Welcome Home

Three days after my phone call with Miraj, me and Ari we're flying to London. We usually preferred our private jet or helicopter for safety reasons but since this was to be a secret we were flying commercial.

I had to go through a longer check because of criminal suspicion but never proven charges, comes with being a syndicate family member. But we eventually made it.

Since Luke knew about my surprise trip, he helped with finding out Miraj's schedule without any doubts being cast and we made our way home. My business meeting wasn't for another day so I had time to spend today with my family.

As we reached our London residence, it was lunch time and by the time we freshened up and rested a bit it was 5pm. Almost time for Miraj to come home.

Miraj's POV

I was tired. Just needed a glass of whiskey now and my bed. As the car approached the house, I saw there were more lights on than usual. I didn't care much about the lights but I cared about the reason. You could never be too careful.

Once the driver dropped me at the entrance, he rounded around the central garden to go park the car. I had my hand on my glock near my waist when the door opened. It was the maid, smiling at me? What why..

She said, "Welcome home, Sir."

She said that everyday but she never smiled at me. She was always so scared of me she wouldn't even look me in the eyes half the time.

I started climbing the stairs towards my room even though my instincts were screaming something was different today. I wanted to go look around every nook and cranny of the house.

I stopped the minute I heard it. The noise of something heavy hitting the floor. It came from the room downstairs and I turned to look at the maid.

She was surprised but not at the noise. But more like "getting caught" kind of surprise. I made my way there and she tried to stop me.

"Um sir.."

I lifted an eyebrow at her and glared, waiting for an explanation. She backed off.

I approached the double doors of the room and pushed. It was locked. What the fuck was happening? It didn't feel like an ambush at my home but still what the fuck were these people upto?

I removed my block and fired at the lock and I swear the maid screamed louder than the sound of the bullet. I turned to see her scared face and smiled as I kicked at the door. I didn't care much at this point.

What I didn't expect was to see balloons in there.

I was literally just as surprised as the people in the room. Which were mostly servants and smack in the middle of them was my wife holding onto a half inflated balloon. I heard tiny feet moving in the room and immediately hid my glock in my pants as Ari came out of the crowd.

"Welcome Home Dada"

My son ran upto me with a pink and a blue balloon and in his hands and I picked him up. That was when I realised he really was here. I wasn't going crazy. My wife and child were in a room full of colourful balloons and I wasn't hallucinating. I just laughed into Ari's neck.
