Want me to teach you? (11)

I was grumbling internally when we entered his apartment.  I directly went up to him to take the food that we bought and I started washing the ingredients.   When I was about to start cutting the vegetables, I can see he was standing nearby and it made me self conscious. 

          "What are you standing around for?  Just go sit there and wait for me to finish.  Just watch a movie on your laptop or something."  I shooed him away. I might get into an accident if he kept staring at me while cutting the ingredients!  

          He just smiled and even leaned on the wall near me while crossing his arms.  "Jiejie, I can help you, you know? You just need to ask nicely and I will cut those vegetables for you."  He said while still smiling.

          I huffed and looked at him.  "No thanks! I can handle this bit of cooking.  If you want something to do, then remove the pajeon from the packaging and transfer it on a plate.  And for the beer and soju, can you put it inside the fridge for them to cool? I want my drinks cold, thank you."  I ordered him instead of accepting his offer.

          After cooking the dishes, I serve it for him and scooped him a bowl of rice.  Then I proceed to get a bottle of beer from the fridge and got me a glass and put some ice on it.  After getting everything, I poured the beer in my glass and gulped it in one go. I just love drinking ice-cold beer right after all the hard work.

          "Jiejie, eat some food first before drinking.   You might get a stomachache if you drink without eating anything."  He said seriously and tried to grab my glass.  

          I avoided his hand and raise my glass away from his reach.  "I don't eat anything if I'm going to drink. If needed I just eat some side dishes and nothing heavy or I'm going to puke my guts out later.  And don't give me that look I've been doing this ever since I puke my guts out when I ate and then drink on one of our department's gatherings.  So I pretty much know my body so I'll be fine." I stubbornly told him and even stared him squarely in the eyes.

          His face was serious and we ended up having a staring contest!  I couldn't blink… No! I shouldn't blink or I would lose! I stared fiercely him and he did the same.  I could feel my eyes stinging and tears are forming! Still being the stubborn girl that I am, I didn't care if tears fell from my eyes.  When the tears actually fell from my eyes I can see his eyes widen and started to panic.

          He reached out his hand gently and wiped the tear that fell and suddenly he went in for a hug!  I was so shocked my mind went blank! What the heck is happening here! I felt flustered and starting to feel butterflies in my stomach and happy that he hugged me but I know I shouldn't think that there's more to this.  I know that he thought I was crying and just trying to comfort me.

          Even though I have this urge to hug him back, I tried to control myself and just tap his shoulder lightly.  "Hey, what are you doing? My eyes hurt from the staring contest so I can't help tears forming from my eyes.  I'm not really crying so you don't have to comfort me okay?" I told him nonchalantly.

          I could feel that he's hugging me tighter now.  I don't know why but I felt my heart squeezed a bit and I really want to cry for real.  But I just shrugged off that feeling. I just laugh and gently pulled away and even ruffled his soft and fluffy hair.  I smiled at him and made him eat his food.

          "Go on and eat.  Food won't taste good if it's gone cold."  I said then pushed the food towards him and watched him eat.  He took a bite and then looked at me. With a determined look, he picked up a piece of meat and lettuce and made rice wrap then pushed it towards my mouth.

          "Here eat this it's good.  Now, say ah~." He said while wearing that sweet, cute smile of his.  In a dazed, I subconsciously opened my mouth and ate it. Forgetting my beer in the process.  He smiled even more and I could feel my heart being pierced by cupid's arrow a couple more times!  I admit defeat! I can't win against his cute and dazzling smile.  

          "I'm done eating so let me get the drinks from the fridge."  He said. I was a little startled. I looked at the food and could see that he had already finished his bowl of rice.  I was so mesmerized by his smile that I didn't realize that while he was eating he was also feeding me in the process! His smile was so hypnotizing that I didn't realize that I succumbed to temptation!  I was so embarrassed I started clearing the dishes that were finished and about to start cleaning the bowls and plates.

          "Just leave the dishes in the sink I'll clean it up later.  Sit down and let continue with the party!" He said. He pulled me to sit down on the floor and put the beers on the table.  He opened one can for himself and then opened a new one for me when he noticed that the one that I opened earlier was already empty.

          We continue drinking in silence.  I was embarrassed to look at him and I can feel that he has been looking at me.  After a couple of cans, we still haven't said a word. I can't think of any topic to talk about so I just stared at my glass.

          He was also silent and occasionally glance at me.  His eyes cast down deep in thought. I don't know when but we had already consumed the 12 cans of beer that we bought.  Still, not enough I want to buy some more, but thinking of the place where I'm at, I know it's not proper for a girl to stick around a guy's place especially if he is not her boyfriend.
