Rain

It was like the heavens was mourning her tragic fate with her. The rain drizzled down hitting the tiles of the house in small plops before making its way to the small lotus pond that was connected to her room.

Recently, what Yingyue loved to do most was to sit in front of her room and listen to the sound of the rain, while sinking into her thoughts.

SLAP! Yingyue's face turned bright red as two small handprints appeared on her face. She couldn't keep going on like this.

'Although, I am now the villainess of this story, it doesn't mean that I, myself, will have to face this unfortunate fate. She is her and I am myself. My actions will bring upon a new fate and so what if it happens. At worst, I can just run away," thought Yingyue as a sweet smile crept up her face.

"Xiaojie, there are many wondrous things that can be seen only on rainy days. Would you like to go on a stroll?" gently asked Xiao Hong. Her mistress has become increasingly weird these days. It would be best if they could find something to help distract her and ease her worries. If this continues, she would have to ask master for another visit from the imperial physician soon.

"Okay, the rain isn't too rough right now. It would be best to get in some exercise," smiled Yingyue. It would be a good idea to go and explore her new home. Not to mention since young, she had always been very interested in chinese history. Although, the setting in the novel wasn't completely accurate, it still resembled ancient china very well. She was very excited to see the amazing details of ancient history.

In the midst of her excitement, Xiao Lan and Xiao Hong were able to quickly prepare her new wheelchair, coats, and winter accessories. She felt like a little snowball. From head to toe, besides her face everywhere was covered in fabric. She wasn't so delicate as to get sick just from walking outside.

"Wow, Xiaojie, look over there. It's a frog. We should capture it. Uncle chef in the kitchen has this great frog congee," Xiao Lan excitedly pointed at as she held the oil-paper umbrella.

Yingyue giggled softly as little puffs of air came out," Xiao Lan, you should hold the umbrella properly lest we get wet. If you want frog congee, then I'll request it tonight for dinner."

"Really?! Thank you, Xiaojie. You are always so nice to me!," said Xiao Lan excitedly. She loved frog congee the most. Xiao Lan could feel her saliva pooling in her mouth just from the thought of frog congee.

"Then, you should hurry and go request it or else it won't be able to make it on the dinner table," suggested Yingyue.

"But what about you, Xiaojie," Xiao Lan asked.

"It's fine, aren't I here?" Xiao Hong said reassuringly as she moved her umbrella to cover Yingyue's head allowing Xiao Lan to back off.

"Alright. I'll be right back," Xiao Lan said happily as she scurried away happily.

Watching the happy Xiao Lan scurry away in joy, unexpectedly lifted Yingyue's mood up. The two began ascending up the small, but long slope, careful not to trip. They were about halfway up the slope before a little eunuch came running up.

"Greetings, XIaojie, my apologies. However, the Lord is currently asking for Xiao Hong jiejie," bowed the little eunuch.

"Alright," agreed Yingyue. Her little chubby cheeks formed a cute, dimpled smile, as she waved her little hand.

"I will hurry back, so Xiaojie, please don't stray too far," said Xiao Hong worriedly. Her little mistress had barely recovered. If something happened to her, she wouldn't know what to do. Before she left she attached an extra umbrella onto the little wheelchair.

As Yingyue rolled slowly up the long slope, she felt particularly in a good mood. The rain always lifted her mood. Listening to the drizzle of rain go pitter-patter, allowed her to sink into the beautiful view of the gardens. Unfortunately, Yingyue would not be allowed to enjoy this scenery for much longer.

"What are you doing?" asked a boyish voice behind her.

Surprised, Yingyue turned around. However, that was a mistake as it caused her wheelchair to roll straight into the boy. The worse part was that the force of it launched her out of her chair into his arms. Unfortunately, he was not able to catch her and the two rolled down the slope. Yet, when they reached the bottom, they did not separate and instead, they merely stared at each other with the little boy on top.

Her eyes widened in shock. She had never seen such a beautiful person before that her heart jumped for a bit. Every feature was so flawless that it was like someone had carved him out of stone. However, his eyes seemed as if they were sucking in her soul. Even as a child, he was so outrageously handsome that it was so unfair.

"Can you please get off me?" asked Yingyue as she finally recovered her wits. 'She was a grown woman, she wasn't a shotacon! She shouldn't be so affected by this little kid,' she thought as she patted her chubby, red cheeks.

"I apologize," said the young boy as he helped her up.

"It's alright," she said as she stared at him curiously.

"Oh, I am Mingyu from the Lin House and this little lady is?" said the young boy as he bowed. His eyes never leaving the adorable little girl's figure.

Lin Mingyu? Lin Mingyu… Lin Mingyu! This was the name of this body's fiancee! This was the name of one of the male leads!

"I am Yingyue from the Jiang House," she said softly, her face blanching.

Gosh, did she hate the rain. She should have known. In a novel, rain does not just mean rain.
