Day Before The Mission

There are eleven people inside the general quarters including Arthur and Emmanuel, all having a unique aura around them.

Except the two of them, there are two more squads all having 3 squad members each.

Arthur always has a way to identify when something or someone is dangerous, maybe it's the way he lives his life or it was a unique gift he has but now this instinct is telling him to run.

He looked around trying to find out who was giving him such a deadly premonition but there wasn't, beside the General and the two men behind him which includes Lieutenant Jeffrey none of them is his match.

As he was thinking, the General speaks. "By now all of you must know why you have been called here today."

"Sir, yes sir!" Everyone answered, except for Arthur and Emmanuel who came unannounced all of the people here have already been brief.

"All of you are handpicked due to your ability and outstanding performance, all in the goal to take down the orc archer" the General said

"Means no disrespect sir but before we continue can I ask why there are two little chick here?" A burly man said, interrupting the general. He was clearly targeting Arthur and Emmanuel.

This man is part of Sergeant Jessie squad, a particular group primarily composed of muscular men. Sergeant Jessie in particular is as large as an orc.

"Hahaha" The rest of his squad laughed

"All of you are here for a specific purpose corporal, your squad together with Sergeant Lucy and Sergeant Arthur had a special part to play" The general answered seemingly not minding such provocation.

But eventhough the general doesn't, Arthur clearly does, before the general finished speaking Arthur had already arrived in front of the burly man.

"Sorry General, it seems that the corporal didn't know a thing, I hope that you can let me educate him" Arthur said smiling

Lieutenant Jeffrey already knows what Arthur is going to do and is about to step in, when the general stops him.

[Let him, respect cannot be earned by just talking] He had worked for the army his whole life. He knows that a new recruit's sudden promotion would spark jealousy and discontent among the army but he still does it because he can see promise in Arthur.

"Stand down corporal and apologize" Sergeant Jesse said, although he supports the act of his subordinate as he also has his misgivings concerning this new upcoming newbee, he can't afford to lose face in front of the General.

"Alright, I apologize" The man said with a smirk on his face.

Arthur, having experienced hierarchy before, knows that if you want others to respect you, you have to put them in their place.

He looked the man in the face and punched him in the stomach.

The man fall to his knees "You fuck*r"

The man is furious and was about to retaliate but Arthur is not done yet, he grabs him by the face and slams him to the ground.

"Know your place you dumb pig, this is not the way you talk to your commanding officer." Arthur said, showing his rank as sergeant.

"Fuck" Seeing one of his teammate being humiliated, Sergeant Jessei rush to his aid but before he can do so however, Emmanuel place a pistol in the back of his head

"Move another step and let see what happen"

The situation started to get out of hand between Arthur and Sergeant Jessei 's squad.

Seeing this Lieutenant Jeffrey cannot take it anymore, after having gained the General permission his aura sky rocketed, letting everyone know his status as a tier 2 "Stand down! Have you no shame, you are in the presence of a General show some respect"

He was about to bash the troublemaker to kingdom come when the General injected, with the swipe of his hand, he was able to stop everything.

Even Arthur and Emmanuel breathing stop momentarily.

"Now that everyone has finish getting to know each other, we can resume" The General said looking at everybody

"Lieutenant Jeffrey" He said

The Lieutenant nodded and started explaining stuff. "This is all the data we collected so far about the orc archer"

"It has participated since the very start of this war, even before [Operation Last Stand] has been initiated. It already killed hundreds of our comrades and was responsible for the assassination of the majority of our corporal and sergeant.

"At first it's only targeting the regular soldiers (the tier zero) but as the war progressed it shifted to tier 1, we don't know how it does it but we have reason to believe that it can accurately measure the strength of its victim ."

"As of today no one had ever seen its face, we just know that it was situated on the top of a very distinct tower but because of the sea of orcs, we weren't able to get close to confirm it."

"Everyone it's ever targeted has died except for three, Sergeant Arthur and his squad but eventhough they manage to survive they sustain heavy injury and one of them is still in a coma"

"Weak ass m*therf*cker" The burly man mumble.

"What did you say?" This time it was not Arthur that is angry but Emmanuel, he felt that Aleria has been insulted, if not for Arthur who decided to stop him, he would've start another fight.

Arthur had felt the impatient in the Generals aura and was sure that things would not end up pretty if things started to out of hand

"If any of you interject again you all would be punished, understand?" Lieutenant Jeffrey said he had also detected the change in the General aura.

"Sir yes sir"

"To summarize, based on its rate of progress the orc archer is already at peak tier one, if it manages to reach tier 2 there is no one in the western battlefield that would be able to survive it's attack so."

"We have to stop it before that happens" The general interjected.

"Tomorrow before the sun raise up, your small team would move to the rear and begin your attack there when the whole orc army is busy on it's siege"

��Sir, isn't it better if we just bombard it with cannon fire?" Sergeant Jessie asks.

"Are you stupid? Of course we have thought of that but we have no weapon that can reach that far" It was not the general who answered but Sarah.

Being called stupid Sergeant Jessie has no choice but to shut up his mouth.

"Sir! If it's only the 10 of us what would happen if we got surrounded by the orcs" This time it was Arthur who asked, he came here hoping that they would have a better solution to the orc archer problem but it seems that it was the same as his: charging stupidly.

"That would not happen, I assure you" The General said.

"How did you know that?" Arthur asked, not convinced. In his books there was no way someone would know what would happen in the battlefield, for him killing the Orc archer is not the priority but surviving and finding his wife.

"Experience, Faith, you can call it whatever but I know those bastards would not be interested in a small group of people, their appetite it's much bigger for that." The general answered.

'What idiotic way of thinking is this, is he hoping that we would just throw our lives away' Arthur thought to himself.

"Sir, even if by some miracle we managed to slip through the orcs, there is no way they would just allow us to just walz in there in and out." Arthur said .If this is how everything would go, he was ready to bail on this whole thing.

Still irritated by what happen earlier the burly man mumble "Pussy"

As Arthur is preoccupied in his conversation with the general he didn't hear it and even if he does he would not retaliate, he knows that the general is already in the bad mood, he was already pushing it by asking so many questions.

But even though Arthur didn't hear it the furious Emmanuel did "What did you say? I dare you repeat it"

"I say pussy, are you deaf"

"F*ck you" Emmanuel retrieves a grenade in his inventory and shove it to the man's mouth, the man is surprised and wasn't able to react, he wasn't expecting for the other party to do something so crazy.

He looked at Emmanuel with fear but as the other party was about to pull the pin of the grenade, the voice of the General reverberated across the room ,shaking the whole place.

"Enough!" The general said.

Everyone fell flat to the ground as if the gravity had been increased by 20 times.

"Sergeant Lucy and her team would be responsible for your escape, you just have to charge in and kill the orc archer, Understood?"

"Understood!" Everyone said while trying keep themselves awake

"Any more questions?" The general said specifically looking at Arthur.

What happens afterward is more like exchanging pleasantries rather than discussing the plan. Well there is not much to talk about when your plan is only to charge straight ahead and hope for the best.
