Bee

We made our way inside the house from the back garden and I gave him directions to my bedroom. Siara was focused on Miraj the entire time we were walking.

"Hey! I know you. You are the scary guy", she exclaimed after staring at his face for a few minutes.

"I am sorry. Please don't mind whatever she is saying. She is not in her right mind", I said, just in case he got offended. That wouldn't be good.

He replied without looking at me, "Yeah, I know. I am the one holding her."

Well, I didn't need a reminder for that.

"What?", he said.

Shit. Did I say that out loud?

"Yeah, you did."

"I said that aloud too. Great, I now think out loud whenever I am drunk."

"Just tell me left or right from here, Eli", he said when we had just entered the corridor near my room.

We were ignoring Siara's drunk talk in the background of our conversation.

"Right", I said just as Siara poked his nose with her left index finger and said, "boop"

"Boop.. Boop.."

"Siara, stop", I said as I held onto her left hand. I was trying to so hard to control my laughter. I looked at Miraj and saw him smiling. He was cute.

"Which room, Eli?"

"That one", I pointed to my room.

We entered my room and Miraj put Siara down on the bed. I coaxed her to close her eyes and rest. She passed out in under a minute.

I said to Miraj, "Thanks for helping."

"No problem. I am a gentleman, remember?"

I chuckled at that. Because he really was nicer than I expected a cold-blooded killer to be. I mean, he had to be the worst kind of man to do what he had done. Then I remembered once again all the things he had done. That's when I realized I was alone with him in my room, with my best friend unconscious on my bed. He could kill me before I could even think about screaming.

He had no reason to kill me but he had the opportunity if he wanted it. I felt cold all of a sudden and tried to be as alert of his actions as possible.

I just had to be stupid enough to land myself in this position. I couldn't stop cursing his fucking beautiful forearms that distracted me from thinking about this earlier...

I slowly moved towards the coffee table with high back chairs near the window. There was a flower vase that I could use as a weapon.

"Let's sit for a while. I am a bit dizzy", I said to stall him.

I moved towards the chairs as I thought that people had seen us talking. I don't know how many of them saw us coming inside but he would be a definite suspect if something happened. We had cameras in the house, he couldn't escape the accusation so, will he kill us?

"No, I think I should go. You seem to be in need of rest. I wasn't planning on sticking around this long."

Oh. That put a full stop to my murder fantasies. He was leaving. But I still stood near the coffee table because precaution is better and all... I am never having martinis in his presence again. I don't even know if I will ever be in his presence again.

He came closer and I moved closer to the coffee table as I replied to what he had said, "Okay, um.. I'll see you later."

"Yes, I'll see you later, Bee", he said as he came within a couple inches of me.

I was backed up against the coffee table and I extended my hand behind me to pick-up the vase when I heard him say.. bee? Did he just call me Bee? I didn't pause my hand extending towards the vase as I gave him a puzzled look.

He smiled and bent down towards me. Before I could register what was happening, his arms went around my waist and he pulled me towards him. I pushed him by reflex but then his lips landed on mine.

He kissed my lips slowly at first and then he bit my lower lip to pry open my mouth. The pain from the bite helped me get back my senses and I finally understood what the fuck was happening. Then I gave into the kiss. I put my arms around his neck and tilted my head to the right. I was on my tip-toes, even in my four-inch heels and he put one of his palms at the back of my neck to direct the kiss.

We were barely a minute into the kiss when, all of a sudden, he pulled back his lips and let me go from his arms. I would have fallen as I lost my balance but he held me by the shoulder. He still kept himself at an arm's length, though. He let me go as soon as I was stable and I failed to understand, once again, what happened. This guy was giving me a head-trip, one that I wasn't sure I was enjoying.

He pursed his lips once and then said, "I recently broke up with my fiancee. I shouldn't have done that. I am sorry."

He left the room the moment he was finished.
