In my opinion, talent is a crutch. Used by people who, like me, don't find themselves to be good at anything in particular. We're OK, we're not bad, but we just don't have any "talent" in anything and will forever remain at the bottom because we don't have the "talent" needed. We use it to explain away why some people are really good at things. We'll never really know, right?
That one kid who's so talented with the violin, he's been playing for only a year and yet he's mastered the basics, the intermediate, and expert level songs. It must be his talent, but what they don't know is that that kid spent every night playing violin until his fingers bled, spent all day memorizing the lyrics until he couldn't even get them out of his head. Talent is a crutch for the average, an excuse to explain away why we aren't magnificent as well. Fact is, we just don't have the drive.
What force pushes someone to their limits just master something that probably warning affect the lives in a major way. What makes someone so determined inside to rush after a goal for others seems impossible. It pushes them to the breaking point and even past it to the point of forsaking flesh, blood, and limb just get to that peak they are grasping out for.
I've never been the "talented" person so I cannot understand what pushes these people so far. I wish I could understand what's going through their head what huling pulse just the let that gives such a drive. For now I'll probably just have to seek it myself seek that edge that they're all climbing towards. There's no other way to grasp it no other way to comprehend what they are feeling.
Will seek our own peak atop this grand mountain life but how many of us settle for the foundation. How many more will settle for the foundation. So many plateaus lay above us waiting for someone to step upon the ground. These people, at talent people who push forward will be the ones to set foot upon this path inevitably fall upon it. At least they walked upon this path of life, of struggle, of defiance towards the will of the world.
Expanding our world view, they say it's lonely at the top. Maybe it is, one day we might know. I think when we get there though it will not be lonely, for everyone will finally stand atop this grand mountain together.
