I take the document outside with me and head straight to Adricia's office. She seems a bit shocked to see me but quickly changes into her professional look.
"What can I help you with?"
"I disapprove of this proposal." I say to her directly.
"I expect you must have a reason to do so."
"Yes, in fact I believe I have an idea which will take us out of this mess."
She stays silent for a moment, deep into her thoughts and as if she made up her mind she looks up at me again. Not an emotion in sight, no judgement and neither was she looking down at me. She had the face that only wanted results and fast.
"Come find me after lunch."
I give her my smile and nod.
I head back inside my office and start dealing with Prince Elijah's upcoming appointments. I scroll through the hundreds of names that had been listed for a meeting with Prince Elijah but only fifteen of those had been given approval by Mr Robert. Ten more names were listed below, in case the approved company's failed to answer my calls. He was seriously a very demanded man. The first one on the list was none other than the former Prince Shahrukh Ali Khan of "SA", a country known for its wealth and rich culture. I read through his information to find their plans and business dealings; over 30 billion dollars had already been invested for their latest electric car company, with Prince Elijah having 30% of the shares. This man must be someone very powerful, for him to throw that big of an amount for a project that could potentially end up being unsuccessful. I read in the news a few years back about how he gave up his birth right to the throne for his younger brother and solely focused on his car business which is now worth billions of dollars. It was reported that the public were actually celebrating his announcement as they had been saved from this car geek. However, no one actually knows the real situation as 'SA' is a very private country and not a lot of outsiders are allowed into the country. Not only that but he also recently gave up his royal title and became a free man. 'Alright, time to start working.' I say to myself and take a big breath in. A black phone was placed next to me, I pick it up and punch down his numbers before pressing the dial button. Within three rings I hear the person on the other end speak.
"Hi, you're speaking to Shahrukh." A very rich and gravelly calm voice answers with a slight accent. I quickly come to my senses and answer him back.
"Hello Mr Khan, I'm Hayley; Prince Elijah's Personal assistant."
"So it seems the lion finally decides to reach out." He says and continues. "Tell that bastard I'm always ready to talk."
I remained silent for a while, unsure about how I should answer him. By the way he spoke just now, he must be a close friend of Prince Elijah.
"Um...that's great Mr Khan. Will Monday next week at 10am work for you?"
"Yes, I'll be there. Thank you Miss Hayley, was it?"
"Yes, that's my name." I say and quickly dismiss him off. "Thank you for your time, have a lovely day Mr Khan."
"You too." He replies and ends the call.
I soon finish calling rest of the people from the list and I was glad the rest of them were not at all awkward. All the fifteen people managed to pick my calls so there was no need for me to choose from the backup list down below.
It was time for lunch by the time I finished filling out Prince Elijah's timetable for the next two weeks. I saved the file and shared it with both Mr Robert and Prince Elijah before logging out. Once I was done I began cleaning up my workplace and arranged the files in order. Seeing I still had five more minutes I walk out towards my balcony through the sliding door, only to be met with the most beautiful view of the city. I breath in the fresh air as the breeze softly blows my hair, 'Ahhh...this feels nice. Perfect.' I say to myself. Everything looks so tiny from here and I finally feel like I'm on top of the world, my life was finally at a place where I truly belonged. Well...At least I hope I belong here and this isn't some sort of a dream. Down the road was a flower shop, although from up here it is impossible to see something so small but looking at it makes me think of my mother and her little flower shop. She worked day and night to survive and feed the two of us till I was able to grow up and earn some money. I smile thinking back to those old memories like it was just yesterday that it took place; most nights she'd walk alone down the street to get the freshest flower for her shop just to meet all the customers demands. She wouldn't allow me to help her because she didn't trust the streets at night but I was always stubborn and went with her anyway. I can't do that anymore because she's gone and it'll never be like that again. She was always worried about my future, she didn't want me to end up like her and look at me now. I wish she could see me now, I can just imagine how proud she would be. I would've given her the life she truly deserved, everything that our dad took away from her but it's too late now. I only wish that one day he'll regret his decisions and that day I'll be the happiest person alive.
I'm suddenly distracted from my thoughts as the knock on my door continues.
"I'm coming." I say and quickly run to open the door.
"Hi Hayley, I'm so glad we're in the same team." A very cheerful voice speaks; out of breath.
