CHAPTER 9: Want me to teach you? (2)

"Do you need my help? Do you want me to teach you? I can teach you if you want?" He kindly offered. I glanced at him and thought about it. Should I or shouldn't? Hmm…. That's a hard question. If I let him help me it will greatly improve the speed of my work, but if that happens I will be with him most of the time! I don't think my heart can take it! "So do you want me to teach you?" He leaned a bit and I can see his handsome features on his serious face. I was like in a trance and I just nodded! He smiled widely after I agree with him. I suddenly snap out of it and tried to take back what I agreed to: "I mean, you don't need to teach me because it can be a hassle teaching me while you are studying… But you can help me from time to time…" I said weakly when I saw his face turning grim when I try to weasel my way out of it. He smiled again after I said that he could help me instead. "Since you agree, we can always meet at my apartment after class so we can finish your manuscript as soon as possible!" Eh?! Where did he say we shall meet?

"Where did you say we will meet after class again?" I asked again to make sure if I heard correctly or if I need to get my ears checked. "I said, that we can go meet at my apartment so we can finish your work. Why? If you're worried that you won't be able to finish it quickly you can even stay over at my place if ever you're too scared to walk home alone at night." He said as if it was so simple!

"Are you crazy?!" I couldn't help but raise my voice that made people looked our way. Embarrassed, I even sank lower in my chair and minimize my presence if possible so that people would not recognize me. "Are you seriously thinking it's okay for a single guy and a girl to stay in a room?! Alone!? Together?! What if someone sees us and starts a rumor?! Do you want me to get killed!?" I said to him in a panic! "Don't be so overdramatic! We are not doing anything wrong I'm just helping you with your project and not doing anything indecent! Don't mind them if they gossip about you since it's not true anyway?" Ugh! Easy for him to say since he is not the one going to get killed by his fangirls!

"I object! We should just meet here in the library." It's much safer here for me! I said internally, I didn't say it out loud since he will just say that I'm paranoid again! "Alright, fine! Let's just meet here in the library if that's what you want!" He sighed and grudgingly agreed to my request. I heaved a sigh of relief after making him agree. I thought he will still be stubborn about it and insist that we should just go to his apartment. Of course, I won't go down without a fight! For the sake of peaceful school life, I need to make sure no one finds out about this.

"All right, now that we have discussed the place, how often do we meet? Does twice a week fine with you? Because we can't meet every day after class since we are from different departments and we have tons of assignments, reports, and stuff... How about we just meet during weekends? Or are you busy on the weekends?" I told him. I was nervous I was blabbering nonstop. I don't know why every time I'm with him, I always get nervous.

"We can meet every day, it's fine with me. I can also do my assignments and stuff together with you. You know I'm smart enough to handle my workload and yours, right? It's not like this is the first time." He said while smiling innocently at me. This guy! Has a venomous tongue! "Yeah, not the first time the all-mighty Xu Minghao helped me with my school work!" I smiled stiffly at him and couldn't control the sarcasm in my voice. "Good to hear! At least you are aware that you need my help!" He laughed a little bit when he said that. This guy! He can be annoying when he wants to be.

To avoid getting my blood pressure from going up, I continued to translate the novel on my laptop. After a few hours, I started feeling hungry. I forgot to eat lunch earlier when I left my dorm room. "Jiejie, I'm hungry. Let's go out to eat. You can continue doing your manuscript tomorrow. I remember you said that you will throw me a welcome party? How about we eat grilled meat and have a drink as well?" He was smiling mischievously at me. Uh-oh! I can feel that my wallet is in danger!

"How about I treat you on Saturday? Since it's on a weekend, we can drink till you drop?" I said to him. "Aiya? The way you say it, it's like you're cursing me to puke my guts out from drinking? No?" Here it is again! His chilling smile! Better be careful with what I say or I might wake up the savage Minghao or also known as Thughao by his friends! I won't be able to survive that if it happens!

"What are you talking about? I'm not cursing you or anything! What I meant was, I will treat you to anything you want on that day!" His smile widened at what I said. "Really? Anything I want? Then let's meet at XX Market at around 4 pm? We can buy food and drinks there." Really… His smile is making me nervous. I think I just said something that doomed me on that day! I just laughed nervously while I turn off my laptop and put in inside my bag.
