The Imperial Army

While the trio was talking about the recruitment of Lu Liang unit which was determine that he will set up a recruitment camp to recruit five thousand men as reinforcement to the Liang pass. After settling business Gao Liang with his men set out soon after.

Two days later….

Ten miles from the Liang pass a dust storm could be seen and if one don't know better than he would think it's just a normal occurrence but for military experts it's the worst thing you could see at any given time.

Because within that storm are thousands upon thousands of men walking in square formation. Next to them are terrifying siege equipments and to top it off a single man at the very front leading them is letting off a huge pressure that could be felt all the way to Liang pass.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Ta-tap, Ta-tap, Ta-tap

"Archers on the walls now!"

"Put those anti-siege equipment into position!"

Noticing what is coming their way the sound of bells, footstep, and shouting of commands could be heard on top of the Liang pass that have been fortified for the past few days. Overall, the strength of Liang clan have increase significantly thanks to the effort of all those involved.

In the command tower Tuong Liang who put on his black armor watched the imperial army coming closer furrow his brows. Although he knows that they have a defensive advantage with preparations being done a few days earlier. But looking at that line up still give someone like him who been through many bloody wars an uneasy feeling.

Mainly due to the fact that Tuong Liang also received a report yesterday that throw what they know previously about the imperial army forces out the window.

The imperial army forces don't have fifty thousand soldier but instead they have one hundred thousand! As for their siege equipments that was said to be consists of siege tower and latter actually have much more.

Those other fifty thousand Pei soldiers and siege equipments actually came from multiple small cities that the imperial army planted in while using Huju city as the main place to attract the Liang clan attention.

Knowing all this Tuong Liang could only take a deep breath to calm his uneasy feeling so that it won't affect morale before continuing to passing down his orders.

Over at the other side, the imperial army have set up camp two miles from the Liang pass. In the biggest tent at the center of the camp four Pei Kingdom generals are standing in front of a man as they started to report.

General Ma Jing: "Commander Loi Pei, our scouts report that the Liang clan have set up defenses all around the wall. But from the report it also said that the Liang clan defense are limited to a few out dated equipment."

General Po Sing: "Another report also said that the amount of troops the Liang clan currently have defending Liang pass is no more then a little over five thousand soldiers."

General Re Ming: "Here I thought they gonna put up a good fight but it seems we will be going home sooner then expected. My scout reported that due to the narrow road with mountains on both side we can only let about three thousand troops attack each time."

General Za Xuong: "Haha, I know right. I can't believe the crown prince talk so highly of these barbarians when he show up at our camp back in Huju city."

After listening to the reports Loi Pei said "Do not underestimate the Liang clan otherwise you won't know how you die."

Hearing commander Loi Pei words cause the four general to become quite. They have follow their commander for years and not once did he say something so highly about his enemies. Except for the Fire dragon generals of Fang Kingdom, Immortal generals of Chi Kingdom, and Golden generals of the old imperial family.

But those are all famous individuals from strong kingdoms! How could the Liang clan compare to them?

Looking intently at his suordinates Loi Pei continue "Do you all know why the Pei Kingdom made the Liang clan a vassal state instead of conquering them?"

"And the fact that the Pei Kingdom have to secretly move our forces for months in multiple cities to avoid their detection just to attack the Liang clan? We even risk the crown prince life to distract and sabotage the Liang clan?

"Please enlighten us my lord." the four generals bow respectfully.

"Its because if given enough time then the Liang clan can muster a force that can face us head on and win!"

WHAT!? the four general exclaimed loudly from the shock.

General Ma Jing: "But how is that possible?"

With one word Loi Pei said "People."

Everyone: "...."

Seeing their confused face Loi Pei shake his head "you will all understand soon enough, pass down my orders to commence attack. Let test their strength."

Break out of their confusion everyone reply "Yes lord!"
