Ch18 : Blue But Black

These days were the most chaotic days I ever been through it consisted of me trying to prevent the enforcers from taking her to blue while she was still weak and to prevent her from knowing the fact that we were caught already and she must go back. But at the end she had to know.

"I don't think I can attend the trial, I don't know what to feel" She said reaching out for my hand. "He is your father if you don't attend you might regret that decision for the rest of your life" I sat right next to her on the hospital bed.

"After all he did to you?"

"I might be angry but I understand that what he did was just his way of protecting you, even if he expressed those feeling a little bit violently" I smiled. "We need to go, love."

The day of the trial we were ready she was healthy enough to go alone but I knew I had to go. Everything was grand there. Never occurred to me I will enter the court as a missing person not the lawyer I wanted to be. They trailed all the crimes he committed in the last five years. The last crime was the attempted murder of OLDRICK INDIGO BLUE.

Leila looked at me with tears in her eyes. I now understand why she didn't want to come her father was going to be red immediately if I don't step in or do anything.

"But I am here your honour." I said without thinking. Everyone in the court stood still and looked at me.

"What do you mean young man over there?" The judged looked directly at me.

"My Blue name is Oldrick Indigo Blue, your honour." I said "I am perfectly healthy and alive"

"You Filthy red, you did this, you did this, you fooled me, I did not, you did this" her father started a rage fit.

"SILENCE" The judge declared in a strict manner. "I would like to know, why you didn't come when the investigation was open." He asked me.

"I am not a blue Citizen anymore, your honour. I was living in green for the past year and I came after I heard of what had happened." I approached the judge with both my blue and green papers.

"I see but how did you know about the trial?" He asked.

"Miss. Leila came and found me in green. She told me everything then, your honour." I hoped that will be enough explanation.

"I see, you may have a seat young man"

"After taking into consideration the new evidence that just appeared and after they were proved to be correct on the system we have decided that Cole Zander Black will only have to pay the necessary fines to repay for all his mentioned crimes. He will be dismissed from the task force and will live what remains of his life as a yellow citizen." The Judge ended the trial and her father was being deported to Yellow city.

"Father, how are you doing?" Leila approached him.

"What the hell is that creature doing next to you, you went to ask for help from a red" I see that not much have changed since my last visit to blue I thought to myself.

"He just saved your life, what are you doing?" She said with tears falling from her eyes as she grabbed my hand. Showing him the ring "I will marry him and you will have to accept that fact, what you did was wrong you hurt me and him, I almost died and he saved me. How dare you say such words?" she took my hand and went out of the courtroom.

We both were about to leave when we heard a crashing sound in front of the court. I turned my back to see her father holding a gun and a guard was thrown onto the ground.

"My daughter wont marry a filthy rouge NEVER" as he shot the gun, Leila turned around her face was right in front of mine "I am Sorry" as she fell to the ground immediately.

A shiver, a scream, sudden silence. Everything suddenly disappeared it was him crying as the guards arrested him and I am looking at her body in my own hands, I cannot let go. Reminded with six year old me. Peaceful, she was peaceful. But not again, not her. I won't be able to endure such loss once again.
