Sabrina Dubois' POV
The flight from LAX to Paris was a very rough one. I had to go through TSA a lot as they don't want Selena debaux or Sabrina Dubois got out of the country undetected. Well, as far as I'm concerned, I already out. I was home. I went to get the metro ticket for Lyon that will be departing in 10 minutes.
I went to board the train and I was so happy that I was finally here. With my own identity. With my people. I was relieved to get out of that shit hole country. Of whatever happened there. It was time to start fresh.
"good morning ladies and gentlemen. We will be departing now, please fasten your seatbelt and we will be arriving in Lyon soon," the conductor said as he went to get the tickets from the passengers. I gave it and I was sleeping the whole trip as I was jet-lagged from the trip out of the United States with a bounty on my head.
"ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived in Lyon. Please make sure that you have all the items with you. Thank you for choosing Metro. Have a nice day," the conductor said before I went to get off the train. I was excited to see the fresh countryside in my home country. I was happy as I knew that my host family would be excited to have me home.
"it's good to be back," I said before went outside the metro and my host family has been waiting for me.
"Sabrina, over here," they called as I can see them.
"mom, dad," I said as I went to hug them. My little sister was there too.
"I was so worried. How are you darling?" My mother asked me as I was tearing up.
"oh, hush, honey. It's okay. You're home now," my mum said as I just lied to them about me getting fired from the company.
"it's okay, you can have your rest. We will find you a job in Lyon. There might be a lot of opening here," my dad tried to encourage me. I lashed as I don't know what to say.
"I doubt they have any opening for microbiologist," I said as I looked at them.
"it's okay, you can still work at family's organic farm," my dad joked. I laughed before we went to the car before my dad drove off to our cozy home.
"I hope you like chicken soup," my mum said as I got out of the car. I turned to look around. It did not change at all after 6 months I have been to the United States.
"it's my favorite," I said as I took my backpack with me.
"come on, don't be shy. You missed your home, don't you?" My father said as he took my luggage inside the room.
"yeah, my home," I said as I went inside the house.
"dinner's ready!" My mum shouted as I was inside the room, trying to settle in my room. It has nothing changed as I knew there would be nothing different from this.
"just a second," I said before I went out of the room and headed for the kitchen.
"come on, let's eat," my mum said as my sister helped her set up the table, I went to help my father to get settled in his chair. I was helping to get the utensils for the eating. As everything was settled, we sat down and we said our grace.
"Dear God, thank you for the food that you have given us tonight, please bring more prosperity and wealth in this house, Amen," my father finished.
"amen," we all said before we dug in with our dinner. We chatted, talked and catching up. I missed this. I haven't been myself lately as I barely have time for myself. After dinner, I helped with the dishes and I was so content that night. I went to bed early as my family knew I had a long journey. Once I hit the sack, sleep immediately took over me.
In the morning, I have woken up so early that I got the time to see the sunrise from our kitchen.
"Morning, dear," my mother chipped as she went inside the kitchen.
"Morning, mum," I said as I went to kiss her cheek.
"Something smells good," she said as she looked on the table. I turned to look at the table before smiling at her.
"something I made. I hope you guys like it," I said before I looked at the watch.
"Shoot, I'm late. See you tonight," I said before I went to kiss her cheek again.
"tonight? Where are you going?" She asks but I already out of the house.
I took my old bike and went to have a ride around the town. It was blissful as there was nothing that can keep me from worrying about anything. It's like I have been freed from all the things that I have done. I was having my freedom.
"woohoo, yeah!" I exclaimed as I went to ride around the town and I went to my favorite place in Lyon, the town library. It was still early as I can see Mr. Thomson was making his way to the library. I parked my bike before I ran to catch him.
"morning, Mr. Thomson," I said as I looked at him.
"ah, morning, Sabrina. You came home already?" He asked as he was unlocking the keys.
"yeah, I was so excited to get some reading done," I said as I looked at him. He nodded when he opened the door.
"The library was quiet when you were not around, you know?" He said as he walked in with me.
"really? I thought you might be swooned by ladies already," I joked with him. He laughed as he went to his spot.
"you know the rules," he said as I went to my favorite spot.
"you know I do," I said before I took a seat and I went to take the books about nanotechnology and all the shit that I need to know about it. I knew that Celine was dead but you can never know if she will strike again and even dangerous than last time.
The time went by so fast as I don't realize it was almost sunset. I need to be home now that I knew that I had coped myself inside the library today. I went to put the books back at its place and I went to say goodbye to Mr. Thomson.
"see you tomorrow," I said as he nodded before he was making some notes.
I went to my bike that was parked outside of the library and I went home, not noticing that I might be watched by someone that I would never think that I will ever see him again, not after what happened in the United States.
Nathan White's POV
"mum, I have to find my way. I don't think I would cope in this house, not after what happened," I said as I was feeling I need to get out of the house, of this country as I knew I would never felt something when Sabrina was around.
"honey, where you might want to go?" She asked as I was looking outside the window of my parents' home. I was so depressed that I cannot think any longer. Being discharged by my job got me stuck in the United States and I have to find my meaning in life.
"I have to go. I just…i had to," I said as I was turning to look at her. She was smiling sweetly at me as my lips turned in a thin line.
"I might know who could help you. Your father and he were an old friend. If anything happened, he would come to save us, son," she said as she took something from her purse. I was curious to know what was happening.
"here," she said as she gave me a name card.
"Alfred Turner, consultant of Safety inc." I read as I looked at the name.
"how do I find him?" I asked my mother when she was about to leave me alone.
"oh you don't find him, he finds you," my mother said as she went outside of the kitchen. I smiled as I looked at the name of the card.
"Femme Fatale Club," I read before I went to search on my phone. I typed it inside Google and it gave m the location in California.
"damn it," I said as I was not supposed to be traveling during my probation. I thought about something that might work. But suddenly, my home phone rang.
"Nathan, would you be a dear and get the phone, sweetie?" My mother shouts from outside.
"Okay, I got it," I said before I went to the phone and picked it up.
"White's residence," I said as I was listening for the person at the end of the line.
"I think it's due time for you and me have a talk, kid," Alfred's voice was filling my eardrum as I smiled like he knew that I was looking for him.
