Her Highness

She opened her eyes and greeted the new day with a smile. After being woke up by her alarm that was snoozed for the nth time, and having her roommates ranting again because her alarm made them wide awake first thing in the morning, she quickly got ready for the day.

For the past few days, all Ezereath did was going to her classes, to the hall, to their dorms or stay in the library. Yup, that's how boring her life as first year these days.

'It's better to be in my muggle school before. The schools have playgrounds with swings and slides and a playroom with toys and television for us to watch films. And have computer rooms that I often tinker with magic for a bit for me to access non-muggle sites', is what she occasionally think.

Although she also messes with her classmates before from time to time using magic when she gets bored but that is another story.

Her classes were different from her muggle school because magic is the focus here, which is not present to the non-magic folks, obviously. The lessons consists of things she learned already from her mother and books from the library, which, she already almost finished the row of books in the second shelf of the first shelves of books out of boredom in the first month of her stay.

But even if some lessons were boring, she still attends them because of few reasons. First, the house points might be affected. Second, what will she do if she is not in classes? Third, the feeling of missing a class bugs her. And lastly, she wants to have more friends and meet with her newly- found ones.

The thing is, they're classmates.

With Vale, Miya and Corvan. The ones she was with in the Hogwarts Express.

Well of course, they are both in first year so they are classmates despite the difference in houses. And this is one of the few moments they can get together because of their different houses.

They are not like the trio Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger who were from the same house. They're too lucky to have most of their friends in Gryffindor.

'Rea, please be reminded that we are not in the muggle world where your school changes your classmates per year based on your academic results.' she mentally told herself.

Walking towards the field, she saw a lot of booths and group of students of different years and houses. The field that usually have only a few students roaming around is now being crowded.

There are no classes for this week because of recruitments for the different teams and factions. The teams are getting ready for this end-of-semester's battle. Others are just planning to join other teams that are laidback for now and just get ready next semester for the yearly battle of factions.

The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry also had changes in their curriculum for the past few years. Not just competition between houses, there are also small competitions between teams and large ones depending on the situation. Teams are being created for semi-annually held battle that would bring the members resources and privileges. Those that are not included in neither of the two are also given resources but there are more advantages given to those who participates.

Although the first years became sort of an experimental batch for the new techie sorting hat, the wizarding world, or even Hogwarts, already tried to have a few muggle technology in our society after the events that happened years ago which involves Voldemort. Not sure if they overcame the problem about the repulsion of magic and technology.

Seeing the group of freshmen on a table that looks familiar, Ezereath crept towards them, not forgetting to chant on herself a spell to keep them discovering her.

"Which faction would you guys choose?" a head suddenly popped out and scared the group.

"WAH-"

"AHH-"

"Rea, stop appearing out of the blue and scare the hell out of us!"

"Sorry, sorry"

"For some time, I really think she belongs to either Gryffindor with her courage of not always thinking the consequences of what she's doing and Slytherin for her slyness" Fixing his curly hair, Sherlock with his 'I am an intellectual' gaze looked at the person who just arrived.

'Gah! Sherlock is really Sherlock... cheeky brat, hmph!'

"Then ask the sorting hat why did he sorted me in Ravenclaw and make him sort me again. I always wondered if he indeed sorted me wrongly. Ah I'll have that flower-shaped cookie" she retorted and grabbed the cookie on the table.

"Or maybe there's something in you that you haven't discovered yet that makes you a Ravenclaw?"

"I'd better believe the part of the Sorting Hat getting awry. Remember the topic of the article from the 37th page of 3rd book from the left on the 2nd shelf from the top of the first shelves of books in the library? The topic on how technology seems to reject magic and vice versa? Like how the wizards tried to merge magic with technology but always failed? Indeed there are muggle techs that can be casted with magic from time to time but having technology being a necessity to our lives like the muggles is difficult not until today. I even wondered how they merged the sorting hat with it. Did they create a program just how muggles do with their applications? Or they just casted a spell to the sorting hat to connect with the techie chair and do its job from somewhere without it being on the head of the student?"

"Ah... the rare moments when her 'Ravenclawness' appears" Elfre smiled towards Ezereath who is still deep in her thoughts.

"Huh?"

"And then suddenly her 'Hufflepuff' personality emerges" Vale added.

"What are you talking about? Vale?!" Ezereath stood up and tried to slap Vale who is now running for his life.

"And then her 'Griffindor' self is now trying to beat the grandchild of 'the-boy-who-lived' out of his living daylights" Ophiucus commented while sipping his drink.

"I HEARD YOU OPHIUCUS!!! JUST WAIT UNTIL I FINISH WITH THIS JERK COZ YOU'RE NEXT!!!"

"Ophiucus, don't you have to hide from her for awhile?" A worried Mavis kept on shifting her gaze from the back of Ezereath, who is now catching up with Vale, and Ophiucus.

"Nah, I can still leave before she'll be back---" He cannot finish his sentence when he felt his brain sending some signals saying that he's in danger.

"MS. SCARLET- HUNTER! NO RUNNING ON THE CORRIDORS!" a professor called Ezereath who now grabbed the back of Vale's collar.

"Ah!"

"Doesn't she belong to the Gryffindor? She's similar to u-ouch! Neeka?! Why did you pinched me?!" Aeron exclaimed, but he saw the weird atmosphere of the group.

Aeron looked at his sister with a questioning look, and he ended up having the answer by Aneeka pointing at his back. He looked back and saw Ezereath smiling at him, with Vale being dragged on her right hand and Ophiucus following her, who was the recipient of the chilling gaze of his cousin Corvan. And the reason why his alarm went off awhile ago.

"Aeron, have you forgotten about this? Your a - llo - wa - nce?" and she is now juggling on her left hand a wallet that is not obviously hers.

"Here it is! Her Highness' 'Slytherin' version!" Aeron looked back to the group and tried to whisper, but it unintentionally became not a whisper and was heard by the very person he's referring to, which ended up her grinning widely.

"Uh... can I take back what I said?"
