, they will eventually date, and I would have to watch them getting all lovey-dovey with each other.
I sighed. Well I can't stop it if that really happens.
*End of school*
I drove us to the National Park since Jinhee didn't drive to school. The car ride was silent.
We didn't talk much except exchange a few sentences here and there. It wasn't an awkward silence, it was a comfortable silence.
I parked the car and we got out. She smiled sweetly at me and my heart jumped.
I can't go on like this, she'll give me a heart attack one of these days. She paid for the tickets, much to my dismay.
She protested so much that I had to give in. We looked around for the directory, trying to find the entrance to the newly opened trail.
It's called Lakecross Trail, and it leads to one of Korea's largest lakes.
We found the entrance and handed our tickets over to the security guard.
"Alrighty lovebirds in you go." he smiled at us.
I felt my cheeks heat up while Jinhee just grinned at him. As soon as we walked in, Jinhee grabbed onto my hand.
"Remember? I'm your girlfriend for the day. We should at least act like a couple."
I blushed furiously and gave a bashful smile.
We followed the winding path hand in hand, occasionally pointing out the beautiful flowers on the tree branches, and the colourful birds flying around freely.
There was no one else besides us around the area just next to the lake. I gasped at the crystal water, marvelling at it's beauty.
The lake was teeming with life. I vaguely heard Jinhee cursing while admiring the scenery.
A few minutes of silence proceeded as the both of us drank in the sight of one of nature's wonders.
I tore my gaze away from the lake when I heard some rustling behind us.
I narrowed my eyes, scanning the bushes for anyone or anything sneaking up on us.
I saw nothing and I didn't think about it further when I felt Jinhee tugging on my hand.
"Come on! We have to take a picture!"
She dragged me along with her to the boundary fence, as close to the lake as possible, and took out her phone.
She slung her arm around my shoulder while I wrapped my arm her waist tentatively and smiled at the camera.
Once the picture was saved, she kept her phone. "This place is beauti---" she ended her sentence abruptly after swinging her head back to face me, forgetting that we were still in our pose.
Jinhee POV
I trailed off when I realised just how close I was to Jimin oppa's face. He was staring at me.
The water in the lake crashed against the banks, making soft splashing noises in the background.
I blinked, taking in his facial features.
Jimin oppa has a very handsome face, according to Korean standards, I'd say that he's definitely above average, but I've never looked at him as anything more than a brother and my best friend.
"Can I get just one last kiss?"
I snapped out of my daze and gave him my confused face.
"I...I just want to make the most of this date, since it'll probably be the last I'll ever go on...with you."
I saw the deperation in his eyes.
