I woke up to the cruel beeping of my alarm clock. The bright red numbers 6:00 flashed across the clocks screen. I reach out to shut off the alarm and slowly got ready for the day ahead of me. I packed my bag with my mom butcher's knife and covered it up with snacks and foods for Shunichi. A butcher's knife for a pig like Yamauchi. I put on a black rain jacket and grabbed a red rag from my closet. I left my house with my umbrella and novel in hand. I painstakingly walked to Shunichi's house in the dim sunlight that passed through the clouds.
"It's going to rain tonight" I thought to myself
I read my novel to pass the time. Once I reached Shun's street, I hid around a small, old shack. From here, I could see Shun's house and roughly where Yamauchi's house was. I sat there and read my novel, looking up whenever I heard someone walking down the street. Finally, I saw Yamauchi exit the space between two houses. He was so enormous that he barely fit in the alley between the two buildings. So that's where he lives. I saw him waddle his was to Shun's house. He furiously knocked on his door. Every part of me wanted to stand up and tell him off, but if he sees me the mission is over. I carefully watched Yamauchi threaten Shun for the cash, which Shunichi hands over after five seconds of conversation. I sprinted to Shunichi's house after I made sure Yamauchi turned the corner, making sure I couldn't be seen. I hung out at Shun's house for most of that rainy day. I made sure to give him the food from my bag without exposing the knife. I watched him gleefully stuff his face while I put the extra food in the kitchen cupboards. Me and Shun talked for hours. I had fun for the first time in a long time. We played games and hung out in his house that entire day. We planned out how he'd get this lunch for the next few days, little did he know he wouldn't need this plan. By around 6 pm at night, I told Shun I needed to leave. I gave him my sorrowful goodbye and left to return to my hiding spot across the street. I sat there silently, waiting for the cover of night to drop. Waiting for the perfect time to strike.
