Medicine is Art

Lingling walked back to the Lord's room when she was stopped by Ming.

"Miss. Ling, can I ask you for a favor?" She looked at Ming and nodded.

"Thank you so much. Our Lord woke up yesterday and had a temper. He hasn't eaten anything since yesterday. Everyone was afraid to get killed. Can you do me a favor and bring the food in there? Maybe he will relax when he hears your voice." Lingling took the food tray and went into the room. Ming and the other servants were hiding behind the door and peeking in.

Lord Weijun was sitting on the bed with his eyes opened. He was in darkness for a long time. Even for a mere mortal, being blind is like staying in a dark room with nowhere to exit, let alone an immortal. He must've struggled a lot.

She got closer to Lord Weijun and sat beside his bed. She didn't want anyone to suffer anymore. As a doctor, her main priority is focusing on the patient. She took a deep breath before opening her mouth.

"Lord Weijun, it's Lingling. I heard you woke up yesterday. I'm really glad you're back. I brought some warm food for you." She carefully sipped the soup to make sure nothing poison was in there. Then, she gave the soup to him, "Drink it while it's still warm. There's no poison, I just took a sip." Lord Weijun reached out for Lingling's hand and she held his hands while he finished drinking the soup.

"Ling An used to do the same." Lingling nodded and listened.

"What else does she do?" Lord Weijun paused and thought about it for awhile.

"She used to cook my favorite egg roll and made my favorite blackbean noodle. It wasn't the same after she died.

"My Lord, what else do you like about Ling An?" The Lord smiled, "She used to play music on her favorite flute. I also loved her quiet nature and smile. I really missed her hugs. When we were together, no matter what happened, she would always hug me first. But, when someone found out she cannot distinguish color, she was treated like an outsider. She was an immortal too but her heart was pure. She had no hatred but accepted it. I could not stand still. I wanted to protect her. But I failed... even sacrificing my power wasn't enough to bring her back alive as an immortal. It pains me that she might not remember me when she's a mortal. Right now, I really wanted to see her. Too bad I cannot see. I'm sorry for bothering you." Lingling shook her head, "My Lord, I might not be able to understand everything. But I am glad you were able to share it with me. It must've been hard for you." Lingling had tears in her eyes but Lord Weijun had no expression at all. She held his hands for a while.

"I'm sorry I cannot replace her." Suddenly,

Lord Weijun hugged Lingling but she didn't shove him away. She stayed as long as he wanted. Besides her dad, no one ever hugged her this way.

"It's alright. Whenever you need someone, I'll be right beside you. Don't keep it all to yourself. Otherwise, your body cannot handle it. I'll help you." Lord Weijun nodded.

Lingling and Ah Jing were in the gardens. Lord Weijun was having a conversation with one of the sect leader. Since Lingling doesn't understand any politics of the palace, she watched him from afar. Lord Weijun didn't want her to get involved. Once was enough for him. Inside his heart, he knew Ling An died but meeting with Lingling reignited his feeling for Ling An because Lingling is the reincarnate of Ling An but with loss of memory. He will wait for her whenever she's ready to tell him. Lingling walked towards Lord Weijun when she noticed a strange person. It was a woman who poured tea for the Lord. Lingling noticed the woman pouring powders inside the tea. The woman smiled and gave him the tea to drink. Lord Weijun was about to drink the tea but Lingling took his teacup and threw it on the ground. Lord Weijun was surprised.

"Who are you? What is that you poured?" Lingling demanded an answer. The woman bowed and apologized, "My Lord, please forgive me. I did this because I was forced. It was... it was... poison." The woman trembled in fear.

"If I see you again, I will never forgive you for poisoning our Lord." Lingling took Lord Weijun's hand, "My Lord, let's go. I'll deal with them later." The woman stared at them as if her eyes were shooting flames at them.

"A-Sang!" She called her right-hand man to kill Lord Weijun. Lingling told Ah Jing to take the Lord inside and call Ming plus the other four dragon guardian. Ah Jing nodded and led her brother inside.

"I'll be back."

"Brother, let's go inside. Lingling will come later. She's dealing with them now." Ah Jing quickly led him inside the room but the Lord held onto her wrist, "No, she's only a mortal. Let me go!"

"Brother, you can't! If you go, you might die. I won't let you die. I'll call the four guardians now. Stay in here." Lord Weijun calmed down and nodded. Ah Jing promised her brother she will be alright.

Ah Jing flew to the other side of the palace and spotted them. Bingxue and the others were still guarding. Ah Jing carefully landed and called out to them.

"Bingxue! Bingxue!" Ah Jing called out.

Bingxue (White Dragon) and Ah Jing were childhood friends.

"Lingling is in trouble. The Lord is safe in his room. I told him to stay inside."

Bingxue signalled them to help Lingling out while he asked Lu (Green Dragon) and Lan (Blue Dragon) to guard Lord Weijun's room. They immediately obeyed the order. Bingxue asked Huoxing (Red Dragon) to go with him and help out Lingling. Ah Jing closely followed them. Bingxue and Huoxing are the best martial artist and they are really powerful in their own ways. They can disable someone in one second with their power.

Even though Lingling is a doctor, she's an expert in disabling a person with a needle. Her father taught her self-defense and using acupressure and needles as weapons. Lingling dodged their attacks and punched him using acupressure, it was the point which can knockout a person for a while.
