Chapter 1 : Born to Be A Star (1)

"Cut", the voice of a middle-aged man roared in the middle of dark alley.

Tang Wei who was punching a muscular man under her stopped midway and her killing aura blown away through the biting cold weather as soon as the word was pronounced.

Long Fei, Tang Wei's manager, rushed to Tang Wei's side to cover her with a thick jacket. She also handed a cup of hot water for Tang Wei to warm up.

"Wei wei, let's go back to the van. Look at your lips, they trembled a lot."

This year's winter was reported to be the coldest winter in the history. No matter how many layers of cloth that covered over you, they didn't guarantee to warm you up. Much less Tang Wei who was only wearing a thin black shirt, paired with a black skinny jeans.

"Look at yourself, you could have put on warmer clothes but you insisted on wearing so thin"

Long Fei complained as she rubbed her hands to warm Tang Wei's body. Looking at how concern Long Fei was, Tang Wei smiled brightly which made her eyes into one thin line.

Before they started shooting, the director had suggested Tang Wei to put on a black jacket leather, but Tang Wei refused because it would cover up the pathetic and helpless condition of the character that she played.

Xiao Shi, the character she played, was a gangster member who tried to freed herself from the black world life. The scene that was taken was the scene when Xiao Shi came across with the gangster's enemy when she was on the run from the gang she was in.

"Let's go, let's go.. or you will freeze to death", Long Fei pushed her to the direction where their van was.

Getting into the van, Long Fei immediately turned the heater on. Then without wasting any longer, she drove the van away to the Riverside Apartment, the elite apartment where only A-listed artists or elite individual would live. Not only because of the high - price,Riverside apartment would check the buyer's background beforehand because they would like to provide a peace living environment.

Although Tang Wei was only a third grade actress, she was able to live in the Riverside Apartment as her family background was not someone who would dare to offend. Tang Wei's father, Tang Chen, was the chairman of Tang Group, a giant company which produced high-end beauty products. The apartment that she was living in, together with Long Fei, was her 17th birthday present from her father.

The year she admitted to the B University, she reasoned to her father that she would like to move out as the apartment was nearer to the university. However, only she knew the real reason for why she moved out. Since then, she had never once gone home as she soon casted as a supporting actress in a film which caused Father Tang cut the father-and-daughter ties.

Tang Wei rushed to take a warm bath as soon as they arrived home while Long Fei rushed to prepare a cup of hot milk for Tang Wei. After those warming rituals, Tang Wei felt a lot warmer. She then took a business book to study because there would be a test the next day.

"Wei wei, Madam called to tell that Master is hospitalized.", Long Fei reported the news as she walked to the white leather sofa where Tang Wei sat on. Long Fei knew the relationship between the father and daughter thus she spoke cautiously. Truthfully said, Long Fei was stuck in the middle between the father and daughter. On one hand, Tang Wei was her best friend while on the others, Father Tang was her benefactor. If not for Father Tang's kindness, she might have been sent to the orphanage when her father, the previous personal assistant of Father Tang, died 18 years ago.

"It's been four years. Can't you let by gone be by gone? After all, master has always loved you.", Long Fei tried to persuade.

There was no reply after a long silence. Long Fei sighed helplessly as she didn't know what she should do to help the father-and-daughter relationship improved. She thought that this time would be like usual when she would get no answer as long as their topic was about Tang Family, but then she heard the very soft reply. She might think it was her hallucination if not the other person turned her head to look at her solemnly.

"I might anger him to death."

"Help me to visit him tomorrow"

Tang Wei knew that deep down in her father's heart, he still loved her. Perhaps, she might say that she was his father's only hope. However, she couldn't deny that she was disappointed. She couldn't understand why would her father marry the woman who was living as Madam Tang if the one that he actually loved was her mother. After all, why did he hide this matter from her for 17 years?

If she didn't find it out accidentally four years ago that the woman that she had called mother since she was child was actually fox in sheepclothing, she probably wouldn't be so persistent to appear cold-hearted toward her father. She might obediently give up her dream to be an actress and came back to Tang mansion. However, it was only 'if'.
