I'm the girl from last night.

"Do you work here, Miss Hayley?" He asked without any change in his tone.

I almost lie to him before my conscious wakes me up. He was soon to be my boss and my lies would get caught straight away. I had no mention of working as a hotel cleaner and during my interview, I signed documents that stated that if any lies were found I would be terminated from my post immediately. At times like this honesty was best.

"Well, you might find this strange..but um no we don't.."

"Hayls, we need to keep our cov.." Rebecca hisses next to me

"I can't lie to him." I quietly tell her.

"Yes? I'm listening." Robert breaks our little debate.

I then tell him the whole truth, starting from the ball to this very moment he found us.

"Hmm, interesting. I might be able to help." He tells us with a warm brotherly smile but with mischief hidden underneath.

"That's great mister!" Rebecca exclaims beside me and beams.

"In this case, you mustn't meet prince Kole, Hayley. It's best if your friend goes in your place."

"But..but.." Rebecca whimpers

"Think about it. If Miss Hayley goes and paparazzi gets hold of her, her reputation at work will be ruined. She'll be known as the girl who seduced Prince Kole to get the job and this might even lead her to get fired." Robert cooly explains.

We both nod in understanding and I apologetically look at Rebecca.

"Sorry, Becca."

"Fine, I'm happy to help. Give me your bag."

She takes my bag of clothes and a few makeup products and heads to the changing room while me and Robert wait for her nearby.

I awkwardly stand beside him at loss for words and to pass the time I clutch and unclutch my fingers repeatedly.

Robert quietly chuckles beside me and gives me a reassuring smile.

"You don't have to be nervous around me. Just think of me as your big brother."

"Oh alright."

I quickly reply, feeling less uncomfortable.

He is a tall man and before I ask my next question I look up at him.

"So, well we have a little time I wanted to ask about prince Elijah." I break our silence.

He looks down at me and answers.

"He is a man of few words and scary at times but once you get to know him, you'll see."

He replies but it was not at all helpful. In fact, what he said I already knew. I nod looking downward.

"Word of advice, he is a bit of a clean freak." He softly whispers.

"Yes, I can see."

We both laugh feeling more at ease but we are soon disturbed.

"Robert, how come you're here today?" Sky breaks our little chat.

"I could ask you the same thing," Robert replies back.

From their encounter, I could sense some form of hostility between the two but I stay quiet while the two exchange comments.

"For Prince Kole."

"For Prince Elijah."

Their encounter ends here just as swiftly and he leaves but not before giving me a slight smile.

I smile back and turn toward Robert.

"The two of you don't seem to be on friendly terms," I tell him once Sky's out of sight.

"Yes, we've been at odds since a couple of years back." He replies and changes back to his gentleman persona as if he didn't just meet Sky.

*

"She's here just as you predicted Kole" Sky tells Prince Kole while both of them stay staring at the two people.

Prince Kole gives Sky a satisfied smile but not enough to convince his friend.

"Let's go meet the ladies." Prince Kole tells him before getting inside the elevator and towards floor one.

Outside the hotel, paparazzi wait patiently for their juicy news followed by the long line of ladies who came pretending to be Cinderella from the night before.

The only problem was, Prince Kole already knows his Cinderella.

*

"I'm back." Rebecca comes running towards us and complains at my choice of outfit. She would much rather wear a fancier dress than the one I chose. Although, she still looked absolutely beautiful in that white summer dress.

I ignore her and turn towards Robert but before I get the chance to utter a word, he simply bows and apologizes.

"I have some matters to tend to. I'll meet you both downstairs."

"Goodluck Miss Hayley's friend."

He says and swiftly walks away.

We stood staring at his back for a few seconds longer and soon we too headed downstairs.

Once we reached the venue, herds of ladies had filled the area. Every single one looked more astonishing than the other.

Centre of them all seated Prince Kole, Sky, and some bodyguards seeming like the judges of some beauty pageant.

Longline of ladies stood in front of them and each was called out when the other finished their introduction.

Soon it seemed Prince Kole was tired of all the wrong answers, he came up with a better alternative.

"Ladies, may I have your attention?" Sky spoke in a cordless mic, bringing all the attention onto him and soon the room quieted down.

"Prince Kole would like each of you to write down the exact content and your full name on a piece of paper and put them here in this table." He speaks and leaves a couple of large sticky papers and pens on the table.

As soon as Sky is done, the ladies race towards the table forgetting their lifelong lessons of "How to Be a Lady".

"Let's wait till all the ladies are done," I tell Rebecca and she quickly agrees.

I walk towards the reception and pull out a sticky note and pen and write down everything I could remember was inside my purse.

Vaseline lip balm

Red lip gloss

Credit card

Ring (Purple gem)

And in the end I signed Rebecca's name.

"Rebecca Mikealson".

I hand it to Rebecca and look around at other ladies whose list seemed to be a lot longer than mine. They were obviously trying to fit everything on it in hopes that at least most of them matched up with their list and prince Kole might make an exception.

"They are either dumb or just dumb!" Rebecca criticised next to me and the ladies close to us glared at Rebecca but she acted as if she didn't see them.

Soon the table was filled with neatly folded up papers and one by one both Prince Kola, Sky, and their bodyguards read them.

None of the ladies got the correct items written down and so all of them were sent home.

Finally, it was time for Rebecca. I stayed hidden behind the large tree statue, while Rebecca walked up towards prince Kole with the sticky note.

"I am the girl from last night," Rebecca said and handed over the note.
