Water: Taken Away

The dagger never met my chest, though to be honest it gave me quite a fright. I stumbled backwards and let out a startled cry as my mother and most of the elders within the sect gathered around me in an attempt to protect me. The daggers that were thrown at me, were now firmly lodged in my mother's forearm and it was rapidly turning purple. The disciples were all on alert as a dozen men dressed head to toe in what I would call red ninja clothes appeared and were standing on literally! The air.

My mother gave a mocking scoff as raised her right hand up, her palm glowing with a metallic haze. Then she chopped her palm down, over her left hand, dislodging the entire hand from her shoulder. As the arm fell to the ground, I let out another startled cry as the entire thing shocked me. My mother has always made sacrifices for me, even from my past life, but this was the first time I've ever seen her bleed, and she did it all for me.

It was understandable that she would sacrifice anything for her son, but this, this was very painful for me. The daggers that she just blocked were poisonous, very much so and quite potent. There was no way she would have saved her arm on time, so she gave up on it and decisively cut it off. This version of my mother was a whole lot more scary than I imagined, but this was so very painful, my mother had lost an arm because of me.

It seems that even in this life, I'm not beyond being an incredibly stupid human being who always causes the people who love him pain. I didn't want that to happen, not anymore and not again. No words were said with the people who had just appeared, but it's obvious they came here with the intent to kill, and their target was no one else but me. It's fault this happened to my mother, all my fault.

The people dressed in red clothes all scattered about as they tried to fight and attack the group of elders now standing around me. Their target was obviously me, however it seems none of the masters of the sect was going to let that happen. Soon enough the skies shook, as flashes of a weapons glint filled the air and martial arts way beyond my current scope of understanding was brought to bare. This was a fight of champions, of legends, and the fact that I'm the one this fight was happening over, sort of made me scared, and at the same time excited. How many people can say that they're as important as me, not one person at all.

After a few exchanges with the elders, with casualties on both sides, two of the red ninjas decided to make a play for me. And moved so fast, no one was able to catch up to them. It was at this point I got really scared, seems Luke these people waited for my mother to move away from me a bit before attacking. I was completely helpless under their assault, and once again I saw my very second short life flash before my eyes. And then.

*Boooom!* an intense pressure was felt, it was so powerful that it brought everyone here to their knees. It was difficult for me to breathe, but the sword in my hands was releasing a pressure of it's own. And even though it was not even a quarter as powerful as the pressure that brought everyone to their knees, it was still powerful enough to be taken notice of. The sword was protecting me, and just for that alone, the looks of greed and murder in their eyes became a whole lot more powerful.

"Do you people think that my mountain! Is a place where you can recklessly walk into, and murder a child! A child favored by the heavens itself, do you think that I the great Long Tian is senile and incapable of keeping my children safe. Let this be a warning to all of the world, if it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get, not even a smudge of dirt is to be seen on his clothes, or else.....War!!!"

And just like that all of the people who came here to attack me, just burst into a shower of blood and bones. I did not even see who had spoken, but obviously based on the amount of dead bodies littered allover the floor, he must be really powerful. But he's not the sect master, because the sect master was standing not far from me bowing towards the inner part of the mountain in a respectful manner.

I had to say though, that whoever owned the voice must be ridiculously powerful, or he had some sort of super megaphone I don't know of yet. His voice rumbled everywhere and left tingles and vibrations across my skin in an unplanned display of power. I really wanted to know who this guy was, or what he was. Maybe it was because I'm still a child, or I just didn't really care about my surroundings anymore now that the people trying to kill me were dead. All I wanted to do was focus on the voice, and it seems he's not done talking either.

"Ye Suiyan I shall take your son as my disciple. He will remain with me in the hidden area of the sect until he reaches the peak of the open channel realm, or he turns twelve. This way we can keep him safe and away from the people who might want to hurt him. Do you have any objections?" the voice asked my mother. And even though I could see the unwillingness in her eyes, she still bowed down her head and said.

"The ancestor is wise and farsighted, I have no objections."

"Very good, I shall take him now!" and with that said I felt a powerful gust of wind wrap around my body and drag me away into the air, away from my mother and away from the life I've know for the past five years. I don't really care who this master is anymore, not after what he just did. Because even if he wanted to save me, the least he could have done was let me say goodbye.
