Bam!

"What's that?"

Xiao Yao was awakened from his light slumber when he heard a light falling sound not so far away from where he was.

Looking around, he found out that the person in charge of looking out had fallen asleep.

Seeing such a person sleep so peacefully after a near-death experience almost made Xiao Yao want to murder someone.

He really couldn't trust other people with his life.

He is surrounded by a bunch of stupid people, who could he trust his life with but himself.

Following the source of the sound, Xiao Yao did not find any trace of a person or an object that could cause such sound.

Thinking that it was nothing, Xiao Yao turned back but did not expect someone to push him onto the ground.

"Look out!"

It was so sudden that he did not even have the time to think and he was immediately pushed to the ground by an unknown man.

By the time he regained his senses, he sensed danger around him.

Hissss~

'What's making that sound?'

Hisssssss~

'It's not probably what I'm thinking about, right?"

Hissssss!

Feeling the other party attacking, Xiao Yao quickly rolled away along with the strange man on the other side of the ground.

Xiao Yao quickly looked at the previous spot where he was moments ago and found a very mystical yet colorful snake.

By saying that it was colorful, Xiao Yao meant that the snake had an odd stripe color.

Each stripe was of a different color than the other.

The snake was as long as an adult man's arm and had a peculiar horn on its forehead.

Hissss!

Even though the target escaped, the snake still did not give up and gave chased to the two of them.

Like a bow being pulled taut, the snake flew towards them like a released arrow.

Having no time to push the seemingly unconscious man away from him, Xiao Yao could only use his hand and catch the sly snake.

Using his inhuman speed and observation, the snake was of no match to him and was caught by its head.

With just a little twist, the snake drops dead.

"Hey, are you alright?"

Pushing the man off him, Xiao Yao noticed that the man was really handsome.

He could be on par with the male lead and second male lead if he were to put them side by side.

No, he is more handsome than both of them combined!

"Hmm.." The strange man groaned.

"Hey. Hey! Are you dead?"

Xiao Yao slap the man twice or thrice or many times in the face but he did not get any response from him.

It was really strange.

A moment ago the man was still talking to him, why did he suddenly fall into a coma?

Searching his body, Xiao Yao found out that he had a small wound on his neck. It was two small wounds, like a snake bite.

"This guy has a fever. So high. Won't his brain get fried?"

Xiao Yao looked at the strange man again. He was thinking if he should help him or not.

"Sigh. Since he saved me then I should not be ungrateful, though I don't really need his help. Alright, I'll consider you a good person for now."

Lifting the man up with both of his hands, Xiao Yao walked back to the camp.

"Xiao Yao, where did you just go?"

Chen Qiao who woke up to relieve himself found out that Xiao Yao was missing and quickly looked for him to see if he was in any danger.

But what he saw instead was Xiao Yao carrying an unknown man in his arms walking back to the camp from out of nowhere.

"Who is he?"

"Guess who?" Xiao Yao said still having the time to joke around.

"I don't know. Anyway, do you know him?" Chen Qiao asked again and studied the man in Xiao Yao's arms.

"Maybe... not."

Xiao Yao said while helping the man down on the makeshift bed made out of his long coat and bag as a pillow.

"What? You take a stranger here! What if he's a bad man?!" Chen Qiao said with disbelief.

"Then, what should I have done? Leave him in the wilderness to get eaten by some unknown beast?" Xiao Yao looked at Chen Qiao seriously.

"That is not what I mean. It's just that we need to be careful. What if he is not a good person?"

"Chen Qiao, you are overly imaginative. Yes, we are in a dangerous position because of those bandits but we should not suspect others too. I believe he is a good guy. He saved me earlier. He is not a bad person."

"What? Saved you? What happened?"

"Just some snake about to bite me. If not for him, I would have been dead."

Xiao Yao then threw the dead snake in front of Chen Qiao which almost made Chen Qiao jump from fright seeing a snake flying towards him out of nowhere.

"Xiao Yao!" Chen Qiao screamed Xiao Yao's name in fright and half anger.

"What are you so scared about? Scaredy cat." Xiao Yao joked.

"Y-You....!"

"What are the both of you quarreling about in the middle of the night?"

The old bandit who seemed to have been awakened by Chen Qiao's girlish scream suddenly showed up behind the two of them like a ghost scaring the soul out of Chen Qiao, again.

"Old man." Xiao Yao greeted acknowledging the old bandit.

"Whose that man?"

Noticing a stranger lying on the ground, the old bandit looked at Xiao Yao for an explanation.

"A friend."

"A friend?" The old man asked again.

"Yep. He saved me earlier so he is a friend."

Hearing Xiao Yao's hint, the old man just nodded his head and looked the strange man over.

"Will he bring trouble?"

The old man's eyes became as sharp as a blade as if wanting to pierce the strange man's body to pieces.

"I don't think so. Don't worry old man, I won't let him trouble you. Even if he might do so, I'll beat him before he does something serious."

"Glad you know."

Saying so, the old man then left and took a rest for the next day.

"Xiao Yao, what are you gonna do about him? He seemed to be injured." Chen Qiao finally asked when the old man left.

"No worries, he just got poisoned."

"P-Poisoned?! Isn't that bad!" Chen Qiao stuttered.

"You act as if you care about him. Anyways, he was poisoned for five hours now. He is quite lucky that the poison did not claim his life right away. What a lucky man."

Xiao Yao then took the snake to the ground and proceed to take out its sac and fed it to the strange man.

If not for the system, he would have not known what antidote to give this stranger.

Luckily, the system knows what thing poisoned him and even knows the antidote.

The thing that poisoned him was the snake that almost bit him.

The snake was called the Horned snake, some legendary snake that only exists in legends.

The horned snake's name was derived from its appearance, a snake having a horn on its head.

It was said that if one were to be bitten by the horned snake, they would quickly die without even having the chance to yell for help.

He was truly lucky that he did not die quickly, if it were others they would have been dead long ago.

[Host, were you smitten by his good looks?] Xiao Xiao suddenly said which almost scared the hell out of Xiao Yao.

In all the world, all the danger he had to experience, there is only one person that could scare the hell out of him, and that is his System!

'Do you think that I'm that thirsty? Smitten my ass! I just think that this man is a real mystery for appearing here.'

[Really?] Xiao Xiao asked doubtful.

'Really. So, you got any information about him?'

[Host, is good. I got something but only a little since the plot was gone.]

'More or less at least you got some information. Tell me, what is it?'

[Host, he is the mysterious person in this story.]

'Mysterious person? That's new. A mysterious person that could rival the lead's halo and have the same luck. I got to have this person on my side!'

[Host, you are drooling.]

'I must have him. Having him beside me, those leads would have one less golden finger. And the mysterious person is the most powerful one of that. He might just be the key for this story to have a perfect ending.'
