Planning

I made my way to Miraj's study after taking a shower. I had changed from my pantsuit to casual jeans and t-shirt. I knocked twice and soon the door opened. Miraj was wearing a pure black three-piece suit with a royal blue tie. He did that a lot, wear a dash of bright colour on completely black clothes. When he was sans tie... it would be a pocket kerchief. It suited him.

"Come in. We have a lot to discuss."

I walked in and sat on one of the chairs in front of his desk. He made his way around me and sat on the chair on the other side. His study was similar to mine with a difference in color theme. He had darker tones in his office. The furniture wasn't excessive but just enough. One big mahogany desk with a huge comfortable chair behind it and two guest chairs, one sofa with two side chairs and a table, and one huge shelf for books and files was all the furniture that was there. Any sort of decoration was missing from both our offices at home. I didn't like clutter in my work-space but I didn't know about him.

Miraj sat on the chair behind the desk as he opened the files on top of it. He looked through them for a bit and when he had found what he was looking for, he turned the file and gave it to me. The file was about the illegal business dealings of the Moretti family. I had similar research with me in my study and was aware of most of them. Moretti's made majority money from pushing drugs on the streets and illegal gambling. They owned a few night clubs and restaurants, as a front for the money, in the cities in which their branches were strong. What Miraj wanted me to see was the heart of the Moretti finances, Downtown Casino.

Like its name suggested, it was a casino in downtown Tamba. The reason it wasn't given an official name was to keep its existence a secret from the ignorant common folks. In the end, the regular public of the casino just called it by a vague name. The specialty of this casino was that it was located in one of the worst parts of town that was secluded from the city but its clientele was exclusively rich. People came from all over the country to play there. High rollers enjoyed playing with other high rollers and that is what they got at Downtown Casino, along with all sots of pleasures known to man. The entire casino was underground and built like a mini mall with multiple services for its customers ranging from massages to hookers. In official entries, there was no mention of it.

The police obviously knew about the farce but majority of them were on the mafia's payroll so any raid planned would be useless since all evidence of illegal business would be removed from the premises by the time they got there. The most they would be able t charge the Morettis for was an unregistered business. We wouldn't snitch anyway because that's what cowards do. If you are a part of the underworld, the worst thing you could do is snitch.

We were going to war with the Moretti's and war was expensive. If we cut off their finances slowly then eventually it wouldn't be tough to bring them down. What better place to start than their biggest casino?

"Good choice for the first attack but what is your estimated attack date?"

"Exactly a month from now."

"Good. We'll have to keep this tight and make sure it doesn't leak."

"Yes, our men who will work on this, won't know the site or the date till the last minute."

"Okay. What after this one then?"

"They have a shipment of cocaine coming in from Casablanca three days after the planned date for Downtown Casino attack. We could intercept it."

"Better yet, let's plan five continuous attacks on different fronts with a space of 24 hours between each attack. With back-to-back attacks, they will be stretched too thin to counterattack."

"It will be a lot of work to plan five major attacks in a month."

"I can take leave from the office. Siara can handle it. There's one important meeting next week but apart from that, there's nothing major this month. I can supervise them all and we have more than enough men at our disposal."

"Okay."
